SSHS 186 Freya then began to start fawning over the StudentCouncil Secretary. She circled around Hestia and pointed out every littledetail that she noticed that had changed since the time they bought schoolsupplies together. Aside from the extensions on her hair, Freya also noticedthe new colour of Hestia’s eye glasses’ frame: from the classic black and intoan eye- catching beige. Then there was the new colour of Hestia’s lanyard, andthe new band on her left arm stating that she is now the Student Council Secretary.Freya continued to point out a few more things as Hestia only stood there andlet the senior cheerleader do her thing. The Student Council Secretary just stood therecalmly. She may be letting Freya do her thing, but in reality, Hestia was alsoobserving the senior cheerleader. She was eyeing her as she circled her. Everylittle change, she also noticed every little change about the seniorcheerleader. Freya seemed to have lost weight since the la
SSHS 187 At the mention of the name of the former Student Council Treasurer, Hestia raised a brow and quickly turned her head to face the senior cheerleader. Her mind was confused, shocked and was once again swirling with questions around like a whirlpool, resulting in not knowing which question was to ask in the first place. What does the senior cheerleader mean when she says to not believe whatever Arthur will say? What is the meaning behind this? “I’m sorry, I’m still confused. What do you mean by saying ‘do not believe whatever Arthur says’?” Hestia took a few steps backwards to separate herself from the hold of the fourth year student. “I think I am missing something here.” Hestia added as she settled herself two steps apart from the fourth year student. “You are still hiding something from me. And I think I should know about that.” Freya fiddled with her fingers once again and looked guilty as Hestia spotted or noticed that minor detail. She thought she might be able to get a
SSHS 188 Hestia was quick to her feet as she dashed from the rooftop and into the elevator. Hoping that she could catch a glimpse or even a trace that Freya had taken. But as she arrived at the ground floor of the Club Building, there was no Freya there. Only the students leaving and a few faculty staff lingering around the premises. There was no Freya at all. Some of them noticed the device that the Student Council Secretary is holding, noticing how it is such a bizarre machine and what it does, as well as questioning where she got it from because, “As I remember, you were not holding anything when you came here.” the janitor of that building pointed at the device on Hestia’s right hand. She also looked down and looked at the device in her hand. She was reluctant to state any reason at first, as it may endanger her identity or may leak out what she did at the rooftop (although it was nothing controversial nor scandalous as it is only a talk among two students), but Hestia still wa
SSHS 189 Things are currently going smoothly. They are now in the middle of the Recruitment week or also known as the ‘Recruitment Season’ and so far, everyone— every club is abiding to the peaceful rules and regulations placed by the Student Council and since then, there are no complaints or even a tiny whine of complaint was delivered or raised to the Student Council members and they are happy for it. Damian felt like this is a good thing— a good sign that things are going to be very good and great on the following days. Most of the freshmen are already oriented about the clubs and are now deciding on what club to take. And when observing how happy each club was, it can be deduced that they have garnered a sufficient amount of freshmen for their clubs to still exist and flourish. “Look at the recruitment list of the Occult Club. they have more members than last year.” Excami pointed out as she held her tablet: an excel sheet was open and it showed the data
SSHS 190 Hestia can be seen guiding the first year students from the Recruitment street and into the pathway that leads to the start of the mini field trip with the representatives of the sporting clubs. She was seen waving a blue flag and shouting, “Please follow me this way for the second part of the Recruitment Street.” She continued to do so as long as the day went on. She was keen into observing the first year students as well as the club representatives in that mini field trip. She made sure that while she was there, no commotion would occur nor any chaos. She also made sure that no first year student ever went astray from the group. Hi, can you please accompany me to the nearest rest room? I just really need to pee.” one of the students tapped Hestia by the shoulder and asked for the favour. She observed the student for a while— deducing that the student is but a shy boy who was very nervous with his surroundings. He was anxious. But Hestia cannot leave her post. Under any
SSHS 191 There was no conversation as to where they would meet, nor even a conversation of the time of their meeting. And even more so when it comes to the day that they would meet— the day that Hestia Leblanc will pay what she owes to the fourth year student and President of the Cheerleading Club. And yet here they are, in the same coffee shop that Freya frequents to and Hestia has seen her in for at least twice or thrice. It was like, they knew that they would see each other there… or maybe it was only a coincidence and Hestia was taking such an opportunity to settle things a bit sooner. Or maybe it was planned all along… but by whom?
SSHS 192 Casually, Hestia entered the cafe, ringing the bells above the door in the process. Some of the customers looked at her direction but most were minding their own business. She went to the counter and ordered her favourite cappuccino. She waited for her drink to be finished before settling in to one of the tables— the one where Freya was also situated. Although it is an implicit arrangement for Hestia to repay what she owes from the fourth year student, it is undeniable that there was an air of uncomfortability present around them. Most of it coming from Freya but it cannot be ignored at this point at all.
SSHS 193 Hestia observed the paranoid Fourth Year student for a moment as she sat down with her. Freya’s eyes were frantic, looking from left to right and back and forth as if she was weary of something or someone--- as if she was being cautious of her surroundings--- as if there was danger lurking around her and she was being cautious of it. This made Hestia concerned of the mentality of the senior cheerleader. This is not like her at all. Freya is that social butterfly who was always seen smiling and cheerful, ready to greet everyone with a smile and spread positivity to the others. And yet the Freya in front of her was the opposite of the usual Freya. A tap on her right shoulder and the senior cheerleader was sent into a whole body flinch. “Hey, it’s just me.” Hestia said, her voice a bit cold and monotone but there was a slight hint of concern in them. Giving the feeling that Freya is safe around her and that there is nothing to fear at all. Freya looked at the Student Co
