Samuel

“So now that Clara’s scar is gone, are you gonna give her your attention? Or even worse you might actually end up falling in love with your mate.”

I only chuckled, pushing the door of our room open before letting her in with my hand on her lower back.

“Don’t laugh at me! I’m serious, Samuel. I saw the way you looked at her when I removed her veil,” her voice was sulky, looking back at me with her palms on her waist.

Consuming the left space between us, I inclined myself to kiss her lips shut.

“The look you saw was just because of shock and nothing else,” I whispered in between our kisses.

Alice rolled her eyes with a pout on her red lips.

“Out of all people, you were the one who knows my real intentions for Clara, right?”

Without saying a thing, she threw herself into the mattress. Seeing her eyes not have their usual glee and spark, all I could blame was Clara.

She was the root of all of this. And I should have made sure she wouldn’t be able to attend that ceremony.

I sat besi

SamuelMy right hand was grasping Clara’s neck as I was ready to strangle her to death if only Alice didn’t interrupt.“Samuel, no,” her soothing voice filled my ears. With a single caress on my right arm, I was able to let go of Clara’s neck. She coughed so hard, catching her breath.“I-I brought t-the flag only to help you cheer up on your first night with your new wife,” she exhaled, stroking her neck.“You should perform well or otherwise, Alice will be disappointed,” she continued, scowling playfully. My jaw tightly clenched watching her smile back at me while I almost shapeshifted in wrath because of her stupid actions. Those warriors who died for our Pack didn’t deserve to be disrespected like this by their own Luna!I consumed the distance between us and snapped the flag out of her hand. “Don’t you hold our flag with your filthy hands!”She was taken aback yet before she could protest, the door pushed open with my Beta Carter followed by two other warriors barged in.They held

ClaraI was dragged by the two warriors gripping my arms tightly while Beta Carter led the way with no gentleness. My body was squirming in pain as I tried to beg for kindness, but as if they were deaf, all of my pleas were ignored.Every Pack member present in the hallway was looking at us with a sneer. A hint of smiles that confirmed they wanted me to suffer like this.Keeping my eyes on the ground with shame consuming me, I failed to keep track of our way. The next thing I knew we were entering a dark abyss. It was the underground dungeon.“Here,” Beta Carter utters, pointing to one of the cells in front of him.The two warriors didn’t hesitate and dragged me inside.“Why am I being kept here?!”This dungeon is the place only for criminals who have done vicious and wicked things. I’m not one of them!“I’m not a criminal to be put here and even treated like this!” I added.“Alpha distinguishes you as one because of disrespecting the Pack’s flag,” Beta Carter faintly answered.“No, l

ClaraI stood up from the mattress, facing Donna who remained seated in one of the wooden chairs by the small table.“Do you know where Beta Carter’s brother is staying?”Puzzled, Donna nodded.“Alright, please join me,” I mumbled, grabbing my cloak that was hanging beside the drawer.“But why, Luna?”With heavily furrowed brows, I looked back at Donna. “What do you mean why? I’ll help his brother. After all, Beta Carter helped me from almost dying last night and even gave me an ointment for my lash wounds.”“It’s time to repay his kindness,” I added, fixing the hood of my red cloak.Donna stood up from her seat and faced me with a wrinkled face as if she were in deep trouble.“Look, Luna, I understand what you meant by repaying Beta Carter’s kindness, but how exactly are you gonna pay him back?” she asked, scratching her neck.I shrug. “I’ll see if I can help cure his brother?”Donna’s head immediately shook as her eyes widened. “No, Luna.”She stepped to reach me, her hands were fir

ClaraI could feel my jaw tightening as my patience slowly ran out.Tugging my wrist back, I asked. “Even if I am here to help?”The Pack doctor grinned before he ended up just nodding. “I had no idea what help you were talking about. You’re not related to any kind of medical field, Luna. I don’t mean to sound rude, but have you lost your mind?”“Yes, you’re right. I’m not a medical professional but you are and still unable to do anything to save this poor man. This is your only job and purpose here and yet you still failed to do it right.”His nose flared, his breathing rapid probably with anger. He was lowly and inwardly growling, but I was still able to hear him before his hand was lifted into the air.I heard Donna screaming as the Pack doctor’s straightened palm was about to reach my cheek.“Luna!” she screamed, hearing her footsteps fast approaching my place to save me.But before she could, I blocked his palm from touching my face using my arm as I shoved his hand away.Glaring

ClaraAfter writing everything down, Donna was left with no choice but to just accept the piece of paper.“Please get them for me, Donna. You are the best!” I giggled.Since Donna left, I was peacefully alone in my room, patiently waiting for her to come back. Until a knock appeared on my door. It’s been only thirty minutes after Donna left, she couldn’t be back that quick.Leaving my vanity table, I walked by the door. And if it was Donna, she would knock and should have already pushed the door open to step in.Still puzzled into thinking who might pay me a visit, I fixed myself as I turned the knob on.The same evil female butler was the one whom my sight found as soon as I opened the door. Clara“What are you doing here?” Samuel’s raspy voice made me gulp.“She’s insisting she can cure my brother by doing surgery on him,” Beta Carter spat, his forehead wrinkled as he shook his head in disappointment. “And now she even sneaks just to push herself.”My throat was running dry along with the huge lump building on it making me unable to say anything.“It looks like getting attention from everyone is your new hobby,” Samuel smirked, with his jaw tightening. He moved his body aside, giving me a way as he pointed out to the door. “Leave now, Clara, before you take up the remaining patience I’ve got with you. Because I swear, I will not spare your life this time.”Gathering all of my remaining courage, I lifted my head and met Samuel’s keen glare. “And what are you willing to do if I can really cure your Beta’s brother?”I need to do the surgery as soon as possible and I am ready to go to the lengths just to make it. ClaraMy brows furrowed across each other, staring confusedly at Samuel. Not breathing?! Impossible.Just when I gathered myself to rise back up, Samuel had hastily turned to me, his right hand locked onto my neck.He forcibly made my knees straighten up as I stood up, having difficulties breathing because of his tight grip on my neck.“I should have seen this coming. You’re not up for anything good!”I helplessly tapped on his wrist, unable to utter a word. But those were useless as his grip only tightened, his teeth gritting in anger. My eyes shifted to where Caleb was.A quick rush of guilt spread across me watching Carter sob as he tried to wake his brother up.Did I really fail? And Caleb’s dead?Or perhaps Samuel was just mistaken when he checked his pulse?“L-le-let g-go,” I stuttered, struggling to free myself from Samuel’s grip and all I had in mind was that I needed to check on Caleb as soon as possible.I couldn’t catch any more oxygen as my head started to feel light. ClaraA moment of silence was present and I didn’t notice a tear fall from my left eye until I felt its hotness rolling down my cheek.I hastily wiped it away, not wanting anyone to witness me being weak once again. The Clara I was before was long tired of crying and begging. And this new one shouldn’t be even tearing up in tears. The silence didn’t last longer as it was disrupted by Carter’s rough and high-pitched jittery screech, “Caleb! What’s wrong?!”All of us were caught in shock seeing Caleb uncontrollably shaking. Only the iris part of his eyes was there as he was in a state of delirium.Carter continued to yell for his brother’s name but he was already unresponsive while having a seizure.I gasped, placing my palm over my parted mouth.Having a seizure is most unlikely, almost impossible to happen, given that the seizure doesn’t have anything to do with his condition.I could accept that his heart stopped beating because the wound that I just performed surgery on was on his l

  • Secret Healer Luna   Chapter 79

SamuelIn the middle of the deep night, where everyone is definitely resting, Carter came banging my door, telling me Clara left. The news was so sudden that I was immediately awakened from my sleep. “Left? Why? Where did she go?” Carter was lost for words on how to respond to my unending questions. “How long has she been gone?” I kept on asking as we made our way down the pack mansion’s lobby. “Donna said the last time she got to see Luna Clara was before dinner.” I asked Clara to join me for dinner and this is what she did? Left?“Ask one set of our warriors to track her down immediately,” I ordered, but as if I said nothing Carter just stood before me, confused. “What? That’s an order. Move!” Probably because of the urgency in my head-splitting voice, Carter then moved. Donna, Clara’s personal servant was by the pack’s veranda, anxiously pacing back and forth. “Out of everyone here, you should know where Clara is planning on going.” “Alpha,” she exhaled, bowing her head.

  • Secret Healer Luna   Chapter 78

ClaraMy steps were big and rapid as I made sure my sight was fixed ahead of me. I overheard Samuel calling for me. I know he’s just behind me, probably running after me. So as if I heard nothing, I kept on striding forward. It wasn’t so long when Samuel gave up. His voice eventually fades and my will to look back at him is growing bigger but I fight that urge and walk back straight to the packhouse until I get myself inside my room. I feel bad about leaving so abruptly because I know what it takes for him to push himself to say those words—to actually thank me. But I was just as well caught off guard at the moment. Blowing out a sigh to remove those thoughts building up in my head, I didn’t waste any more time and began packing up. I need to have a clear head, not to think about this twice but to make sure I am in the right mind to decide things. I am leaving. And I need to leave before tomorrow. After making sure I’ve got everything I will be needing for my trip, I hid the bag

  • Secret Healer Luna   Chapter 77

Samuel“Are you really fit to work, Alpha?” My sharp stare shifted back to Carter who remained standing in front of my table. “I was stabbed, not paralyzed.” Clicking his tongue was the only thing he could do before he ended up nodding. I drifted my focus back onto the papers before me. “There’s actually nothing to work with, Alpha. Luna Clara made sure everything was settled. She handled the pack too—” “So you’re now her Beta?” I bitterly chuckled. “I’m just saying that she did more than enough. Treating you and managing the pack? That’s a lot to do.” Blowing out a deep sigh, I cleared out every piece of paper on top of my table and faced Carter with the back of my palm supporting my chin. “It seems like you and Clara were such good friends now, huh?” His brows furrowed until he nodded. “Then, why don’t you, as my Beta, ask her to talk to me. How does it sound to you?” “I’m on it.” “Just tell her I’m conducting a meeting with the pack elders so she won’t think I need her th

  • Secret Healer Luna   Chapter 76

Clara“What the hell is wrong with you? I won’t beg, if that’s what you’re thinking…” Samuel’s voice minimized as I walked away from the door until I heard his heavy receding steps. I don’t know how to take it, seeing doubt along with shock through his eyes. I am so done with him, but the Goddess knew how much I wanted to be proud to see him finally getting back on his right mind. That he actually is now doubting Alice and everybody else around him. Alice truly changed him, I know that too well. I watched him go from wise to a literal stupid as he slowly allowed Alice to enter his life. I was a nobody to Samuel before she even showed up and I remained the same when she came. I already have a clear understanding that no matter what I do, nothing will change. Just as how sorry I am for the death of his parents that my adoptive father caused, I could never bring them to life. He loathed me and no matter how much I tried, he will never forgive me for the things I didn’t do. Perhaps

SamuelSeeing Alice’s disfigured and burned face made my chest twist with disgust, pity, and rage at the same timeHer eyes couldn’t lock gaze with mine. It was as if she was ashamed that I came to see her this way. While Clara, who sat before her, eyes were locked with me. Clara was in awe which I am not certain if it was because of seeing me standing in front her, fine and alive or it was because I witnessed how cruel she can be towards Alice. “Alice?” Ignoring Clara’s presence, I crouch to get Alice up from the floor. But Clara remained glued to her place, her eyes still on me, and her hands locked with Alice’s wrist. “Let her go,” I warned, without throwing her a glance. But like she heard nothing, her firm grip remained on Alice. I had to forcibly remove her fingers before she finally came back to reality. “You did this to her? How could you?” I was trying to keep my voice low and my composure calm because Clara remained shut. “N-no,” Clara stuttered, shaking her head. Sh

  • Secret Healer Luna   Chapter 74

ClaraThe understanding and respect I am trying my best to give Alice just vanished as soon as I heard her confirm her alliance with Arthur. My hands on her both shoulders slid down until I was able to grip onto her wrist. “Do you have any idea what you’re getting yourself into?!” Carter let go of her which she took an advantage for. Forcibly withdrawing her wrist, she was about to step away. But before she could, I pulled her wrist for the second time which she immediately tossed away. “End ties with Arthur as soon as possible.” “Who are you to tell me what to do?” Alice snorted. My eyes scanned around and seeing a couple of pack members present, murmuring, I knew I had to do something. No matter how bad I wanted everyone to talk about Alice, I don’t want it to end this way for her. Leaving me with no choice, my grip flew onto her hair. I forcibly pulled her with me, not minding if it would hurt her. I pulled her with me inside my room. I only let go of her as soon as I made

ClaraIt wasn’t so long when it occurred to me that the man pointing a dagger in front of me doesn’t have the means to kill me. “You don’t have to do this.” “I have to! Shut up!” he yelled, the dagger pointing deeper into my skin, hence not deep enough to scratch me. Before he could muster up the courage to end me, I made my move to save myself. Because of his grip that’s loose, I was able to fully flee from his grasp by just kicking into his balls. He fell onto the floor, aching. I hastily placed my feet over his chest, grabbed the dagger out of his hand and pulled out the mask he’s wearing. “Who sent you to kill me?” *** “He won’t talk,” Carter started, walking out of the interrogation room where we kept the man.“Did you force him to do so?” Carter simply nodded, his eyes tracing down to his white shirt that was tainted with blood. “I think he’s too scared to talk, Luna.” “He should be.” I walked past Carter, dragging the door wide open as I made my entrance to finally face

Alice“Luna, news was spreading that Alpha’s condition is getting worse. I heard that Beta Carter had just informed the elder about this, but I think you need to know.”“Are you going to say it or not, Via?! I don’t have forever for this!” “Alpha Samuel is dying.” My brain was like a phone line that had been dropped. Via’s last sentence rang through my ears continuously until it brought me to a realization. “N-no!” “The pack elders were considering Alpha’s first wife to take over the leadership of the pack, Luna. Unfortunately, that’s not you.” So, it’s going to be Clara?“If Samuel knew about this, I know he would entrust me to lead his pack instead of that woman!” “Only if the Luna ring was still in your possession, Luna, you wouldn’t have to worry about any of this,” Via casually murmured. My teeth gritted, my blood began to simmer remembering how Samuel allowed that to happen. The next thing Via knew, her cheek was numb because of my palm that struck her. “You don’t dare t
