Chapter 28: Trust Me, Alpha

“So please, tell us. Who is it?”

The Omega licked her bottom lip before opening it to finally say the name. I waited to hear something from her, but before she could successfully utter a word, blood instead spilled out of her mouth.

She lost consciousness and her body fell right into my arms. I tapped her back to wake her up, but there was no response.

My heart raced as a thought entered my mind.

Carter had helped me get her body up. Holding onto her shoulders, he pinned her back against the wall behind.

“Hold her. I’ll check her breathing,” I instructed Carter which he quickly attended to.

My hands began to tremble as I lifted my right hand and placed it on her chest. I was just hoping for the best that I could be able to feel her breathing because she couldn’t die.

She’s the only one capable of pointing out the culprit.

But as my palm lay flat over her chest, I didn’t even have to check it twice. There was no heartbeat anymore.

“She’s dead,” I mumbled.
