They finally got to Liam’s house and the place looked beautiful, but it wasn't as elaborate as Chloe thought it would be, like Hailey’s house.

“This is a nice place.” She said to Hailey, looking at the house through the window of the car. When Hailey parked the car, they both climbed out of it, and Hailey locked it up.

While she did that Chloe looked around the house to see that by a high school party standard, or according to the ones she had seen in a movie seeing as she had never been on one, there was nobody out here in the garden throwing up, or couples making out, so she hoped the party wouldn't be as childish as she thought it might be. Liam’s house looked like something out of a movie, but it was also something she would consider an average house, for average people.

“I hope we're not late to this party,” Hailey said and Chloe was tempted to ask why, but she realized it was because of the number of cars that were already parked around the house and down the street.

  • Secret Crush   "Did You Just Sniff Me?"

That was an unexpected question, Zach thought, a question no one had ever asked him, a question that scared the shit out of him. Instead of answering, he looked at her up and down slowly, and that caused Chloe to shift from one foot to the other, shifting so awkwardly under his gaze.He raised his eyes to meet hers again, and he heard her gasp so softly. His eyes became a little darker and he licked his lips at what he saw on her face. Damn, she was beautiful and messing with his head. "You didn't come all the way here like this, right?” he asked, racing his legs over the chair he sat on and leaning against the piano with his arms crossed. Chloe looked down at her body and then back at him. "I don't understand,” she said. "What's so wrong with my outfit?” she asked. He scoffed, removing his hand to gesture her up and down. "Do you not see how you're dressed? You look like you're modeling them.” He said, wondering in his head if that was him complimenting her or judging her clothes.

  • Secret Crush   Busted!

Zach jerked her backward into his body and then he wrapped his arms around her waist. If he hadn't acted fast like that, she would be stumbling down the ground. Someone had bolted past them as soon as they got downstairs and he had seen him coming so he had sprung into action. Chloe twisted her body in his arms to face him and his muscles tensed, the look in her eyes giving him a chill. Although, the boy that made him pull her into him had long gone, but he was too comfortable with the way she was pressed so sweetly against him that he didn't bother releasing her, and he knew that Chloe was just too stunned to pull away. He was going to have to enjoy this while it lasted. He wanted to reach up his hand to push the tendrils on her face behind her hair and maybe even grab the back of her neck gently, but he was scared it might break the spell. She was standing in front of him frozen with her mouth a bit open and that was so sexy to look at as hell. How can someone be this beautiful

  • Secret Crush   Crying Herself To Sleep

“Let’s just go grab some nuts in the kitchen, Chloe, and then we can leave,” Hailey said when she saw how serious Chloe was about leaving. She just wanted to go home because she couldn't be here anymore, not after the stare-me-down she had participated with Zach. There had been something in his eyes while he stared at her and she could feel his heart racing to match hers because of how close they had been standing. Thankfully, Hailey had interrupted them, or who knew what would have happened. She sighed and said okay. "But you know you could have taken that when we went there earlier.” She said. Hailey nodded her head in agreement. That was true, but she would be quick, and she said as much. They both walked back to the kitchen and then Chloe put her hand to her lips to hush Hailey to be quiet. She could hear someone talk outside, and she could swear it was Zach. She was so familiar with his voice that she knew she wasn't mistaken. She couldn't hear what he was saying properly, o

  • Secret Crush   Nasty Headache

Waking up with a startle, Chloe yawned, but she didn't open her eyes yet, as she thought of what had happened last night. “You’re going to regret drinking that in the morning, trust me.” She scoffed mentally, wondering how a boy can have that much nerve over something he had done so wrong. And speaking of his sentence, trust him, trust him? Was he mad to think she would ever do that again? Blowing out a breath, she tried to open her eyes but she shut it right back, the pain in her head telling her something was wrong. She groaned in pain, not pleased that she would be going to school with that kind of nasty headache. This was why it wasn't ever a good idea to go to a party on a school night. She should have taken her own advice, but now, she was several hours too late. The door to her room pulled open and the sound made her pop her eyes open, blinking it a few times against the pain in her head. “Good morning, sleepy head. I hope you know you're going to be late for school if yo

  • Secret Crush   On A Great Note

"What the hell was her problem?" it was the first thought that came to Zach’s mind when he woke up this morning, and he wanted to punch someone. Thankfully, no one was in his room. He sat up on his bed, the thought of what had happened last night invading his head and he wondered how Chloe could react the way she did, like she was annoyed about what she had overhead. If truly she had overheard the conversation, shouldn't she know that he had only done her a favor? She had acted like he had done something so terrible and that annoyed the shit out of him. She made him tick in places he didn't like, and he hated that so much. Speaking of ticking, he felt himself hardened as he remembered the brief encounter between them upstairs at Liam’s house and down below the stairs. The way her body had felt pressed against his, the way she had gasped when their body touched even though there was a barrier of clothes between them. Damn! He cursed, threw the cover aside, and walked to the bathroo

  • Secret Crush   Towel Off

At school, Zach went about his day like nothing was going on, even though all he could think about through his classes was Chloe and the things she was doing to him. He was leaving his history class after the teacher had called him aside to give him the thumb up about his assignment, the same one Chloe had helped him with when he heard someone talking about what had happened at Liam’s place the night before. Well, they were in Leighton High, a place where news traveled faster than connection to a fast network, so he wasn't surprised, but it prompted him. He had to go see her to get her out of his head or he would not be able to concentrate on the rest of the classes. He was going to have to find Hailey first to find Chloe because that girl sure knew how to hide herself. He searched the halls and then some classes and finally the library where he found her in the library, behind one of the shelves in the biology and anatomy section. “Hi, Hailey!” he greeted as he walked to her, try

  • Secret Crush   Looking For Trouble 2

"Gross, Chloe. You should go clean up this mess!” Hailey whispered before the teacher sent Ella to the sick bay. She nodded her head and said. "Yes, I'll go grab a shower in the old locker room and come back to join you in the cafeteria.” She said. Chloe looked around her at the people who were there. Some were laughing, some were scrunching up their face at the vomit on her, while others had pity in their eyes. “Y'all shouldn't pity me, I didn't die,” she thought as she grabbed her bag and walked out of the class. She walked to her locker, thankfully she had some clothes there, as she had realized she needed more than one piece of clothing to survive in this school after the mess with Dana. She had remembered seeing her at the party last night giving her the stink eye. Who cared? She sighed and pushed her bag into the locker, then she grabbed a nylon bag she had there, put in the clothes she would be wearing, and walked towards the old locker room in the abandoned building, hopin

  • Secret Crush   Cat Got Your Tongue?

Zach stood there with her, knowing his plans were working, and his intimidating tactics were on par. He watched as her face flushed and the heat flooded her body from the neck down, and that made him pleased, but he made sure nothing was displayed on his face. There was no way he would smirk after what he had done because even though he enjoyed the kind of uneasiness he had brought her, he knew deep down this was still a violation of her privacy and body, in a way, and it was only something a creep would consider doing. “Maybe you're a creep, a very idiotic one at that!” his mind said to him and he nodded mentally in agreement. Maybe he truly was, because here he was, standing there with his roaming eyes over her body when he should have left the moment that towel dropped from her body. He was reluctant to look at her now, as if he didn't want to do that any longer and he blew out a breath, his chest heaving a little bit, but then his eyes came back up to lock with hers, and his b

  • Secret Crush   A Good Ending

The air felt so heavy around Zach as he approached Chloe's house, his breath forming clouds in the chilly evening. “Oh shit, I’m nervous.” He whispered. It was as if he was there to ask for Chloe’s hand in marriage rather than just having a causal dinner with her family. He couldn't help but feel a flutter of nervous excitement in his chest at the thought of marrying her though, because he would like that very much.Although, Zach had eaten with Chloe before, but tonight was different; it wasn't just another dinner. It was a gathering, an invitation from Chloe's family so that they could meet him official and probably talk about his relationship with Chloe. As he reached the front door, it swung open right before he could knock on the door, revealing Hailey, Chloe's best friend and his own friend as well, and he wondered how she knew he was at the door. Well, she had probably heard the sound of his car. That was the most likely explanation for how she knew to open the door before he

  • Secret Crush   Talking It Through

All Zach wanted was to never have to talk with his father again, but he wondered what this was about now. He stood up and followed him, but his mind was back there on the bed with Chloe. "What's this about, father?" he asked, but his father said nothing. Sighing, he shook his head and followed him in silently, not saying anything after that. When they got to his office, Zach silently closed the door before turning back to face his father, watching as he walked to the window to stand over it. Be would have preferred to open the door of the room and just let them talk so that it would be easier fir him to escape, but he also didn't want it to seem like he had anything to run for. His father took his sweet time before he spoke though, clearing his throat even, so that his voice would come out in his desired way. "I'm going on a business trip," his father started. "And what the heck does that have to do with me?" Zach wanted to ask, but instead, he stood there quietly without

  • Secret Crush   Talking about the past Too

They were still on his bed, but they had stopped kissing, and Chloe was now sitting in front of Zach instead of his lap, their head pushed together as they spoke in a hushed tone even though the room was empty. “Wait a minute, Zach. I have a question for you.” Chloe said and she pulled back a little, and Zach's hands around her loosen. He looked at her with his eyes squinted, wanting to know what was going on. “What is the question about though?” e asked. “Can you tell me what happened with your mom? I know she died, and because of that, you hate your father and his wife so badly. If it's not too much, can you tell me what happened there?” she asked. Zach stared at Chloe for a full minute, contemplating on what to say and what not to say. He knew Chloe meant no harm and she was just trying to get to know him even better than she did before. He decided it was best to tell her about it so that she would understand him even more. She would see that he hadn't just woke up one day and

  • Secret Crush   Talking about the Past

A week later, Zach called Chloe and invited her over to his house and Chloe wondered why he was asking her over. She had been cooking for her siblings when she received his call that afternoon, so she had to finish up before leaving. As she walked to the bus stop to get on the bus, her phone rang again, and she picked it up to see that it was her mother. After the day her father had caught her over at the Elliot's house, he had realized that they needed to spend more time as a family, and he had had that conversation with her one night after she managed to come home from work. It turned out that the only reason she kept taking shifts over and over was because of a promotion that she was eyeing, but she could have just explained that. After that, her mother had spoken to her and told her she just needed two days, because the period for working for the promotion was over then, and ever since, she had been cutting back on work and showing up at home most nights. It wasn't entirely the

  • Secret Crush   Gisting Hailey

“Hey, you!“ that was the first thing Hailey said to her when she opened the door of her house that afternoon, a mischievous smile on her face. Chloe shook her head at her as she followed her into the house and then up the stairs to her room. “You’re definitely so up for hearing what I have for you, aren't you?” “What? Did you finally grow some balls to kiss that boy?” she asked and she turned to look at her over her shoulder, right before she opened up the door of her room. Rolling her eyes, Chloe chuckled. “No, but I have more juicer news. You won't believe what happened at all.” She said. Hailey plop down on her bed and then she turned to face her, all fully ready to hear the gist she had for her. “Out with it, now.” She said, hitting her on the arm playfully. “Ow, Hailey. What do you think you're doing? You’re not going to let me get to it if you continue doing that.” She said, then just to tease her, she asked. “Wait, are we alone at home or something?” she was just trying to

  • Secret Crush   Just Maybe

The argument with her father wasn't as she had expected, but it was long, and by the time he was able to convince him that Zach wasn't her boyfriend, she went out of the house to go to Hailey, also surprised that he let her, even after knowing she had lied about sleeping over there before. She had told him she was going to have a sleepover at Hailey's and that he could follow her there if he didn't believe her, or call his informant, Mr. Elliot-Day if he didn't believe her, and surprisingly, he had just rolled his eyes at her and nodded his eyes. She still wonder what Mr. Elliot-Day had told her father, but it was all good, because as long as she wasn't grounded or anything, then it was probably not something she should be worried about. One thing she was grateful for was the fact that her mother wasn't there at the time. It was still two o'clock in the afternoon, and she shouldn't be going to a sleepover this early, but it was Hailey’s house, so she needed to do just that, or that

  • Secret Crush   Trouble for Chloe

Chloe used her hands to cover up her face, embarrassed at the things Zach said she did, the ones she couldn't still remember properly. She knew she hadn't taken in the intake of the alcohol properly, so they were a fat chance he wasn't lying or pulling her legs. “You were so bad last night, trying to send me to an early grave. I wonder why you were so bent on seducing me last night, though, but I guess it was the alcohol.” He said. He had started to drive and was somehow stuck in a little bit of traffic, but still, he wasn't looking at her at all. He was so focused on the road ahead of him one would think he had his eyes glued there. He definitely was avoiding her gaze. She turned up the corner of her mouth in a surprised smile, squinting her eyes as she looked at him. Was it possible that she had succeeded in turning him on or something? She wondered for a second, then she leaned over the console that was between them and asked him, whispering into his ear. “Wait, did I succeed in

  • Secret Crush   Close Proximity

Can you please take me home, Zach?” she asked him after they had talked about their families, looking at him with a small smile on her face. Zach nodded his head in agreement. “Of course, little bird. Just give me a second to get something better on.” He said as he gave her a small smile. He pushed Chloe off him as gently as possible, and then he walked to his closet, winking at Chloe over his shoulder as he realized she was watching him go. Luckily, she didn't flush when he looked at him until he turned back and walked into the closet. She reddened when he was gone, blowing out a breath. Zach was just really handsome and being in close proximity with him like this was really making butterflies fluttering in her belly. About a few minutes later, he walked out and told her it was time to leave. As she stood up to follow him, she caught her leg and twisted her ankle, going down in a fall. Before she could get to the ground, Zach caught her, but she was still flailing around, and t

  • Secret Crush   Busted

The last thing he now expected was for his daughter to be here, walking into their dining room with confidence as if she belonged there. When he had arrived at this house, the one he happened to pass by two times every day to and from work without ever entering, he had been in awe of how beautiful the place was. And he was glad he had been invited. One could tell that the owners of the house were wealthy because everything in the house spoke of it even. He had expected the expanse of this all because he could see the outside shone and stood out. As he got to the house, a woman,
