At school, Zach went about his day like nothing was going on, even though all he could think about through his classes was Chloe and the things she was doing to him.

He was leaving his history class after the teacher had called him aside to give him the thumb up about his assignment, the same one Chloe had helped him with when he heard someone talking about what had happened at Liam’s place the night before.

Well, they were in Leighton High, a place where news traveled faster than connection to a fast network, so he wasn't surprised, but it prompted him. He had to go see her to get her out of his head or he would not be able to concentrate on the rest of the classes. He was going to have to find Hailey first to find Chloe because that girl sure knew how to hide herself.

He searched the halls and then some classes and finally the library where he found her in the library, behind one of the shelves in the biology and anatomy section.

“Hi, Hailey!” he greeted as he walked to her, try

"Gross, Chloe. You should go clean up this mess!” Hailey whispered before the teacher sent Ella to the sick bay. She nodded her head and said. "Yes, I'll go grab a shower in the old locker room and come back to join you in the cafeteria.” She said. Chloe looked around her at the people who were there. Some were laughing, some were scrunching up their face at the vomit on her, while others had pity in their eyes. “Y'all shouldn't pity me, I didn't die,” she thought as she grabbed her bag and walked out of the class. She walked to her locker, thankfully she had some clothes there, as she had realized she needed more than one piece of clothing to survive in this school after the mess with Dana. She had remembered seeing her at the party last night giving her the stink eye. Who cared? She sighed and pushed her bag into the locker, then she grabbed a nylon bag she had there, put in the clothes she would be wearing, and walked towards the old locker room in the abandoned building, hopin

  • Secret Crush   Cat Got Your Tongue?

Zach stood there with her, knowing his plans were working, and his intimidating tactics were on par. He watched as her face flushed and the heat flooded her body from the neck down, and that made him pleased, but he made sure nothing was displayed on his face. There was no way he would smirk after what he had done because even though he enjoyed the kind of uneasiness he had brought her, he knew deep down this was still a violation of her privacy and body, in a way, and it was only something a creep would consider doing. “Maybe you're a creep, a very idiotic one at that!” his mind said to him and he nodded mentally in agreement. Maybe he truly was, because here he was, standing there with his roaming eyes over her body when he should have left the moment that towel dropped from her body. He was reluctant to look at her now, as if he didn't want to do that any longer and he blew out a breath, his chest heaving a little bit, but then his eyes came back up to lock with hers, and his b

  • Secret Crush   Mistaken

Chloe stood there with tears in her eyes as she watched him leave, asking herself why she had been so angry in the first place. He was right about so many things, and one was the fact that other girls wouldn't have reacted that way. That was true. The majority of them would have concluded he liked that, others would have asked him his reason for that, but she had acted like a fool, and that had brought all of these on. She didn't even care that she was half naked, she wanted to run after him, but she knew he was angry, and would probably fight even more. As the tears rushed down her face, she thought it was better to just let it flow, and she cried, thankful he was gone now because crying in his presence would have embarrassed him even more. She had kept it in as he said those words, and had almost exploded, but she had been able to avoid it until he was gone. If she didn't let it out like this and absorb it in, she was not going to feel better. Quickly, she walked to the sink to

  • Secret Crush   Visiting Zach

“I'll apologize when he comes over to my house.” That was what she kept telling herself, but it's been two days of the days he was supposed to show up at her house, five days altogether, but he didn't show up. He didn't even show up for movie night on Friday, and Hailey had blamed her for it. Today at school, he had avoided her, and even in the classes they shared on Monday, he didn't show up, but he was in school. She sighed as she dropped her phone on the bed, and then her bag. Dropping on the bed, she closed her eyes. A lot was going through her mind, her assignment, Hailey's drama over Zach's matter and giving her an ultimatum about dragging Zach to movie night if she had to, and her mother's drama. “I don't even have the strength to talk to her.” She said to herself mentally. She thought of what to do about Zach since he was showing up at her house. The best thing was to go to him, she supposed. She would have to go there when she was done getting things together. • Secret Crush   Skipping Heart

Chloe’s heart skipped a beat as she prepared herself to face Zach. She watched Mrs. Fletcher walk away before knocking on the door gently, twice. When she heard a muffled voice ask her to come in, she took a deep breath and pushed open the doors, stepping into a space that reflected his personality.“Oh wow!” she said mentally, looking around at the décor of the room. The room was tastefully decorated with a blend of modern and vintage elements, giving it a comfortable and inviting feel. It was a sanctuary that seemed to encapsulate Zach’s essence.“I can get lost in the feeling this room elude.” She whispered to herself. She was surprised at how well arranged it was, and clean, and she wondered if Zach decorated this room himself and looked after it as well. He sure had a weird but very alluring taste. Although the room was painted black, and the king-sized bed pushed against the wall was all in black, even the sheets on it, the room was still looking so bright and beautiful. She

  • Secret Crush   Ended In A Fight

In an instant, Zach pushed off the bathroom door and walked toward Chloe. As she instinctively backed away, her back came up against the door, leaving her with no place or room to escape. He intruded on her personal space, placing his hands on both sides of her head against the door. His eyes bore into hers, and she felt her breath catch in her throat.“What are you doing, Zach?” she asked, her voice coming out a little bit shaky. Oh shit, that wasn't good. It was as good as telling him he had gotten to her. Instead of answering, Zach raised his hand to her face to touch her, tracing the pad of his finger against the soft skin there.“Don’t touch me,” she whispered, intending to yell but failing to summon the necessary volume. Despite keeping her gaze fixed on the floor to avoid looking into his eyes; eyes that scared the shit out of her, she could feel the intensity of his stare, as if he was peering into her soul.Damn, she was at his house, his room even, so there was no way she c

  • Secret Crush   Turmoil Inside

Zach stood there, frozen in place, as Chloe’s defiant words echoed in his mind. Her unexpected visit had caught him off guard, stirring up a flurry of emotions he had never experienced before. It wasn’t anger that surged within him, but a turbulent mix of desire, confusion, and a longing he couldn’t quite comprehend.Damn, he hated she made him feel all of those things. He had never had to feel anything for anyone before, so it shook him. Of all the people in the world, it was this girl he fell for, the one who didn't care what she thought of others, or what she said to them as long as she passed her message across. Imagine that she had said she came here to his house from her place to apologize, only to get into a fight with him, and say all she could just to shake him. As he watched her retreating figure, a battle waged within him. Part of him wanted to chase after her, to hold her in his arms and apologize for every hurtful word he had ever uttered. But another part of him, the p

  • Secret Crush   Shouldn't Shape Us

Zach found himself on the balcony of his room, seeking solace in the conversation he desperately needed from someone, anyone. He heard a knock on the door of his room, his head turning in his head towards the sound. He wondered who it was at the door but he knew it couldn't be Chloe. She was long gone by now, he was sure. “Come on in,” he said and Mrs. Fletcher poked her head into his room. Mrs. Fletcher was a very caring and wise housekeeper, and he loved it when they had conversations. She greeted him with a warm smile as she walked into his room. “Chloe is gone.” Mrs. Fletcher said and he nodded, and then he started to talk about his confusion and emotions regarding Chloe. “I just don’t know what to do with all these. It’s just so confusing and frustrating for me. She’s right in front of me, yet she looks so out of grasp.” He said. Mrs. Fletcher listened attentively, and she realized that all she could do was provide guidance and reassurance. “You know this isn’t about y

The air felt so heavy around Zach as he approached Chloe's house, his breath forming clouds in the chilly evening. “Oh shit, I’m nervous.” He whispered. It was as if he was there to ask for Chloe’s hand in marriage rather than just having a causal dinner with her family. He couldn't help but feel a flutter of nervous excitement in his chest at the thought of marrying her though, because he would like that very much.Although, Zach had eaten with Chloe before, but tonight was different; it wasn't just another dinner. It was a gathering, an invitation from Chloe's family so that they could meet him official and probably talk about his relationship with Chloe. As he reached the front door, it swung open right before he could knock on the door, revealing Hailey, Chloe's best friend and his own friend as well, and he wondered how she knew he was at the door. Well, she had probably heard the sound of his car. That was the most likely explanation for how she knew to open the door before he

  • Secret Crush   Talking It Through

All Zach wanted was to never have to talk with his father again, but he wondered what this was about now. He stood up and followed him, but his mind was back there on the bed with Chloe. "What's this about, father?" he asked, but his father said nothing. Sighing, he shook his head and followed him in silently, not saying anything after that. When they got to his office, Zach silently closed the door before turning back to face his father, watching as he walked to the window to stand over it. Be would have preferred to open the door of the room and just let them talk so that it would be easier fir him to escape, but he also didn't want it to seem like he had anything to run for. His father took his sweet time before he spoke though, clearing his throat even, so that his voice would come out in his desired way. "I'm going on a business trip," his father started. "And what the heck does that have to do with me?" Zach wanted to ask, but instead, he stood there quietly without

  • Secret Crush   Talking about the past Too

They were still on his bed, but they had stopped kissing, and Chloe was now sitting in front of Zach instead of his lap, their head pushed together as they spoke in a hushed tone even though the room was empty. “Wait a minute, Zach. I have a question for you.” Chloe said and she pulled back a little, and Zach's hands around her loosen. He looked at her with his eyes squinted, wanting to know what was going on. “What is the question about though?” e asked. “Can you tell me what happened with your mom? I know she died, and because of that, you hate your father and his wife so badly. If it's not too much, can you tell me what happened there?” she asked. Zach stared at Chloe for a full minute, contemplating on what to say and what not to say. He knew Chloe meant no harm and she was just trying to get to know him even better than she did before. He decided it was best to tell her about it so that she would understand him even more. She would see that he hadn't just woke up one day and

  • Secret Crush   Talking about the Past

A week later, Zach called Chloe and invited her over to his house and Chloe wondered why he was asking her over. She had been cooking for her siblings when she received his call that afternoon, so she had to finish up before leaving. As she walked to the bus stop to get on the bus, her phone rang again, and she picked it up to see that it was her mother. After the day her father had caught her over at the Elliot's house, he had realized that they needed to spend more time as a family, and he had had that conversation with her one night after she managed to come home from work. It turned out that the only reason she kept taking shifts over and over was because of a promotion that she was eyeing, but she could have just explained that. After that, her mother had spoken to her and told her she just needed two days, because the period for working for the promotion was over then, and ever since, she had been cutting back on work and showing up at home most nights. It wasn't entirely the

  • Secret Crush   Gisting Hailey

“Hey, you!“ that was the first thing Hailey said to her when she opened the door of her house that afternoon, a mischievous smile on her face. Chloe shook her head at her as she followed her into the house and then up the stairs to her room. “You’re definitely so up for hearing what I have for you, aren't you?” “What? Did you finally grow some balls to kiss that boy?” she asked and she turned to look at her over her shoulder, right before she opened up the door of her room. Rolling her eyes, Chloe chuckled. “No, but I have more juicer news. You won't believe what happened at all.” She said. Hailey plop down on her bed and then she turned to face her, all fully ready to hear the gist she had for her. “Out with it, now.” She said, hitting her on the arm playfully. “Ow, Hailey. What do you think you're doing? You’re not going to let me get to it if you continue doing that.” She said, then just to tease her, she asked. “Wait, are we alone at home or something?” she was just trying to

  • Secret Crush   Just Maybe

The argument with her father wasn't as she had expected, but it was long, and by the time he was able to convince him that Zach wasn't her boyfriend, she went out of the house to go to Hailey, also surprised that he let her, even after knowing she had lied about sleeping over there before. She had told him she was going to have a sleepover at Hailey's and that he could follow her there if he didn't believe her, or call his informant, Mr. Elliot-Day if he didn't believe her, and surprisingly, he had just rolled his eyes at her and nodded his eyes. She still wonder what Mr. Elliot-Day had told her father, but it was all good, because as long as she wasn't grounded or anything, then it was probably not something she should be worried about. One thing she was grateful for was the fact that her mother wasn't there at the time. It was still two o'clock in the afternoon, and she shouldn't be going to a sleepover this early, but it was Hailey’s house, so she needed to do just that, or that

  • Secret Crush   Trouble for Chloe

Chloe used her hands to cover up her face, embarrassed at the things Zach said she did, the ones she couldn't still remember properly. She knew she hadn't taken in the intake of the alcohol properly, so they were a fat chance he wasn't lying or pulling her legs. “You were so bad last night, trying to send me to an early grave. I wonder why you were so bent on seducing me last night, though, but I guess it was the alcohol.” He said. He had started to drive and was somehow stuck in a little bit of traffic, but still, he wasn't looking at her at all. He was so focused on the road ahead of him one would think he had his eyes glued there. He definitely was avoiding her gaze. She turned up the corner of her mouth in a surprised smile, squinting her eyes as she looked at him. Was it possible that she had succeeded in turning him on or something? She wondered for a second, then she leaned over the console that was between them and asked him, whispering into his ear. “Wait, did I succeed in

  • Secret Crush   Close Proximity

Can you please take me home, Zach?” she asked him after they had talked about their families, looking at him with a small smile on her face. Zach nodded his head in agreement. “Of course, little bird. Just give me a second to get something better on.” He said as he gave her a small smile. He pushed Chloe off him as gently as possible, and then he walked to his closet, winking at Chloe over his shoulder as he realized she was watching him go. Luckily, she didn't flush when he looked at him until he turned back and walked into the closet. She reddened when he was gone, blowing out a breath. Zach was just really handsome and being in close proximity with him like this was really making butterflies fluttering in her belly. About a few minutes later, he walked out and told her it was time to leave. As she stood up to follow him, she caught her leg and twisted her ankle, going down in a fall. Before she could get to the ground, Zach caught her, but she was still flailing around, and t

The last thing he now expected was for his daughter to be here, walking into their dining room with confidence as if she belonged there.
