BLAIR POV

I stared at Ronnell, my gaze lingering. For the first time since we’d entered his office, the flawless veneer he usually presented had cracked, revealing a raw vulnerability beneath. I couldn’t claim to understand the complexities of dating a wealthy man, but I could empathise with the challenges. Trust must be a scarce commodity, always shadowed by doubts about another person’s intentions.

I knew I had ended up in Ronnell's bed because of my growing feelings for him, and those feelings wouldn’t have changed if he was as broke as me. He probably knew that too, but I didn't doubt that he could question it sometimes.

“I know that uncertainty and distrust is no place to begin a relationship,” I softly began.

His nostril flared. “I never said I didn't trust you. I do trust you, and I already explained my reasoning.”

“And I trust you.” I sighed another breath. Leaning forward, I picked up the pen he had laid beside the papers. “I'm going to sign these papers so we can move on
