Stop thinking!

I can't think about this anymore!

With my head throbbing, I finished washing up and buried myself in my blankets like an ostrich. I wanted to fall asleep quickly, to forget all the chaotic thoughts in my mind. But no matter how hard I tried, various images kept flashing through my head, some clear, some hazy.

Two hours passed, and I still wasn't the least bit sleepy. I got up and opened my bedside drawer, searching for melatonin and sleeping pills. After losing my child, I went through a period where I couldn't sleep at night. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw my lost baby and the cruel faces of Max and Annie.

I tried many ways to help me sleep, but nothing worked. I eventually relied on sleeping pills to rest. Having finally broken free from them, I couldn't let myself fall back into that trap. I threw the sleeping pills back in the drawer and took a melatonin instead, then lay back down.
