George couldn't close his mouth, which was left open in shock as he gazed at them kissing so intensely. He could feel his adrenaline rush, his veins popping out in anger and jealousy.

He could move on with his life, but not Lydia. Lydia couldn't get over him so fast, she loved him and should still be sulking over their failed relationship, not flirting with a man, especially in his presence.

She no longer had a fear that he could rip her apart.

“Sir, don't let them provoke you,” his lawyer said, but his words fell on deaf ears.

George rushed to them and tried attacking Lydia, he almost grabbed her hair, but Carson pulled her away in time.

His lawyer was able to get hold of him. He was truly displaying his aggressive side and people around saw it.

“You bitch, you are such a whore. You gave him your body so that he could defend you!” George was affronted and was struggling to get away from his lawyer's grip.

Carson tried moving forward to punch him in the face, but Lydia blocked

Alma held her cheek in pain and tears slipped from her eyes, she couldn't believe that he slapped her. George had never raised his hand to her in the past. He was always gentle with her and treated her like a queen, but today he treated her like a mere servant. George turned away and rubbed his forehead gently, he didn't mean to hit, but she provoked him with all her yelling. Alma was about to walk away, but George grabbed her arm and pulled her to himself, she kept wriggling from his tight grip. She was offended. “Please release me right now” Alma pleaded and cried dramatically. “George, leave me!.” George hugged her to himself and tightened his arms around her. The moment he embraced her, her anger melted like wax.“You angered me with your constant talking and gibbering. You should know that I have never loved Lydia, it has always been you. If I win this case, then we can make Lydia our servant including the child” George said. She pulled away from him and pursed her lips. Ge

'Did I hear well, did she just accept to be my girlfriend so quickly? I must be dreaming,' Carson thought in amazement. When she asked if she could reject him, he didn't expect her to accept almost immediately. He thought that she would need a few days to think over things before making a decision, but he was wrong. “Carson.”He jerked from his thoughts and looked at her with bulging eyes. “I'm so surprised, I sincerely didn't expect you to accept me so easily, I'm not trying to say that you're an easy woman but…” “It's alright, you don't have to explain yourself so much,” Lydia said and held his face in her soft palms. She moved much closer to him, then transferred her hands to his neck, circling them around it. “I accepted not because you've helped me so much but the feeling I have any time I am close to you, I have these strange butterflies fluttering in my stomach,” Lydia confessed and brought her lips closer to his. “Carson, you made me feel what I have never felt for anyon

They kissed again, but this time it was more affectionate and sweet. They pulled away from each other and smiled. “I should kiss Khloé and Gary goodnight then go to my room,” Lydia said with a little smile and stood up from the bed. “Why?” Lydia raised her eyebrows, perplexed. “Why what?” “I mean, why sleep in your room, why not stay here with me?” Carson requested. Carson had a sly smile on his lips without knowing. Though he had good intentions, his body language was telling something else. She was doubtful about sleeping so close to him throughout the night. They had been close to each other but not for that long, she didn't know what her reaction would be if he tried touching her sexually. Kissing was fun and tolerable, but having sex, scared her. She didn't know how to act normally with a man because her previous sex life had been filled with struggles. Carson was meant for her, and that's why he could charm her and pull her out of the loveless darkness that overwhelmed h

Lydia's moans grew a bit louder in between the kisses as his hands massaged her breasts a little. Carson's hands soon cupped them in his palms, slowly caressing them more fiercely by the second. He released one of her breasts and pulled the top of her office shirt, causing the buttons to break. He stopped kissing her and took his lips to her cleavages.“Hmm,” Lydia moaned. She was so carried away, but something came to her mind, the memories of how George used to touch her aggressively. She didn't want to remember it, She was trying to wave it off her mind, but it stuck there like glue. It felt like all of Carson's movement irritated her skin, she was no longer enjoying it because it felt like George was touching her all over again. “Stop, stop!” Carson came to his senses and raised his head to look at her, she looked like a scared kitten. There was fear on her face and her lips were trembling. Quickly, he got off her and stood straight. “Are you alright?” He asked in concern.

Carson went to the station and made a report to the cops about the connection with what happened with Khloé whom he referred to as his daughter. “Can I talk to her?” Carson questioned the cop. “You can record our conversation because I'm sure that I can bring the truth out of her.” The detective had said that she had been denying the allegations and claiming that someone framed her to destroy her career, she even dared to mention names to implicate other people. The detective accepted but told him that if he tried to change her statement with any threats, he wouldn't be allowed to see her again. Carson promised not to do something like that. He was allowed inside and Amelia was shocked to see him. “Carson, you came” Amelia couldn't help but smile at him. She thought that he had come to defend her. Carson sat in front of her but felt his blood boil. He wanted to strangle her to death for trying to kill that poor child. “I have hired a lawyer, but if you want to defend me, then I

Lydia felt threatened and noticed that her motives weren't just to take Gary, but also to have Carson to herself. “You've got some nerves to disappear and come back like nothing happened. Gary had problems, but you were absent when he needed you the most. He's getting better without you, you can't ruin that” Lydia said with a heavy frown on her face. “Ma'am Anny!” Lydia yelled. “Ma'am, Anny!” Ma'am Anny rushed from the stairs and met with her. “Why did you allow this woman into the house ?” Lydia questioned, she was displeased with her. Ma'am Anny looked in confusion and replied; “She said that she was one of Carson's clients and I allowed her inside then told her to wait because you informed me that you and Carson would be returning this morning.”“She's Gary's mother,” Lydia said, shocking the woman.Lydia laid a disgusted gaze on Wendy, she had lied to ma'am Anny to get access into the house. Without wasting a single second, Carson pushed her away and slapped her so hard in the face that she screamed and fell to the floor. Carson immediately wiped his lips, he was so disgusted by it. He had never laid his hands on a woman before, but he couldn't tame his anger. After four years of dumping Gary with him, she dared to show her face again and even kissed him like nothing had happened. How shameless was she? “How dare you kiss me? Aren't you mortified by your character? You left your son and the first thing you think of doing is kissing me, you didn't even care to ask about his well-being!” Carson yelled, his face wrinkled in rage. Wendy stayed on the floor, crying. The corner of her lips was bleeding, and it felt like the slap had affected her brain because she was presently dizzy. Carson grabbed her from the floor and held her arms tightly like he was going to crush them. “C-Carson, please” Wendy cried in pain. “That slap is the least you deserve for everything that y

Carson and Lydia got ready for work in the morning. The children would resume school, but they would be going with their guards. Wendy was back, and she served as a threat coupled with the other people that might be ready to harm them. They were presently having breakfast when Ma'am Anny came and whispered something into Carson's ear. Carson's expression turned sour immediately. “Tell them not to allow her inside; if they dare do it, then they can kiss their jobs goodbye” Carson instructed. Ma'am Anny nodded and went to deliver his message without changing a single word. Carson left the dining table and Lydia quickly followed him. They both entered his room and none of them spoke. Carson had lost his appetite and he wasn't in the mood to have a conversation. “It was her, right?” Lydia questioned with her hands folded under her breasts. Carson sighed and sat heavily on the bed. He looked so distressed. Lydia went to sit by his side and tried soothing him with a few words. “Yo

The next morning, Lydia woke up by Carson's side. She had a beautiful and joyful smile on her lips. Waking up by his side was the most amazing thing ever, and the scent of cologne was still on him. She brought her nose close to his chest and nuzzled him. Lydia grinned and raised her hand, she stared at the beautiful ring. “My name is Mrs. Lydia Walters' Lydia chuckled and kissed her ring. “It's so beautiful.” She was still staring at her ring when she suddenly had the urge to vomit, she touched her stomach as it churned. “Did I eat something wrong yesterday? Lydia pouted her lips. The nauseating feeling stopped for a while, but then the bile rushed up her throat and she couldn't keep it in. She rushed out of the bed and threw up into the sink. The sounds of vomiting woke Carson up. He wanted to sleep back but realized something was wrong with his wife. He sat up and rubbed his eyes. He asked her, worriedly. “Love, are you alright?” He still heard her throwing up and had to

Carson turned back with a little smile on his lips, his threats had worked. He wasn't planning on doing any of those things he said, but he decided to act as one of the bad guys. One can't stick to a technique and tactic all the time. Carson returned to his seat and called a prison warder inside to listen to what he had said. Carson also brought out his phone and decided to make a recording. “Can you repeat what you had said?” Carson requested. The man sighed and said everything that had transpired between him and Alma. Carson was delighted and left from there as the warder was taken away. He was going to face his penalty. Carson contacted the police to visit George's house where Alma stayed and also to arrest Felix in his house. Carson planned on also releasing the recording through his Father's connections. It would be anonymous and would ruin Felix's chances of becoming the governor. Carson was excited about his plans but would execute them after they were both arrested fo

George had killed a man, strangled him during the traffic, and taken his cab as a means of transportation. Presently, he walked to Mrs. Isobel's limp body and carried her into the back seat of the cab. He closed the door and entered the front seat. He wasn't ready to drive her anywhere in particular, he would make sure that he was far from a place where the cops could find him. He would question her in the car, but he had to wait till she awakened. He had planned to lie to Alma that he couldn't stand the boredom and had to leave the cabin. Anyway, she believed every lie he spoke.George drove for a long while before parking near a certain roadside, he waited till she awakened, which happened a few minutes after the drive. “Hm,” Mrs. Isobel moaned in pain. She felt a pounding pain in the back of her head, her hand reached for it and there was a little bloodstain. “Oh my God” She cried and slowly sat up, her blurry eyes cleared little by little. “Who are you?” Mrs. Isobel asked i

“Why are you smirking? Do you find the situation amusing or what?” Alma frowned at him. “I'm sorry, but I've thought about my decision, and I'm ready to accept your suggestion for plastic surgery,” George stuttered.Alma screamed excitedly and hugged him tightly.“That's the spirit, I'm so glad that you have thought more carefully about my proposal. I promise you that once you do this surgery and probably practice how to change other things about yourself. Everything would be great” Alma giggled. “The cops would be off your back and the both of us can travel the world after our wedding.” George rolled his eyes but faked a laugh. “I won't do the surgery now, give me some time to have my face then after a few days from now, I can do the surgery” George smiled and pushed her away from him. “I'm so happy” Alma clapped excitedly and tilted her head from side to side like a child. “I'm not too happy about losing my handsome face, but it's worth the change,” George said and acted like

“No, I'm not interested in altering my appearance” George disagreed firmly. “Why? It's a suitable option for you never to be found, why would you lose such a chance, just to stay locked up in this wretched cabin” Alma argued with him. “I'm not interested in continuing the conversation, I won't change my appearance to fort anything in this world. The best thing I love seeing when I look at my reflection in the mirror is my face and nothing more” George said and turned his face away from her. Alma gasped and was offended by his selfishness. “I want you to have a free life, we can fake your death that you were found and killed. It would make a lot of sense when I start dating the new you. Why are you acting so selfishly towards me?” Alma said, her voice cracking at the end of her statement. “I'm not being selfish but standing by my own rules. I get that you went the extra mile to bring me out of jail, but that doesn't give you the right to order me around” George frowned. Alma gasp

“What did you just say?” Lydia panicked and sprang up. That news was so unexpected and shocking, she never expected to hear that the man who had ruined her life was out of prison, free to do the unimaginable. “How did he come out of prison? What exactly happened?” Evelyn asked, worried over the safety of Lydia. Carson shook his head. “I still don't know, but I'm going to that fucking prison to find out.” “How can he escape in just a week of being there? Many people have spent a decade trying to escape prison but haven't been able to, how can he make it seem so easy?” Evelyn asked questions that couldn't be answered by any of them. “The kids, we left the kids alone,” Lydia said agitated, and tried running out of the church. Carson held her back and pulled her into a hug. She was anxious, and her breathing had fastened like she was on the verge of having a panic attack. “There's nothing to be scared about, the children are secured, but George can be capricious. The kids were done with their exams, and they were at home. It was the weekend, Saturday specifically, and Lydia stayed at home. The kids weren't easy to control at all, Lydia realized how much they refused to listen to her. They listened more to Mrs. Isobel. This made Lydia a bit jealous and angry. She had to give Mrs. Isobel some hours off so that she could take care of the kids herself. “Both of you, sit down!” Lydia instructed and pointed at the couch. Gary and Khloé went to have a sit, seeing that their mother was more serious than ever. “It's not good to prove stubborn towards your parents, it causes sadness. Do you want Mommy to be sad?” Lydia pouted at her lips after speaking. They both shook their heads. “Alright, since you don't want me to be sad, then listen,” Lydia said. “It's truly depressing when I keep talking and you both keep disrespecting me by not listening!” “What are you supposed to do?” Lydia asked, looking angry, though she wasn't so angry.
