Walking beside Kai as we reach the area where the Ice Lily grows, I’m in awe at the sight of the flowers in bloom. The scent is sweet with a bite of cold. My eyes widen at the sight.

I move closer as I go to my knees in front of one. I reach out to touch it but draw my hand back. The petals are icy blue with white edging; the stem is white.
