Ana’s POV

I slam the door closed and pace in front of the window. My heart thuds rapidly in my chest and I take deep breaths to calm myself. My hands are cold and I can feel the blood draining away from my face.

How did this happen? What grave offence had I committed that the moon goddess had to punish so cruelly? And how was I going to explain that I was a living fraud? Possessing the body of another woman? If Len and Logan, not to mention the rest of the pack, found out that I was an imposter, they might have me killed for deceiving them.

I pace the length of the room, running my fingers through my hair. My eyes shift rapidly as I try to make sense of the events of the past few days. It’s all too much and suddenly, I feel like there isn’t enough oxygen in the room.

I’m about to step out of the room again when the doors swing open and Len and Logan walk in, both looking concerned. My mouth drops open in shock but I school my expression quickly and pin them with a look.

Len’s POVI pulled my arm from under Selene’s neck where she had fallen asleep, exhausted yet and turned over onto my side with my arm propped up against head. In the quiet of the large room, I watched her sleep. My ears picked up every small inhale into her lungs, the soft rustling of sheets as she snuggled into Logan’s arms. Selene looked… softer, warmer even. It was an odd thing to think or even realize especially since this was a woman I had known and loved for far too long. Which was exactly why none of it made sense. Selene wasn’t a soft woman. Sure, she was far more beautiful than words could describe and her womanly nature wasn’t ever in question but one wouldn’t look at Selene and call her soft. No, she was powerful and passionate and fierce, in bed and out. She was never vulnerable, never shy or meek. Her strength and power were one of the many things that I loved about her. Yet, the woman lying next to me wasn’t that. She was the same but different. Her face looked peacef

Ana’s POVThe sun streamed in through the open curtains, warming my face. I moaned and rolled away from the unwanted light, seeking any of the warm bodies I had slept with the night before. My eyes pried open slowly when my hands met cold, empty sheets on either side. I sat up carefully, still sore between my legs and frowned as I realized I was alone and had been for a few hours.I blinked away sleep from my eyes and took a look around the large, extravagantly decorated room. It felt like… too much. It was nothing like my old room in my old life. That’s because its my room, not yours.I frowned even deeper at Selene’s voice in my head. I still hadn't gotten used to hearing my wolf, considering she died when I turned nineteen and none of the pack doctors could figure out why.Selene, I greeted.Good to know you aren’t shutting me out, considering you did just that last night while fucking my mates.I could tell that Selena was joking from the lightheartedness of her tone but I felt m

Ana’s POV“Selene!” I spin at the sound of my name and suck in a frightened breath when I realize Len is standing right behind me. I stumble back, a hand held to my chest as I bite out a curse.“How did you get over here so fast?” I shudder out, looking up at him.“You’re faster.” Len said, his words cold and tight. I took in his facial expressions and my eyes widened when I realized he was mad. A muscle in his jaw ticked, probably because he was grinding it and he was even bigger than I knew he was up close and slick with sweat from the morning sun.“Yeah.” I answered weakly, unsure of what he expected me to say.“Don’t you agree?” Len prodded, taking a step forward. I took one back.“Uh, w-what do you mean?” I asked, blinking up at him.“You’re faster than me. Stronger too. Or don’t you agree? Do you think I could beat you in a race? Right now?” Len said, his lips quivering into a sinister smile, completely devoid of humor. I swallowed thickly, unsure what was happening. My heart

Ana's POVWhat are you doing here?” I ask, scrambling to my feet. Zach grinned at me even as his eyes assessed the situation. He lingered momentarily on Len before looking back at me.“Just stopping by to check in on you. Although, I was indeed not expecting to find you in such a… precarious position.” Zach said with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. “Len.” He said, finally acknowledging the man who had been on top of me a few seconds ago.“Alpha Zach.” Len responds, his voice steady, emotionless.“I trust you're feeling better now, Selene. You certainly look it.” Zach said, his eyes subtly moving down my body and up again.“I'm perfectly fine. The only thing I have a problem with is you being here.” I said sharply, looking him dead in the eyes.“Selene…”“No. I made it clear last night. I reject you. I don't want you as my mate. And I certainly don't need an alliance with your pack.” Ana, Selene called in my head but I shut her down.Zach shared a glance with Len who remai

ANA'S POVMy heart was racing as I walked back into the palace. What the hell had gotten into me? I couldn't even blame myself. I was going through so many emotions at the same time. My eyes were tearing up as I finally stormed into my room, slamming the door behind me. I sat on the bed, trying to catch my breath. It wasn't working. I tried looking at myself in the mirror, but I knew I wouldn't be able to face myself either. I might have disgraced Zach, but the look on his face hurt me. No. I couldn't feel any kind of compassion towards him. Not after everything that he had done. Not after everything he put me through. So why the hell was I feeling bad?I was still lost in my thoughts when the door burst open. I knew who it was before I even turned. “What the hell was that for?” Len asked, with his brows furrowed. “None of your business,” I muttered, and he was beside me before I even blinked. “You can't just humiliate the man without a good reason. And as far as I remember, you

ANA'S POV Logan's hands were protectively on my thigh through the drive. He was continuously looking between me, and his hand on my thigh like there was something wrong. ‘Take it off, I don't allow that,’ Selene said immediately, and I was throwing Logan's hands like it was the most disgusting thing to exist. He chuckled immediately, like it felt right. Who were these men? And how the hell did Selene live with being so aggressive? And to think they were comfortable with it. It was obvious that Selene was actually a nice person. Maybe not physically, but at heart. She had planned a visit to an orphanage right? Only a nice person would do that. “We're here, Alpha,” the driver said, and Len was already out, opening the door for me. I looked up at him, trying not to allow the butterflies to take over at the sight of him. I got out, and he had his hand firmly on my waist as he led me into the building. I paused in my tracks as I looked at the orphanage. There was something about it th

ANA'S POV Lina was back before the matter could escalate more than that. My hands were still on Anna's shoulders. I held her closer than ever. I saw myself in her. There was no denying that. The pain in her eyes were more than recognizable. “Did something happen?” Lina asked looking between me, Anna and the other kids. “I would like to take Anna home,” I said, tipping my chin. Lina frowned. “But you had specifically said that you would never be adopting any child throughout your reign. I can clearly remember our conversation on that.”I almost screamed, and told her that Selene had made that decision. Not me. I took on a deep breath. “Well, I have changed my mind. I want to take her home. Can you get the documents ready?” I asked in the most nicest way that I could muster. She nodded immediately. “Please come with me.”I noticed that her mouth was fixed in a thin line. She definitely didn't look happy as she prepared the documents. I looked down at Anna, and she finally smiled as

ANA'S POV My heart was racing as I headed downstairs. What happened? Did something happen to Anna? Or the pack? Was the pack under attack? I was freaking out more than anything. Everything that Len was apologizing about was out of my head in seconds. My mood went from horny to panicking. The switch up was crazy. If the pack was under attack, how the hell was I going to fight? I barely had any idea on how I was even supposed to shift. And I was suddenly expected to fight a pack war? Ordinary instructions from Selene weren't going to do the trick this time. “Calm down. The pack attack alarm didn't go off,” Selene said, but I didn't pay attention to her. I wasn't going to have any peace until I got downstairs and saw what the hell was happening. Len was right behind me. “Selene, you don't have to run,” he was saying, trying to be calm. He couldn't calm me down. Not when my mind was flying. There was constant drama in this pack. I had to certify first of all. If it was nothing, the m

LEN’S POVI spotted Selene as she walked out of the priestess’ lair. I knew just how much she hated going there. She had always said that something about the place spooked her out and usually sent me there to deliver messages and things like that. But now, she has gone herself? This could only mean that she was still angry at me for everything that had happened?Things have been tense between the both of us and it was all because of that man, Zach. That must be the reason she was changing. It was only going to be time when she starts craving for him. His position and dominance was going to start calling out for her. And she was going to succumb. That was how it always happened with other female Alphas. Logan might have so much hope in her. But why the hell was he acting like he wasn’t noticing the change in her? I took a deep breath, trying to follow whatever advice he had given me. It was almost like he was trying to make me him. Giving her soft, right?“Selene!” I called out to h

ANA'S POV“What do you think you are doing?” Elder Xavier asked immediately Zach left the room.“What do you mean?” I asked, narrowing my eyes at him. “This man is giving you an opportunity worth millions. Worth lifting the pack from whatever problem it is in. And you are letting him walk away like that?” He made a move to ask the guards to call him back. “You wouldn't dare,” I said, and he paused. “Until he goes and gets married to the daughter of the Alpha of another pack? Trust me, we won't recover from that.”I stood up. I wasn't willing to sit down here and allow this man to keep ranting on how I was supposed to be kissing Zach's feet and agreeing to marry him. “Elder Xavier,” I called in the calmest way I could. “The reason for the pack’s Elder Council is to agree with the decisions I take, and suggest a few. It's not necessary that I adhere to them. So please, no one should speak about him anymore. The meeting is over.”I walked out, not listening to their mumbling. As long

ANA'S POVJust as Logan had advised, I was putting on a pretty white dress. My hair was set in a rough bun. It didn't matter that the dress was red. The Elders were going to permit some black shoes right?Of course they would. Selene was Alpha. I mean… I was Alpha. I had to confirm with Selene to make sure that the Elders really liked her in white, and she confirmed. See? Logan wasn't out there trying to make sure that I wasn't fooling them. He was genuinely helping like a gentleman. Anna was awake by the time I finished getting dressed. I sent her downstairs for breakfast. For every little thing she did, I kissed her forehead. She seemed to like it. I was showering her with all the attention I could. I was showering her with all the attention I couldn't get. I wanted to take her with me to the meeting, but that wouldn't be too pleasing. I ended up walking into the large hall alone for the first time in my life. For the first time, I was walking into a place in this huge palace, with

LOGAN'S POVI wanted to lean up and kiss her again. But I didn't know if she was going to push me away again. She was going hot and cold, it was almost getting hard for me to keep up. And it was getting me hard as well. I couldn't forget that. It didn't matter if Len said she was changing, and he was suspecting that something was wrong. I loved this part of her. The one that let me carry her up instead of keeping things strictly to the bed. The one who didn't hesitate to tug on my hair and moan out loud instead of making stifled sounds. The one that let me stick around after sex. The one that blushed so hard like she was the most innocent thing in the world.“Are you done?” She finally asked, peeking at her feet like she was a little girl. She should have known that she didn't need bandages. She was going to heal in seconds. Anything to touch her. Anything to have time with her like this. Now, that was something to worry about. There were splinters of wood under her feet. How the he

ANA'S POV I woke up with a start. My hands were wrapped around Anna. It was the most peaceful sleep I had in a while. But for some reason, my heart was racing when I woke up. It was almost like I was having little revelations. I was running in bushes for some reason. Turning back constantly like I was being chased. I pushed the thought out of my head, running my hands through Anna's body, trying to make sure I didn't hurt her in any way. Her sleeping in this room was another reason why Len was going to dislike her even more. He obviously had plans. We were already kissing last night when we heard a tiny knock on the door, and it was Anna, saying that she was scared of staying in the maid quarters alone. I instantly felt guilty for leaving her there alone. Len left in anger without a word. While Logan stayed back, cuddling the both of us until we both fell asleep. But now, even he wasn't in bed. I shook my head at the way they both woke up so early. It was probably Selene's thing as
