Good Evening, Aldus.”
Eden curtsied to the Mage as he explained briefly, “Eliza Claire Gold is here to get your blessing so that she can officially join the pack tonight.”
Aldus’s young voice echoed again, “Come inside. Let me have a glimpse of her destiny.”
The room was dark still now but the moment we stepped in, a bright light filled the room and I found an old man with long white hair and dark eyes, sitting on a couch with a heavy book in his hand.
He had a very gentle smile, peeping through his silky grey beard. Looking up at me, he greeted me warmly, “Good Evening, Miss Eliza. May I?”
He raised his hand in front of me as he asked for my hand. He had a very unique aura, powerful yet mysterious and unpredictable. I felt awkward and slightly scared. But, he added again, “Don’t be scared, Young Lady. It will not be as painful as your first transformation.”
Smiling nervously, I placed my hand on his, “I am not scared at all.”
Chuckling, the old man covered my hand with his as he closed his eyes and started to murmur some incoherent words which I couldn’t understand. I felt like the bright light of the room began to tremble instantly.
A sharp pain ran through my veins, reaching to my heart. It was painful but endurable.
With a puzzled expression when I looked at Eden who was still standing next to me, he calmly mumbled, “It’s okay. Stay calm.”
“What is he-”
I couldn’t finish my sentence. Aldus let out a long, audible breath and then he added in a harsh and raw voice, “Destruction! Massacre! Bloodbath!”
Aldus’s eyes opened sharply as he glared at me. His dark eyes turned blood red and his calm expression changed miraculously. He continued, looking at me, “I can see only chaos in your destiny, Miss.”
“Chaos? What do you mean?”
He answered in that same harsh tone, “You will bring destruction for the pack. Everyone will suffer, numerous will be burnt to death and your life will be full of misery.”
An icy fear twisted around my heart as I mumbled, “I will cause all these?”
Aldus closed his eyes for a moment and then blurted out, “Yes!”
I gasped, panting in terror. Eden noticed my dark face. He hastily pulled me away from Aldus, taking a step forward as he asked promptly, “How can we stop this, Aldus?”
“You can’t! None can change the fate,” Aldus’s cold voice echoed.
Eden pulled me closer to him as he asked worriedly, “Are you sure that your prediction is correct?”
“Yes, I am sure. She will start a new era for the Underworld. The enemies will collide, the families will be broken, bonds will be tested- everything will change, Young Lord. We can’t stop it but we must endure it.”
I asked in a small frightened voice, “Should I leave the pack then? Maybe my absence can protect the pack.”
Aldus paused for a moment. Then his face relaxed with a calm and tiny smile as he explained, “It’s your destiny, Young Lady. In your presence or absence, the pack and you will share that fate surely. We can’t change our destiny but I will advise you to be cautious with your decisions. You must not give up. When the time will be right, you will be the cause of the biggest harmony of the Underworld.”
Eden asked worriedly, “Aldus, will there be any life risk for her?”
“Yes, for all of us. For the whole pack.”
Aldus sighed as he continued, “But, we can’t change. it, Young Lord. We should just keep fighting until the storm passes. Each of us must fight to survive or our ending is near.”
“Ending!”
I searched anxiously for the meaning behind the words, “What should I do, Aldus! How can I stop this? I don’t want-”
Aldus approached me suddenly and patted my head affectionately, “Eliza, none of us can stop it. Always remember, you mustn’t give up and stay true to yourself. Your purity will bring revolution for us.”
Panic was rioting within me. I didn’t understand half of his prediction. But, I was sure about one thing that my presence wasn’t good for our pack. Aldus looked at Eden as he advised, “Keep this prediction a secret for now and protect our young lady always.”
Eden looked very worried yet suppressing his feelings, he murmured, “I will keep it a secret. Aldus, we should go back to the ball now or Father will start searching for us.”
Patting my head one more time, Aldus declared, “I accept Eliza Claire Gold as a loyal member of the Golden Heart Pack. May your glorious presence change our fate, Young lady. Follow your heart till the end.”
Bowing to him, I replied obediently, “I offer my body and soul for the welfare of the pack, Aldus.”
Taking our leave from Aldus when we took the path of the hall once again, I couldn’t control the spasmodic trembling within me. My heart was throbbing rapidly, thinking about my uncertain future.
Even Eden looked stressed as I could hear his frequent sighs. However when he noticed my tormented expression, he gently wrapped his protective arm around my shoulder and asked in his soft tone, “What’s wrong with your expression, Missy?”
“Hmm.. I am just thinking if-”
Eden cut me in the middle, “Who has asked you to think so much, Missy? Don’t trouble your little brain or it will stop working.”
I groaned in an upset voice, “Brother! How can you joke even now?”
Eden pulled me closer to him as he answered affectionately, “Why? What is bothering you so much? Those silly predictions?” His lips curled up with his usual calm smile as he teased me, “Eli, you are so dumb! Half of the time, those predictions don’t come true and you are worrying about it. Seriously?”
I was still scared.
My thoughts were dull and disquieting. I mumbled uneasily, looking at our vast porch, “What if they come true? What if I really cause trouble for the whole pack?”
Eden chuckled softly.
While tousling my hair, he assured me warmly, “Then, you will get the chance to witness your brother’s awesomeness. Eli, I will always be here to protect you with everything. None can touch a single hair of yours.”
“Really?”
I asked, tilting my face and looking up at him.
Raising one of his brows, Eden asked promptly, “Do you have any doubt?”
While giggling, I nodded my head positively to enjoy his squinting eyes.
If you are enjoying the story, Don’t forget to drop a gem for this young dreamer. Your words are precious to my lonely soul. Appreciation or criticism- everything will be welcomed warmly. So, feel free to share your thoughts.
(In the room of Keir Allen Walker, 5 years ago when he was 23 years old)(The Clan house of Night Walker clan, Verena City)“Damn! What a long day it was!”Keir just threw his exhausted body on his king-size bed after a long day of hard work. Through his open window, he could see the reddish sky and the horizon where a red fireball was wishing its goodbye for that day.The flocks of birds were returning back to their nests and the dense starfall forest was looking so mysterious and solitary at the reddening hue of the twilight. From afar, Keir could see the peak of the hill that was separating the Lycan and Werewolf kingdom.Suddenly, his heart twitched with a longing, recalling about that golden she-wolf which he saw last night. After that incident, he couldn’t sleep even a wink; the whole night, he was thinking about her. While tossing and turning on his bed, he spent the night frustrated and tormented. His Lycan was growling impatiently, demanding to meet her. That intoxicating scen
(POV of Eliza Claire Gold when she was still 19 years old)The sparkling stars filled the dark sky of the night. The full moon looked like a graceful queen, ruling over those diamond-like stars as its silvery light wrapped everything like a thin blanket. While walking through our porch, I headed to our flower fields which was my favourite spot to calm myself down. After meeting Aldus, I was feeling so restless that I needed some time to calm down before I could go back to the party.Eden allowed me to take a walk on our porch for only 10 minutes and he returned to the hall. Flowers carpeted the field below me, blooming as far as the eyes could see. My eyes searched for a spot where the flowers were thin and I sat down there, looking at the sky. It was like sinking into a fantasy world. I always felt that the flowers were so large and much more beautiful when sitting among them.Numerous fireflies began to approach me while flying around me as if I were their sole purpose of living. Su
My face instantly clouded with uneasiness. I felt a momentary panic as I almost jumped away from him. Though he let me go instantly, he still looked playful and nonchalant as if he wasn’t scared of anyone. The confidence and arrogance in his rigid profile were noticeable even in the dim light of the moon. Surely, he was neither a stalker nor an ordinary person. I mumbled in a low whisper, “Leave fast! My brother is coming.”“So, your name is Eli? Are you going to join this pack?”That stranger asked in his nonchalant tone, tucking both of his hands behind his head and lying down in a more comfortable position on the flower bed.Sighing loudly, I jumped on my feet as I growled under my breath while dusting my gorgeous gown, “It seems that you have a very short life. What a weird person you are!”Without waiting for his answer, I shouted while running towards Eden hastily, “Here, I am.”I heard his soft voice from behind, “Firefly, we will meet soon. This time I will-”‘He will?’I coul
“Come inside, Eliza.”Father’s harsh voice declared from the opposite side of the door . It looked like a very confidential issue as two pairs of guards were stopping everyone from entering the study room. Murphy tagged alone with me but he was stopped outside. I noticed our Beta who was waiting outside the room. When I entered, I noticed that Alpha Edward and Eden were sitting at the tea table with grave faces while listening to something very attentively. Two strangers; one in inky black tuxedo and another in casual attire were sitting, facing their back at me. However, they neither looked like invaders nor were they treated as criminals. The moment Father noticed me, he stated with his big affectionate smile, “Eli, meet our special guests. They are going to live in our guesthouse for a few days.”‘Guest!’I looked at Eden with a puzzled expression. But before I could react, both of them stood up and greeted me warmly. They had different facial features but both of them had somehow
(POV of Eliza Claire Gold, 5 years later when she is 24 years old)(Present time, lying in Issac’s car)“Wake up, Lily! We have reached your home.”Issac’s gentle voice woke me up. Tears were glistening at the corner of my eyes as my eyes were still clouded with memories. My nights were sleepless due to those tormenting memories.I tried my best to forget my past and start fresh but they were chasing me like my shadow. They kept on coming back, again and again. Taking deep breaths, I calmed my hammering heartbeats as I almost dragged my aching body out of the car.“Wait! Hold my hand,” Issac hastily approached me. He looked worried. He wrapped his coat around my shoulders as he supported me to walk inside. My house was a small, three-roomed cottage in the outskirts of the city, a little far away from the pack house.Awkwardly, clearing my throat, I mumbled, “I am ok, Issac. You don’t have to-”Issac cut me in the middle of the sentence as he ordered, “Stay quiet. You need to rest well.
‘It’s already 2pm!’I checked the time on my wrist watch, sitting impatiently outside the interview room. Since 11am, I had been waiting there and asked a few staff members about the interview but they all just asked me to wait.Sighing impatiently, I stood up from my seat, “Damn! My head is aching. I even skipped breakfast to attend this interview and this damn Hogg. I wish I could punch his chubby face and-”I began to walk towards the canteen to get a cup of tea when a young lady in neat, formal dress announced my name from behind, “Miss Eliza Claire? Madam is calling you inside.”‘Madam! Is it that treacherous woman again?’My nerves tensed immediately, 'Alpha wont forgive me if I disappoint him again. I must get this job.'With a smile, I hastily followed that young lady to the conference hall. Knocking at the door, I asked, “May I come in?”“Yes, come in,” Juliet’s familiar voice echoed from inside.I curved my lips with the brightest smile I could pull in that situation and ent
“What?”My mind refused to believe Mr. Hogg’s words as I asked once again in bewilderment.Water was dripping from his expensive coat and his leather shoes were in terrible condition. Mr Hogg was panting heavily; clearly he ran very fast to catch me. He waited a few seconds to inhale and then, he repeated annoyedly, “Hurry! The CEO is waiting for you. He wants to talk with you urgently.”“But why?”Mr. Hogg sighed, “How will I know? You just follow me quietly. Don’t ask your stupid questions.”I found him vaguely disturbing and extremely suspicious. But, I couldn’t suppress my curiosity. We both were dripping wet in that heavy rain as we walked back to the office, in front of those guards who threw me out a moment ago.Mr Hogg led me to the lift and then directly to the 30th floor. We both were quiet in the lift as he was wiping his wet face with his half-drenched handkerchief with an annoyed expression. I couldn’t believe that man literally chased me in that heavy rain, without any um
“Then what were you doing on my bed?” Keir asked tauntingly while lighting a cigarette. I could see the heavy rain through the vast glass wall of the room. The dark clouds became darker with the frequent lightning. I sighed instinctively as I looked at him, frowning my brows, “Why? Hasn’t Mr. Hogg told you anything, Sir?” A bitter sensation annoyed me. Instead of getting scared of Keir, I glared at him, “I had no desire to seduce anyone. Miss Juliet and Mr. Hogg drugged me and sent me to your room. I wasn’t in my senses. I can’t even remember-” “Why should I trust you?” Keir asked while exhaling a puff of smoke. I answered boldly, “That’s up to you. Check the cameras and ask your staff, maybe? But, I am not lying.” Keir’s emerald eyes focused on me for a while, and then he answered, “I will send my men to inquire about you. If I find anything suspicious, I will make sure that you suffer miserably. So, don’t try to trick me.” Sighing, I murmured under my breath, “Am I not
[POV of Eliza Claire Gold](The Main Building of the Night Walker Clan)“Happy Birthday, Mr.”I whispered shyly, passing him the wrapped gift box, “I am so sorry for my ignorance. I should have known-”“Shh!”Pressing his finger gently to my lips, Keir whispered with that signature, charming smile of his, “Sorry is the last thing I want to hear from you tonight. Can I ask you something?”Curious, I nodded. “Yes?”“Will you stay with me tonight?”Before I could respond, his strong arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer. His emerald eyes locked with mine, and he whispered, his voice soft and warm, “Can I have you as my special gift, M’lady?”Even though I’d shared moments like this with Keir before, his words always made my heart race uncontrollably. His intense gaze was almost too much to bear. My cheeks burned with a blush I couldn’t hide, and I bit my lower lip shyly before nodding.“You can,” I replied softly, barely meeting his eyes. “It’s your birthday, after all. I should
(POV of Eliza Claire Gold)(One month later)“It’s so sunny today!”I dropped onto the cozy couch on the balcony of the little cottage nestled in the forest. Sweat trickled down my forehead, and my breath was uneven after a 10km run. Hearing footsteps behind me, I turned sharply, startled.“Sasha! When did you get here?” I asked, my face lighting up with a bright smile.Sasha sank onto the couch beside me, holding a cup of coffee. “I’ve been waiting for you for fifteen minutes. Where on earth were you so early in the morning?”“Oh, I was just bored staying inside,” I replied casually. Smiling brightly, I added, “Why don’t you stay with me today? I’ve been so lonely lately that I ended up teaching myself how to cook.”Laughing, Sasha raised an eyebrow. “Were those dishes even edible?”“Of course!” I said, puffing up my chest proudly. “Aunt Merry even complimented my cooking. I could cook lunch for you today if you want!”Throwing her hands up in surrender, Sasha exclaimed, “No way! We’r
“You can moan louder!”Passion coursed through me, igniting every nerve as I trembled under the intensity of his playful tongue. My voice wavered, barely a whisper. "Keir... it feels so-"Before I could finish, his fingers gently pressed against my lips, silencing me as they slid inside. The warmth of my breath mingled with the slickness of his touch, heightening the tension between us.My body arched instinctively, every muscle tightening as waves of pleasure crashed over me. A soft cry escaped my lips, and when I met his gaze, the satisfied curve of his smile sent another jolt through me.Keir leaned down, his lips capturing mine with a fiery hunger. "Don't give in so soon, Eliza," he murmured against my mouth, his voice low and commanding. "We've only just begun.”My breath came in quick, shallow bursts as the heat between us grew unbearable. His body pressed closer, the firm evidence of his desire teasing me, brushing against the dampness he'd already claimed. The anticipation was
(POV of Young Eliza Claire Gold)I somehow managed to stammer, "Y-You already have a mate! H-How can I-"Keir's arms tightened around me, his lips brushing against my ear as he whispered, "Yes, I do. I found out my mate is my childhood friend-but none of that matters because my Lycan craves you, Eliza. You, more than anyone, more than her, more than fate itself.""Oh."I tilted my face toward him, raising a brow. "So, you want me because your Lycan desires me, is that it?"Keir chuckled low, a sound that sent a shiver down my spine. Before I could react, he spun me to face him. His hands gripped my waist firmly, pulling me closer until there was no space between us. His voice was low, deliberate. "No, Princess. I want you because I love you. I care for you. You're mine-not because of my Lycan, but because I choose you. I've always chosen you before everyone."My heart pounded so loudly I was sure he could hear it. His intense gaze locked onto mine, his breathing ragged. I could feel his
POV of Young Eliza Claire"Keir? Where are we going?"I asked, my voice filled with curiosity as I looked around the unfamiliar path. Instead of heading back to the Night Walker Clan house, the car sped deeper into the forest of the Night Walker Territory.Without glancing at me, Keir smirked mysteriously and replied, "You'll find out soon, Firefly. Are you sleepy?"It was close to midnight, but sleep was the last thing on my mind. Keir's presence had stolen any trace of tiredness. My heart fluttered restlessly as my eyes kept drifting to his sharp, handsome features. His charming smile lingered on his lips, and in the soft glow of the moonlight, he looked like a perfect sculpture carved out of stone.Sensing my gaze on him, he suggested, “Take a nap if you want. I’ll wake you up when we get there.”“Umm, no, it’s fine,” I murmured, smiling shyly at him. “I can stay up all night if you—”“If I ask? Would you really do whatever I ask?” Keir teased, his tone playful.Shaking my head, I
POV of Young Eliza Claire Gold“It’s getting late. I think I should leave now,” Eden said, glancing at his watch. I sat besidehim, with Sasha on his other side. Keir and Kyrell were seated next to me.Dave, the host of the party, had stepped out for a moment to greet some VIP guests. The party downstairs on the ground floor was lively, but Keir had arranged a quiet meeting with Eden on the second floor of Dave’s resort to keep things private from the Lycans’ Kingdom. It wasn’t safe for me to leave the Lycans’ Kingdom to meet Eden, so they invited him here. Dave, Keir’s childhood best friend, was helping us in every possible way. At first, I had found Dave a bit strange, but he turned out to be the most welcoming host I’d ever met.I tugged on Eden’s sleeve and looked up at him with pleading eyes. “When will you come to see me again, Brother?”Eden gently patted my head, his voice kind. “Very soon, Eli. I promise.”The thoughts of parting away from him was tormenting me from within. I
"I was extremely busy, as you know," Keir said in a friendly tone, shrugging his shoulders. The young, cheerful guy with gray hair and a delicate, slender build quickly dismissed his other guests. As Keir approached, the other guy leaped forward, wrapping him in a tight hug. "Buddy! I’m so happy to see you! I feel like I’m going to cry. I thought you’d forgotten me already."Struggling to free himself from the guy’s grip, Keir groaned in annoyance. "I wish I could forget you. Why on earth did I even think of coming to your party?""Because you desperately needed my help and were practically begging for it," the guy replied without letting go of him.Leaning against the doorframe, Kyrell watched the scene with a wide grin, clearly enjoying Keir's irritated expression like it was the most entertaining thing he’d seen all day. I turned to Sasha, confused. She leaned closer to whisper, “They’re childhood friends, and he’s—”"My God! Who is this gorgeous lady?"Interrupting her, the cheerf
“K-Keir!”My voice rose in surprise as I stared wordlessly at him, my heart was pounding rapidly. The glimmer in his emerald eyes sparkled like precious gems, stirring a whirlwind of emotions within me. I had missed him terribly, craving his presence during that long, lonely week. And now, as I finally stood before him, I could only gasp in astonishment. His gaze met my questioning eyes, and he gently took my hand in his. In his deep, teasing voice, he asked, “So? Did you miss me, Firefly?”A shy smile tugged at my lips, and warmth crept into my cheeks. Tucking a strand of my carefully styled hair behind my ear, I rolled my eyes and replied, “Humph! Why would I miss you?”Keir raised an eyebrow and pulled me a little closer, his tall figure leaning casually against the car. “You don’t look like someone who didn’t miss me,” he said, his tone playful. “Aren’t you happy to see me?”I looked up at him and replied quickly, “When did I say I wasn’t?”“Ah, so you’re so happy to see me that y
“Hello, I can’t return tonight. Don’t wait for me.”Keir’s call that night caught me off guard. He wasn’t coming back, and I didn’t see him for the next six days. The silence in his cottage felt oppressive at times, even though my life there was comfortable. I had everything I could need—both luxuries and necessities. Two maids were always around, taking care of me, and I was free to move about. I could go to the training ground to practice or stroll in the gardens whenever I wanted. Sasha visited me almost every day, and we spent hours chatting. Sometimes, she even took me to cozy little cafés within the inner territory. In just one week, we became close friends.Eden and I talked daily using Sasha’s phone. From her, I learned that both Kyrell and Keir had gone on a confidential mission, and it might take some time before they returned. Despite the comforts around me, I felt like I was living a secluded life.---(A week later, at Keir’s private training ground)“Afternoon, Eliza.”S
