Caleb
I was heading out to meet Nate and one of our other friends Ryan for our guys night. I was in a good mood. I have been for most of the week. I had text Scarlett yesterday, but I have yet to hear back from her. I was not overthinking it, though, because I know her job will keep her busy. She would reply when she has the time, I hope.
But right now, I was looking forward to going out for a few drinks, a couple of games of pool and good company. Of course, I got to the bar first, so I ordered myself a pint and got the pool table set up. And moments after I got things ready, Nate appeared and went straight to the bar to get a drink.
“You want a drink?” He shouted over to me.
“I’ve already got a pint, Nate, thanks though”, I shouted back over.
I sat down to have a drink whilst waiting for him to come. It is good
ScarlettI was having the best time out with the girls. We had gone for an early dinner and cocktails. I haven’t had a good night out in a long time. I have been working so much recently, so I’m glad Nicole created a group chat and arranged for us to go out.We were all so busy now with life; it was hard to get us all together.“Why is your face tripping you?” Nicole asked.“I’m fine,” I smiled, “Just waiting for the karaoke to start,” I added.“Ok, if you say so, Scarlett,” Nicole said, staring straight at me, then turned to get her drink off the bar.I am fine, and I am happy, but my phone battery died before I got to tell Caleb where I was. I would love to meet him tonight. I gave the barman my phone to charge when I came in. So I will get it back shortly and reply to Caleb.&nbs
Caleb I was enjoying my night with everyone; I really was. But what I wanted more was to get some alone time with Scarlett. Just her and I, no interruptions. I reached into Scarlett, my lips at her ear, and she shivered as soon as she felt my hot breath against her skin.“Do you want to get out of here, you and me? We can go somewhere to talk, go a walk, anywhere you like,” I whispered. She turned to face me, that beautiful smile playing on her lips.“I would love that,” She said, “In one condition, though,” She added.“And that being what?” I asked.“That you promise I get a kiss at the end of the night,” She said, biting her lip as she did.I swallowed hard and nodded my head. I can give her that. I have wanted to kiss those lips s
ScarlettI can’t believe this is happening to me. Why was he there? How did he know where I was? I have so many questions running through my mind right now, but I need to concentrate and just get home. My heart was pounding so hard, and I could feel my chest tightening up because I was breathing so hard, nearly home, though. What is Caleb going to think? What am I going to tell him? I can’t believe I just ran away from him, but I just don’t know how to explain what is happening in my life when I don’t even know what is happening.I can see my garden, not far to go, and I’ll be home safe. Then I hear my phone ping. It’s a text message. Will it be Caleb or PJ; I will check it when I get in. I rush to my front and fumble with my keys; finally, I slam the door behind me and lock it. Breathe, Scarlett, breathe was all I could think. I rest against the d
Caleb It has been a couple of days since the night I kissed Scarlett since the night she ran away from me. I had not heard from her since the text she sent me. I had tried contacting her, but nothing. And I was miserable. I was dreading work today.“Still nothing, buddy?” Nate asked.“No,” I sighed, “I don’t get it. We were getting on great. What can change in a matter of seconds?” I added, running my fingers through my hair.“I don’t know. I am sure there is a valid reason for it. Maybe she is busy with work or something,” He said, trying to make me feel better.“Maybe,” I said, but I had a feeling that was nothing to do with it.“You never know Caleb; she might come and see you at work today,” Nate said with a laugh at the end.
ScarlettI'm so glad I came in to see Caleb today, and he was a lot nicer than I expected. If I were him, I wouldn't have given me the time of day after running off. I really should get ready to go home and get ready for the night ahead.I finished my coffee and got my coat on."Caleb, that's me going to go now," I tell him as I sit down my plate and coffee cup on the counter, "Will I take your jacket with me?" I smiled at him."Yes, please, that would be great. I will see you soon," He said, flashing that gorgeous smile at me."I can't wait," I smiled, blowing him a kiss before leaving.I left the coffee shop and then remembered I needed to go to the shop and get some supplies for dinner tonight, so I went into my local shop on the way home and got what I needed. I did even ask him what he liked. I will just get stuff to make a curry.Everyone likes curr
CalebI can’t believe how lucky I am getting to spend time with Scarlett, especially after thinking she didn’t want to be around me after the night she ran off. The way she made me feel was strange, especially this quickly. I am happy we arranged this dinner or who knows when I would see her next in my work for coffee.“How much rice and curry would you like?” Scarlett asked.“Half and half, please, I will pour us another drink.” I smiled at Scarlett, “That’s us onto the second bottle of wine, and we haven’t even started eating yet,” I added.I sat down on the couch next to where Scarlett had placed my dinner.“Cheers,” Scarlet said, “Here’s to a good night,” She added, smirking.“Cheers, Scarlett,” I replied as we clinked gla
Scarlett Caleb and I were lying on my sofa, watching a movie. My legs were resting over his lap, his fingertips circling on my leg. My attention was not on the film; it was on him. I was fighting against the urge to grab him, pull him over me and just let him take me, but I couldn’t do that, not this soon. I am not that sort of girl, plus I am worried because he was still my “target” at the end of the day, and I don’t know how I am going to deal with that.“Now, who is staring?” He said, turning to face me.“Hmm, I can’t help myself,” I said, “I am trying my best to behave,” I added. He moved, coming to lean over me.“Do we need to behave entirely?” He said with a smirk.“I do try my best to behave, especially on a first date.” I giggl
PJ I had my eye on Scarlett’s place from the apartment I had rented across from her. She never knew I had rented it. I had been watching her most of the night, waiting for Caleb to leave, but he never left. And the thought of him being in there with her made a fit of anger run through me. She is not meant to be fucking him! That is not part of the plan. She is supposed to make him fall for her, not be screwing him. And I knew personally all it would take is one time with Scarlett, and he will want more. She affects men that way.The rented apartment doesn’t have much in it, but I got some curtains up so I can spy without getting caught. I can’t believe she is letting him sleepover; the anger doesn’t seem to be subsiding. I need to get over to that house, pronto. He needs to leave! It is nearly nine-thirty, and still no movement from the front door. Surely, he needs to leave soon
Scarlett I don’t understand what is happening. Why is my head all fuzzy, and why do I feel so out of it? I don’t even remember what I was doing, but it feels like I’m sitting down, maybe in a chair, but my hands feel really tight. I can hear voices in the distance, so maybe someone can help me if I call out. I tried to shout, but all that came out was a noise of some sort. I was definitely gagged. I couldn’t stop thinking, what was going on? Footsteps were getting closer to me, and my fuzzy head and brain fog was beginning to clear. The last thing I can recall was standing at the boot of my car, looking for a map. Caleb, where is Caleb? What on earth is going on here? “Hello, sweetness, did you miss me?” I hear a familiar voice laugh. PJ! He did this to me! I started st
Caleb We pulled up outside of Scarlett’s place, both on edge and looking around.“Right, let’s get in here quickly and get what I need,” Scarlett said.We had one last look around, and everything seemed clear. We rushed in, but when we got there, her front door was kicked in.“Stay behind me,” she said. She took the gun from her back, holding it in position, and we cautiously made our way in. The place was trashed! The home was ransacked. We walked around checking the place one room at a time to ensure that nobody was there. The place was a mess.“We are all good. No one is here.” Scarlett said.“OK, let’s get your stuff and get out of here,” I replied.“I’m not sure that anything has been taken
Scarlett I hadn’t slept a wink, and the sun was starting to rise. I hadn’t slept because I was on edge all night. I was scared in case someone found us, but on top of that, I was nervous because I didn’t know what Caleb was going to do. Is he going to leave me?I have sat on the sofa all night, only moving when needed.“Scarlett, will you please come to bed and try to get some sleep?” I hear from behind me.“I am fine,” I said, not looking at him.“Scarlett, get your ass into bed and get some sleep, or God help me, I will come over there, toss you over my shoulder and carry you there,” he said firmly.I just sat there staring at the wall. I wasn’t ignoring him on purpose; I was just stuck in a daze. Then I heard a throat clearing next to me, my headshot round in one d
Caleb“Scarlett, I know we have literally just got into the room, but can we talk now?” I asked.“Yes, we can,” she smiled. “I’m going to make a cuppa tea. Then we can talk. Do you want one?” Scarlett asked.“Yes, please, that would be nice,” I answered.I’m not sure if she is trying to stall this chat we are meant to be having, but she is filtering about a lot.“Do you want sugar, Caleb? She asked.“Yes, please, I’ll have two.” I smiled at her.I can feel myself getting more and more anxious as I wait for her to come over. I don’t want her to feel betrayed by me because I haven’t told her the truth about my past before now.She came over and sat down the tea before si
Scarlett I knew it was probably PJ that sent someone here, but I was not letting him or any of his people get to Caleb. Once I knew Caleb was down on the ground and safe, I crawled over to the window and looked out. I could see only one person, and they were reloading their gun. I knew this was the best for me to take my shot.I lined my gun up where I needed it, resting my hand on the trigger. I had to breathe for a moment because it had been a while since I had used a gun and shot someone.I’ve never been a fan of having to shoot anyone, but I can’t let this go. I can’t allow this person to leave or get away with shooting towards Caleb. I don’t even know if he has been hurt. I will check him over as soon as I’m finished here.Still aiming at the exact same spot, I saw the figure move, so I gently began squeezing my trigger finger until it was f
CalebPulling Scarlett in closer to me was the best feeling. Our lips stayed locked as our hands started moving all over each other’s bodies. Scarlett’s hands crept up my back to my hair, her hands roughly pulling through my hair, making me want to go in rougher.“Caleb, I have missed this a lot.” Scarlett panted out as she pulled back from me.“Me too,” I replied as I began unbuttoning my polo shirt.Watching Scarlett begin to undress as I was also undressing was making me harder by the second.I was expecting her to run when she knew the truth. How wrong was I? Item by item, our clothing came off and got dropped on the floor until we were in nothing but our underwear. I grabbed her panties, using them to bring her closer to me. I growl, feeling her skin on mine again.I lift her swift
ScarlettI was nervous as I waited for Caleb to speak because that meant I needed to tell him the truth about me too. He took a deep breath."My name isn't Caleb. My real name is Logan," He said, "I changed my name when I moved here because I needed to disappear," He added.I knew his real name, but I would let him tell me everything."I ran away from London because my life was in danger, and I fucked up big time," He said, "I got in with the wrong people at a very young age because I didn't have anyone else," He added.I just looked at him with no expression. I observed his body language to try and read if what he was saying was true, and so far, I believe everything."I have a lot of people after me, Scarlett, and I thought coming up here to Sco
CalebI just sat on a chair at the table with my head in my hands and a warm cup of instant coffee next to me. I really wish it didn't need to come to this, I didn't want to leave Scarlett, but I was out of options. I feel like all I have done since I left is think about what I have had to leave behind, mainly Scarlett.I'm not sure how long I'm going to be able to hide out here for, but I do have enough supplies to do me at least two weeks and a handful of books to read.I wish there were a way to contact people back home, but I worry that the people after me could be watching them. This isn't the first time I have been on the run, and usually, I just get on with it, but it was different now. I had friends. I had Scarlett. I had a life, unlike those other times. I now remember why I don't let people close because your past always catches up eventually and puts those who we care about
Scarlett I pace as I wait for PJ to get here. I hear my door open, and he walks in. I waited until he was in sight.“Where the fuck is he? What did you do to him? What did you say?” I hiss.“I don’t know what you mean,” He said smugly.“Caleb! Where the fuck is he? Do not mess me around, PJ, because I am not in the damn mood,” I bark.“For someone who apparently doesn’t care, you sure are angry,” He said.I was not in the mood for his bullshit!“Stop messing with me PJ, tell me where he is!!” I shouted.“Calm down, crabby pants,” he laughed, “I don’t even know why you think I have anything to do with this.” He flung himself down on my couch and grinned at me.“PJ, how am I
