Mark walks into the police station right after Leia has left when Kasen is brought into the waiting room for the second time in a day.
His cousin, Kasen, looks up at him and asks him to leave.
"Well if it isn't my one and only cousin Mark," Kasen says.
Mark didn't budge, his eyes rolled in irritation.
"I'm here to discuss a few things with you, and I'm afraid I'm not leaving until I find those documents," he says firmly. "I'll burn this place to the ground if I have to."
Kasen shakes his head. "You're not thinking straight. Just go home and cool off, or you can join me here if you want to, for the second time in your life I mean."
Mark stands up and towers over Kasen, sternly looking at him.
"I'll go home… when I have those documents in my hand. And you better take care of yourself, Kasen, I wouldn't want anything to happen to you."
Knowing fully well that Leia has hidden the document, he couldn't help but frown at how good Leia is at playing hide and seek, but what excites him, was the fact that Kasen was being reluctant to tell his wife the reason for his arrest.
"You're lucky my wife isn't here right now," Kasen says, glaring at Mark. "Otherwise, she would have thrown you out on your ass."
Mark laughs. "I don't think so. She's my sister-in-law, after all. She'll listen to what I have to say."
"Before that, she's my wife, Mark! Don't you forget that?"
"But now she hates you does she not?" Mark beams at him.
Kasen's silence was heard, as though Mark was never meant to find out the secret he keeps from his wife.
"I did as you wanted," Kasen starts.
At his words, Mark could feel Kasen panic as he relaxed into his seat, arms crossed and pleased to see Kasen being so nervous.
"And yet, I still find it hard to leave you alone, maybe it's because I find it fun getting into your skin," Mark responds with a chuckle.
"You promised to leave my family out of this mess," Kasen roars, his hand slamming hard on the table.
Mark stares at him, completely calm and composed, without a little fear in him.
"I haven't broken my word yet. Your family is completely unaware of all the sacrifices you're making. Especially my princess," Mark gestures to Leia as he grins maliciously.
Kasen could feel his blood rise as she leaned forward, veins thumping with brows tight, as he whispered in a low voice, "That's my wife you're talking about, so watch your tongue."
"Hahaha!"
Laughter fills the place as Mark holds his belly, stomping his feet helplessly as he laughs.
"Just wait until I find those papers, then I'll be taking my princess with me, and all that is rightfully mine," he tells Kasen, wiping off the tears dangling in his eyes.
"Keep dreaming."
"Watch me," Mark responded.
"I see you're still pining after your ex. Too bad the child will be taking over the company, and your assistance will no longer be needed," Mark says, grinning from ear to ear.
Irked by Mark's comment, Kasen rises from his seat, but with his hands chained to the table, he's forced to sit down once again.
"You're trash, Mark. Complete and utter trash."
Mark just chuckles as he gets up and walks away.
Just when he's about to leave Mark stops, turns around and smirks. His fingers, rub his chin as he nods in agreement.
"Yes, in fact, I like being trash, and as trash, I would love to update you that your ex who claims to have your son is on her way to grant him a title at your place.
Your wife is going to pass through a lot from now on," he laughs, eyes and mouth wide open like a madman.
"You scumbag, what is with you?" Kasen questions.
"You happened, everyone happened, you all betrayed me, so now I'm going to get back all that I lost," Mark tells him.
"Have a nice life in prison, cousin," he waves goodbye at Kasen as he makes his way to the exit.
His laugh echoes as he dances his way out.
Kasen could only wish Leia was having a better life than he was as he remained in wait for the warden.
Unfortunately for Kasen's wish, Leia is getting her cup of tea as she drives back to the company.
It's merely been twenty minutes since she left Kasen and hit the road.
Buzz!
Her phone vibrates upon the sofa nonstop for the fifth time.
It's her mother-in-law.
"Does she want to ruin me too?" She worries, but she knows she can't ignore the calls forever, so she finally and reluctantly answers the call.
"Hello…"
"You should come home, now," Claire yells.
Leia knows she is not in any position to disobey or complain, but she feels nervous as she drives down to the main house.
Finally, she arrives at the Sky mansion, the same place she didn't want to be again after she left.
As she approaches, she puzzles over what may be so serious that would have the very people who dislike her call for her.
"I see you're here," Claire's voice echoes from upstairs. "Janette dear, please come out."
With Claire's words, Janette appears from behind Claire carrying a child in her arms, roughly about four to five years old.
Leia's arms open wide as she watches her sworn enemy emerge with the child of her husband.
Claire upon seeing Leia's facial expressions couldn't feel any more delighted as she smirks in satisfaction.
"From today onwards, my grandson, the new heir and his mother will live with us," she announces, shattering Leia's heart into a million pieces within seconds.
"What?" Leia questions with a stutter.
"You heard me correctly, the new heir of our family business has arrived and will be staying with us, so you're no longer needed. In short, it'll be best, if you can disappear from our lives," Claire warns with menace.
Leia has never felt so angry and betrayed. Annoyed, she storms off her meeting with her mother-in-law, feeling humiliated and disrespected. She knows that she deserves more, and yet, they have ignored her and dismissed her concerns. She couldn't take it anymore. Her best isn't best enough to these people and she's beginning to wonder if they're qualified enough to be called her in-laws."Everyone keeps driving me to a wall," she mutters to herself feeling angered and sad as well. Getting inside the car, an angered Leia revs up the engine, ready to leave, but just outside the gate she finds someone unexpected standing at the gate.Slam!Leia's door closes as Rachel gets inside. "What took you so long?" Rachel asks, putting her seatbelts on. "I'm tired," Leia murmurs, slamming her head on to the steering wheel, causing the car to honk. "Let's go to my place, this family is nothing but chaos to you," she tells Leia. Throughout the drive to Rachel's place Leia is unsure of who to g
Both women stare at the TV in utter shock. Their jaw drops as She reads the headlines over and over, still trying to process what she's seeing. Why? Why was this happening to her? "This cannot be happening." She didn't even notice the angry tears rolling down her cheeks as she stood up. "Why are they so keen on ruining my reputation? Why are they so keen on ruining my life?!" She shouts in frustration.Rachel who heard her turned from the kitchen counter, the concern on her face turning into shock as soon as she saw the TV. The news shook her to her Bones."What the hell is this?" Rachel asks in a strained whisper as she steps out of the kitchen to get a better view of the TV. "Well-known daughter-in-law of the Sky family, Leia Sky's dirty secret is finally revealed as a local source captured a picture of her making out with her brother-in-law, Mark Sky who seems to be her lover since back in her college days. Sources say that the history of the relationship between the two…" The
Everyone looks at the door and sees Mark standing there with his hands shoved casually into the pockets of his slacks.Andrew stands up and the angry look on Claire's face vanishes. They didn't realize he was here already. Claire feels fear settling in her bones, worrying over the possibility of Mark overhearing their conversation with Leia, but after a few minutes of his silence, she realizes he didn't hear anything. He probably had just seen Leia's car drive out when he was driving in. Mark walks purposefully towards them, his cold and arrogant expression enough to frighten them. The aura surrounding him commands respect, dominance practically oozing from his pores. He meets the eyes of Andrew and Claire before lowering himself to take his seat before signalling to a nearby maid and the woman rushes out of the room to get him something to drink. "You can sit, you know, I won't bite," Mark says with a chuckle and the couple having no other choice quickly take seats opposite to
Leia got off the taxi, automatically paying the driver with some cash, and she faces the apartment. She knows her eyes are puffy and red from crying. Although she wiped and washed her face with water recently, the markings of crying were still visible on her face. With a sigh, Leia walks into the apartment building. She stops at the entrance to her place when she catches sight of Rachel and the landlord arguing over something."You have got to be kidding me Mr Jones!," Rachel yelled angrily. "I paid for this building's rent. I have like two years left and you're telling me I should move out tomorrow because someone bought the building?""You have to understand me, Miss Rachel. I'll refund your money but you can't stay here any longer because everyone in this building will be evicted in the next two days." Rachel's landlord, Mr Jones tried to calm her down but Rachel would have none of it. "Where do you expect me to get a building to live in within this short time? You want me homele
The duo were silent as Rachel drove down the dark road. The streetlights were bright in the darkness of twilight as Leia rested her chin on her knuckles, looking out the window of Rachel's crappy car. Said car was unusually silent and Leia could tell something was wrong with Rachel but she decided to not question it till they got back to the apartment. However, there has been something that has been bugging her since they left the station. What was annoying her was the fact that Mark left her in prison to rot there. He didn't even spend five minutes in the station and he didn't even look back to see if she was still there before he left the damned place. He was the reason that old filthy man called the police. Leia grits her teeth as she remembers what that old man did.Leia didn't even notice the car driving into an apartment's driveway. Rachel stopped the car after driving into the car park. Leia blinks at the abrupt stop. She watches in bemusement as Rachel turns off the igniti
Leia sits there waiting for Claire to come out regardless of being mistreated. Leia doesn't question her purposely delaying her. She has a weird feeling in her body but she isn't saying anything, nor is she asking for water or touching the juice she was served. No one in the Sky mansion is trustworthy to her. They are all under Claire's influence and Claire is evil.Soon Claire's footsteps echo in the living room and Leia looks up from the TV which she has her gaze focused on. Claire has dressed in an elegant short blue dress and her hair is up in a bun.She doesn't look like a middle-aged woman at all, she looks like she is in her early thirties."Why do we have you here again today Leia?" Claire says as she stops at the last step and then Leia pushes herself up to stand and greet the woman before her when she suddenly starts feeling dizzy. The ground beneath her is spinning and so is her head. Before Claire can utter another word, Leia falls to the floor, unconscious.A few hours la
"At least learn some manners first." Mark frowns angrily and she seems even angrier as she looks at him."What is he doing here?" She half whispers to Leia who looks back at Mark before replying."Well, he brought me home." She replies softly and Mark walks over to them and dumps the bag of medications in Leia's hands."Don't forget to take your pills and eat. Stress yourself more if you like. If you conduct a funeral for your child in the next few days, know pretty well that I won't pity you even though it might be related to me." Mark says with a hint of anger in his voice before he walks back into his car and drives off.Rachel looks at her in shock. She isn't expecting what Mark just said and she needs Leia to give a proper explanation of everything he just said, but she doesn't look like she's going to say anything about it right there, so Rachel just leads her into the house."Where have you been since morning? I've been worried." Rachel groans as she closes the main door. She h
Leia rushed into the station as soon as she drops Rachel off at the airport. Her body, pumping with excitement and determination to see Kasen, she was going to discuss with him and tell him about their baby. But the closer she gets to the station, the more her heart begins to thump, she could understand that avoiding him was just punishing herself. This was really how she felt towards him, she couldn't let him go. Clutching tightly to the file in her hand, she makes her way into the office."Hi officer, I want to see my husband," she requests, rushing her words as she glances around. The officer stares at her for a while, well he did recognize her, but he exhales before shaking his head. That wasn't looking like a good thing to Leia as she draws closer to questioning the action just now. "What's going on? Why aren't you asking someone to let me see him," she asks. As she looks around, she notices the eyes of people as they start at her but she scoffs at them. "Why're they sta
Leia clung to Opal, her body trembling as tears streamed down her face. Her friend lay in her arms, pale and fading, her life slipping away with each passing moment. The atmosphere seemed to close in around them, as if walls were pressing in on them, bearing witness to the tragedy that had unfolded.Amidst her heart-wrenching sobs, Leia's tear-blurred eyes rose to meet the gaze of the man who had just tried to take her life. It was the big boss, his face bruised and battered, his trousers stained with blood. He regarded Leia with disdain, his lip curled into a cruel sneer. He pointed the gun at her once more, his voice laced with a chilling determination."Second time's a charm," he hissed, his finger tightening on the trigger.Leia's world seemed to freeze at that moment. She closed her eyes, expecting the deafening gunshot to be the last sound she would ever hear. Death felt imminent, a crushing weight that pressed upon her chest. But then, the sound she heard was not the gunshot sh
Kasen and Leia stood in the dimly lit, small brick-walled room, their hearts pounding in their chests. The air was thick with tension, and the sound of trickling water echoed through the enclosed space, a chilling reminder of their predicament. Leia's eyes darted around, desperately searching for an escape route, but there were no windows, no doors, just cold, damp stone walls that seemed to be closing in on them. Her breaths came in short, panicked gasps as the water steadily crept up from cracks. She couldn't swim, and the rising water terrified her. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she began to cry. She sniffled a sob, trying to control her emotions. Kasen, determined to keep them both calm, reached out and gently touched Leia's shoulder. "Hey, Leia, listen to me," he said, his voice steady but laced with concern. "We need to stay calm and think this through. Panicking won't help us." Leia nodded, though her tears continued to flow. Kasen helped her press her back against t
Mark's eyes cracked open slowly, adjusting to the sterile, white surroundings of the hospital room. His head throbbed with pain, and every movement sent waves of discomfort through his body. He tried to remember how he had ended up here, but the events leading to this moment were a blur.As his vision cleared, Mark noticed two police officers standing by his bedside, their faces stern and unwavering. They were ready to question him, to unravel the web of events that had led to this tumultuous situation. Before they could begin their interrogation, the door to the hospital room swung open, and Kasen entered, his expression sombre. He walked over to the police officers and said something in a hushed tone. They nodded and reluctantly left the room, leaving Mark alone with Kasen.Mark tried to sit up, but the pain in his body made him wince. "Kasen, what's going on?"Kasen pulled up a chair and sat down, his gaze fixed on Mark. "I'll just talk to the inspector, it won't take long," he sai
The smell of gunpowder filled the air as bullets continue to whisk past them. Opal dove into the ground, escaping some shots merely by luck. "Retreat! Take cover!" She yelled, realising that in their current position, they could stand toe to toe against Mark's men.As they rushed backwards, a bullet sunk into the shoulders of one of Opal's men, ten impact making him to fall face down and roll. Opal quickly hopped over a rock, finding cover behind it as she rested her back against it, her chest heaving with exhaustion. She retrieved her gun and reloaded it, holding it tight with both her arms as she prepared for anything."Opal! I'm here, come out and fucking face me!" His voice resonated through the air, meeting her ears. He sounded like he was close, she wasn't sure how close, but close enough. Closer than he should be.She takes in a deep breath, "Fuck off!" She yelled back, hoping to deter him."Face me you coward!" He spat, his voice laced with anger."No!" She replied, her tone m
Mark and Leia had been running for what felt like hours, their breaths ragged and their hearts pounding. They had stumbled upon this cave in a desperate bid to escape the clutches of the big boss and his relentless henchmen. Now, as Leia rested her back against the damp, rocky wall, her chest heaved with exertion. The darkness of the cave enveloped them, offering a sliver of safety in an otherwise perilous situation.Outside, the big boss had ordered his patrol to scour the area, leaving no stone unturned in their search for his fugitives. The tension in the cave was palpable as Mark and Leia strained their ears for any signs of pursuit."So what now?" Leia asked. "They're after us."Mark sighed, knowing that what she was saying was true. "I don't know. Maybe we can wait it out in this cave," he replied.Just then, Mark's sharp eyes caught a flicker of movement at the cave entrance. He nudged Leia, and she froze, her fear mirroring the uncertainty in his eyes. The henchman who had jus
Although they had gone far, much farther than they could imagine, Mark's fears still caught up with him as he constantly turned back to look of her was safe from harm or not. Luckily he was with his phone as he speed dialed for back up, he couldn't wait any longer and it was times to put his plans into actions. "Everyone will pay he murmurs to himself out of anger. He couldn't possibly tane note of all those who had wronged him but there were a considerable amount that he remembers and couldn't wait to get his hands upon, one of them was his dearly most beloved cousin. Finally he reaches his safe place the place he had agreed upon to meet with his mean I'm order to get things in order. Everything was far behind but he could still see the flames from afar and Leia still choking from having inhaled a huge amount of it was coughing repeatedly to his disappointment. Finally he makes a turn and has Leie get down as they would continue the rest of their journey on foot, and Leia althou
Leia's breath could hardly breathe as she gasps for air repeatedly, her resistance knows no bounds as Mark couldn't help but fear, still he couldn't let her loose because he knows what she's capable off. She struggles against the restraints binding her to the ornate bed frame to the point where she had begun to bleed due to the injury on her wrist. Mark couldn't help but feel guilty as he found no one but himself responsible for her behaviour. Her eyes flickered with a wild, haunted look as they darted around the dimly lit room. "Let me go, let me go right now you madman, just you wait, I'll kill you as soon as I get away from here!" She promises Mark much to his fear. He couldn't possibly believe the words coming out of her mouth and feared the worst. Now she's become dangerous to both herself and himself. Mark stood at a cautious distance, not knowing what to do, his eyes filled with a mix of concern and fear. "Please calm down Leia, everything is going to be fine, I'll get yo
It took more than a while to calm Leia down as she would continuously try to wiggle her way out until she was finally subdued by Mark and fell asleep. Everything looked like hell for Mark wouldn't couldn't help but hope for the best to happen as it pained him to see Leia in this pathetic state, so much so that he refused to leave her bedside when she fell asleep.Everything was a disaster at this point and he just couldn't take it anymore. "Boss," his subordinate called for his attention. Mark couldn't help but feel irritated and yet he couldn't simply ignore their request as he knows that there's more to this interruption. With a heavy sigh he rises from the chair and follows them outside to hear what it is that they have to say. His men look rather worries while he was getting angry and the mere thought that they refuse to speak after calling him out. "Are you mute, hurry up and say something," he yells at them. Finally one of them volunteers to do the talking to which he appr
Despite his happiness, Mark's worst fears were about to become a reality. He dashed through the hallway, shoving whoever dared get in his way as he hurried for Leia's room."Is she okay, how is she, is she in good shape, is it something serious?" Mark suddenly questions in a rush. He couldn't wait, especially not after waiting two days already for either of the ladies to wake up. His joy at the moment knows no bounds as he hurries to enter into the bedroom, the only stopping him is the doctor in his way. "Should I kill him?" Mark questions himself while he stares at the frightened woman who seems to repeatedly block each route he tries to take. "For god sake Mr. Sky you have to calm down," the woman yells. He couldn't possibly believe his eyes and eyes as he stared at the puny woman who seemed to lack a lot more flesh than Leia had. "It'll just take one twist and she'd probably pass on," he tells himself as she stares at her, examining what to do about this sudden disturbance.
