Cracked Walls.

The morning sun gently creeps through the curtains in the hospital waiting room as Mark anxiously sits, glancing at the clock with every passing minute. He taps his fingers on his crossed arms, worrying about making him jumpy.

Leia is still undergoing surgery, and the weight of their past disagreement weighs heavily on his mind. Memories of the previous day flooded his mind, causing a bitter ache in his chest.

The pain shocks him. He never realized how much his and Leia's lives had become entwined until she was on an operations table, fighting for her life.

He releases his arms from its crossed position and presses the pads of his fingers into his eyes, the digits soothing the ache there.

'Did I cause this?.' Mark ponders, lost in his revelry as he rubs his hands over his eyes.
