Chapter 3

Kimberly changed into a white crop top and a short black skirt before stepping out of her car. This was the nightclub she often visited with Nicholas since their college days.

Many say that men and women can't be friends without involving feelings, but in reality, they can. That's because Kimberly knew that Nicholas's preference wasn't women. So even when she got drunk, she felt safe in Nicholas's hands.

Passing the bouncers, Kimberly could enter immediately because they were familiar with her.

The loud music echoed in her ears. Unconsciously, Kimberly moved her body, enjoying the music played by the DJ. The smell of alcohol grew stronger over time. But it didn't bother Kim at all. It seemed to pump her up even more.

At the end of the hallway, she paused to look down at the dance floor below. Hundreds of people gathered, dancing as one. There were no boundaries between men and women. They blended into one, accompanied by the music that grew more spirited as the night progressed.

She stayed there for a moment and then headed to the bar. Many pairs of eyes watched her due to her sexy appearance. Her beautiful face and stunning body resembled a Greek goddess. Some even looked at her with hungry eyes.

Kimberly ignored their stares because she came to the club to have fun. Of course, Kimberly's idea of fun was different from those sleazy men. Kimberly went to the club just to drink and dance until her mind was at ease.

"Hi, Ben. Do you have a new menu?" Kimberly greeted before sitting on a high chair in front of the bar. Ben, who was making drinks for guests, turned and smiled at her. Kimberly really likes to try new concoctions made by Ben. For her, Ben's hands are like the hands of a god when mixing drinks. It seems like Ben is blessed so that the concoctions he creates always make her addicted.

"Hi, Kim. Wait a moment! Alright!" Ben smiled, and Kimberly responded with a faint smile. He looked busy with a shaker in his hand.

Shortly after, Ben approached Kim. He offered a new menu to Kim. "I tried a new formula, and I think you'll like it. It's a strong and spicy taste that stings the tongue, but you'll find a refreshing sweetness afterward." Ben said enthusiastically. He was sure Kimberly would be willing to try it. He knew she was someone who liked challenges.

Kimberly remained silent for a moment, then nodded. "Make it for me, Ben. Don't disappoint me!"

"Of course! I'm sure you'll like it."

Ben started mixing the drink and pouring it into a shaker. Kimberly watched him intently. She was very curious about what Ben was mixing.

About ten minutes later, the drink was served on the table. Kimberly examined it carefully before taking a sip. She furrowed her brows when the liquid touched her tongue. The spicy taste immediately felt like a burning fire.

"Not bad!" Kimberly commented before taking another sip. She always enjoyed strong flavours like this because they helped her forget her life's troubles momentarily.

Ben looked pleased with Kimberly's comment and expression as she drunk. He then turned around to attend to other customers.

Kimberly swivelled her chair with the glass in her hand. She rested her elbow on the table and savoured the drink, sip by sip. Her gaze remained fixed on the dance floor, where people looked happy. They laughed as if they had no worries at all.

Focusing on her drink and what she saw, Kimberly didn't realise there was a man sitting next to her, inching closer and shifting his chair towards her.

"Are you here alone?" the man, holding a glass of beer, asked.

"No! I'm waiting for my boyfriend!" Kimberly replied nonchalantly. She resumed enjoying her drink and disregarded the man. This wasn't the first time men had tried to hit on her. She knew she was pretty and sexy, so things like this happened often.

Although Kimberly never came to the club with Harry, she always claimed it to every man who tried to approach her. And when Nicholas arrived, she would stick to him as if they were a couple. That was enough to make the men leave.

The man nodded while sipping his beer. "Looks like your boyfriend is late."

Kimberly remained silent and didn't respond. This offended the man. His friendly face turned stiff and haunted. "You're pretty, but it seems you're also deaf," he sneered, giving Kimberly a sarcastic smile.

Kimberly just glanced at him lazily. She wouldn't waste her time arguing with a man like him. She placed her glass down and stood up to move away. When she reached the dance floor, Kimberly started dancing, following the pounding rhythm. She just wanted to blend in without thinking about anything.

She danced alone for quite some time until the man came down and danced in front of her. Kimberly just scowled and then turned around to avoid him. But the man seemed interested in her. He kept following her and tried to face Kimberly.

Getting annoyed, Kimberly decided to leave and pushed through the crowd. However, the man seemed more intrigued, unwilling to let go of Kimberly. He followed her, making Kimberly uncomfortable and slightly scared. And when Kimberly was about to reach the edge, the man grabbed her arm forcefully, pulling her into his embrace.

"Don't play hard to get, bitch! Weren't you here to have fun? I'd gladly fulfil your wish." The man's hand still gripped Kimberly's arm, placing it behind her waist. He even pressed Kimberly's body against his tightly.

Kimberly struggled, trying to free herself. But the man's grin seemed to mock her because her strength wasn't enough. “Let's have some fun. I'm sure I'm better than your boyfriend.”

“Really? I bet you can't even satisfy me. Or even yours doesn't work so you have to offer yours to someone else?” Kimberly taunted with a smile that made the man grind his teeth, angry.

“You doubt my prowess in bed, Bitch?” the man said without opening his mouth. Although each word was spoken slowly, there was anger in his eyes.

“Of course! I'm not going to waste my time playing around with a guy who can't even satisfy me.” Kimberly raised one eyebrow as well as her lips. A look of contempt was clearly visible on the woman's face, making the man in front of her even more furious.

The man tightened his embrace on Kimberly. His one hand even dared to squeeze Kimberly's buttocks, making Kimberly furious to raise her hand, slapping the man hard. Her body trembled between anger and fear.

“Let go of me, you bastard! My boyfriend will be here soon! He'll hit you hard!” threatened Kimberly as she squirmed, trying to get away. Seeing Kimberly's fear, the man laughed loudly.

"Huhu... Really? You're scaring me," the man said in a half-mocking tone.

Seeing that her threat didn't get the response she wanted, Kimberly looked for a way to break free. She smirked when the man dug his own grave. He slightly widened his legs as if showing Kimberly how big he was now. But that gave Kimberly an opening.

After taking a deep breath, Kimberly brought her knee up to hit something that was most precious to the man. The source of his pleasure and the future of his offspring.

. The man screamed in pain and quickly released his grip. Of course, Kimberly didn't waste the opportunity. She turned around and fled. But as she headed towards the bar, her body collided with someone. Looking up, she was shocked to see who was in front of her. However, she immediately hugged the person.

"Nicholas, thank goodness. I've been waiting for you," she felt relieved that it was Nicholas. Kimberly let go of the hug and clung playfully to the man's arm, making Nicholas feel a bit awkward. But when he saw a man running frantically and looking at them strangely, he understood. Nicholas played along with Kimberly's game, embracing her warmly.

"Forgive me, dear, for keeping you waiting," he said while kissing the top of Kimberly's head. Seeing this, the man who had teased Kimberly could only watch them angrily. He clenched his fists and then turned away.
