Chapter 6: The video.

Laurel pov

I walked into my room and rested my back on the door and I slowly slid down to the floor and crawled up with my knees up and my hands holding my kneel.I buried my face inside my knees and began to silently cry.

I wasn't crying because my parents died ,I was crying because I knew that what Noah said was true.

I didn't want to believe it at first ,but I heard my parents making some calls after they tied me up in the chair and there was nothing I could do but I was hoping that It wasn't true, maybe I wish that I would be killed and rest.

I sighed and stood up, no matter how much I tried to make Noah out to be the bad guy, I knew that he was better than the men I will meet out there.

I have already gotten involved with him , I don't think there was any way I could escape this life now.

I walked to the closet and opened it and saw that he had my clothes from our old apartment here and I scoffed.

Noah must have known that I was making arrangements to run away ,but he didn't even try to stop me.

I just shook my head and took my pajamas and walked to take a shower and then head to bed. I will see what I can do tomorrow to get on Noah's good side.

Noah might not have done anything to me because I was the mother of his child ,but that still doesn't change the fact that I shot him and tried to kill him.

The next morning was not the same, when I walked into the kitchen Tracy was already eating breakfast at the breakfast table and Noah was making a cup of tea.

He saw me and looked up.

“Come and sit down and eat,” He told me and Tracy saw me and giggled.

“Good morning mummy,” Tracy our daughter greeted me happily and I walked up to her and kissed her cheek.

“Good morning baby,” I replied with a smile and walked to sit on my side to eat, Noah sat down with us and after eating Tracy went to her room to play with her toys and Noah took out my phone from his pocket and kept it on the table.

“I removed the bug that was on your phone,” he told me as he stood up.

“Thank you,” I told him and he began clearing the table.

“Leave it, I will do it,” I told him and he shook his head.

“No, I should start doing this myself ,so I'll get used to it,” he said and I looked up to him.

Was he still trying to kick me out?

My heart began thudding loudly in my chest, as he walked to the sink to wash the dishes.

“Are you going to kick me out?” I asked him in surprise.

“I'll give you some money so that you can leave, I will find something to tell Tracy,” Noah informed me as he turned on the tap, took the sponge and began washing the dishes.

“Why can't I stay?” I asked him and he sighed.

“You tried to kill me and I don't know if I can turn my back on you right now, I'm even wondering if you take a knife and try to stab me in the back,” Noah said in a low voice.

I could not tell if he was upset because he wasn't looking at me.

“No I won't, it was a mistake,” I pleaded with him.

“Laurel, go inside your room, I can't trust you with my back turned to you,” Noah retorted and I bit my lower lips.

I had more to say but I did not know what I would say that would cause more problems .

“Okay we will talk later,” I stood up and walked back into my room and shut the door and I slumped to the floor.

If he gives me money to leave, where will I go?

How can I live without my daughter?

I was still thinking about what to do when my phone chirped, I checked it was a video message and I opened the video and saw my aunt , uncle and their children tied to a chair and getting whipped.

My eyes widened in surprise and fear as my hands began to tremble, the scene suddenly changed to a man wearing a mask and he chuckled slowly, it was a low haunting laugh.

“I made some arrangements with your parents to bring you to me ,but when I went to the warehouse they were already killed,” The masked man huffed in annoyance.

“I guess Noah must have gotten there before I did, well a deal is to deal I have gotten hold of your uncle and his family as compensation,” he continued to say in a twisted tone.

“I'll give you from now to the end of tomorrow, if you don't come over here yourself ,I'll start with their children and I'll kill them,” he paused as I heard my uncle screaming in pain.

“Shut him up,” The masked man told one of his colleagues and I heard a bang and my uncle stopped screaming.

“Well where was I…” he paused to think.

“Oh right, come here yourself, if you want when you come to me I can even give your uncle amd his family the money I was supposed to give to your parents as compensation for the torture they are going through just know their life is in your hands,” He told me as he went to my uncle and grabbed his hair and pulled his face covered with blood up to face the camera.

“I have sent the address to come with your daughter if you don't want to suffer or come alone and suffer and remember don't tell Noah,” The masked man concluded the video speech.

He laughed again and I flinched in fear, when I heard my uncle's agonising screams continue.

“No please I beg you this has nothing to do with me, i am a good citizen i don't gamble,” My uncle pleaded with him but he refused to listen to him.

My phone fell from my hand ,as I began shaking violently and I felt my whole body shivering.

Why are they going this far?

My parents are dead already shouldn't this be the end?
