Anika’s P.O.V:
I paced around the living area, anxious and worried. The entire pack had gone to war today and I couldn’t do anything else but worry.
Fin was a part of the recovery team, a team of ‘healers’ as she told me. They were wolves with special powers to speed up the healing of other wolves. It was a special power bestowed upon the wolves by the Moon Goddess and only special wolves had them. Every pack had two to three healers. It was an ability that I was starting to crave.
Damnit! If I had the abilities of a wolf, even if not to the fullest, when were they supposed to show up? Why didn’t I feel any different? I remember Gustav telling me that for now, the powers will come in burst, in no particular order. But at this moment, I really wanted to have super-strength or at least have extended claws so I could rip the throat out of that bitch, Sabrina.
But my pacing wasn’t helping anyone so I tried
Anika’s P.O.VA gasp left my lips as I returned to consciousness, but I couldn’t find the strength to open my eyes.My head was throbbing and my jaw ached so bad it felt like something must have knocked out my teeth, like I had been hit by something hard. And then the memories came rushing back, making me realized…it wasn’t a hit; it was a claw mark that made my jaw ache. It was Sabrina’s claw mark.“Wakey, wakey little girly!” Sabrina’s voice sounded oddly close, before cold water splashed onto my face, making me gasp out loud, forcing me to open my eyes.“There you are.” Sabrina’s smiling face came into view, as she bent in front to me to be eye level with me. “I thought I would have to wait longer, but you sure are resilient.”Blinking rapidly to get the water out of my eyes, I looked around the room to grasp the situation. My house looked fine
Axton’s P.O.V:I blinked my eyes open, feeling my entire body ache like I had just been hit by a truck.Oh! I was hit…wasn’t I?Sabrina shot me and I jumped in front of the bullet to save Gustav. After the shitty life he had been forced to live thanks to my parents…it was the least I could have done for him.My vision was hazy…dark. And I couldn’t really feel anything at all. Was I really dead?“Axton?” Came the voice of an Angel.I tried to open my mouth, to talk, but it didn’t happen. Nothing was coming out. I couldn’t find words…all I could do was make this low groaning sound that was barely illegible.Suddenly, the lights turned on in the room, bright and harsh and I had to close my eyes shut tightly to escape from its harshness.“Hey,” I inhaled her scent as she came closer…felt the heat of her touch through my clothes
Hello everyone! Saving Alpha Axton had come to an end, but this is just the beginnig of the journey. The sequel, Torn Between Alpha Mates will be out before the end of this year, I promise. But in the meantime, I do want to take a short break from writing werewolf stories. As a writer, it becomes repetative to write about the same topic over and over again. That's why, I'll temporarity be shifting to the Billionaire/CEO and the Badboy genre's to refresh my mind, before I continue with the sequel. Please be patient with me and I hope you understand my dilemma. And a big thank you to everyone who read this book. It's my very first exclusive after being a traditionally published author and I'm very thankful to all of you who made it so far into this journey. Please feel free to leave your honest opinions, so I can be aware of my mistakes in the future and provide you with an even better reading experience. And most of all, thank you Nakuru Murakami! I love
Chapter 1: Anika’s P.O.V “Exotic…exquisite, and efficient. We hardly see such deadly combination in women nowadays.” My boss, Steven Hallow, a man in his mid 40’s with a beautiful wife and two lovely children…clinked his Champagne flute to mine and at the same time, rubbed his sock covered feet up my bare leg. I forced a smile at the senior surgeon and moved my legs out of the way, but it wasn’t all that comfortable while sitting right next to the man in question, and when I was in a room filled with guests and trustee members who were all gathered to donate handsome amounts to the hospital funds to help us with our research work. I always knew Steven had a habit of coming on too strong and underestimating women in the medical work field, but he had always been a bit too…touchy-feely, if that was even a word, when it had come to me. Steven hadn’t always been this obvious or open about his ‘liking’ towa
Chapter 2: Axton’s P.O.V: I fixed the collar of my shirt and looked at the bouquet of multicolored lilies in my hand, debating if I should have brought something else instead. Lily Arliss loved her namesake flowers. She wasn’t a woman people would exactly call delicate; she had survived the tyranny of an arrogant Alpha and come out sane on the other side. She was the one who had sent a secret letter to me asking for my pack’s assistance in helping them overthrow their Alpha. And she was also the woman who had helped save several of their packmates when my pack had attacked. In many ways, she was the ideal Luna, the one who stayed calm even in the eyes of the storm. The one who always knew what to do even if the situation proved to be impossible. But I had learned too late that she had never been meant to be mine. When I had attacked Lily’s old pack and overthrown their Alpha, I had to return back to my p
Chapter 3: Anika’s P.O.V “Rahul?” I looked from my fiancé to my roommate. “Ash?” “Anika…” Ash laughed nervously, pulling the sheets up to her neck as her and Rahul sprang apart. “This isn’t how it looks like…” My mind just shifted to autopilot-bitch mode on its own. It was my defense mechanism since I was a teenager. Being continuously harassed for my ‘smelly hair’ and ‘curry’ lunches, I had developed almost like a split-personality that didn’t give a shit about what other people thought and always ended up getting me in trouble, but it was what had helped me survive The American High School Experience as a woman of colour. “Really?” I pulled out my phone from my purse and snapped a picture of the shameless duo without a second thought. “Because this clearly looks like cheating to me.” I held the phone up to show them their picture and Rahul sprang up from the bed, in all his three inch glory and rushe
Axton’s P.O.V“Gustav…” My voice came out a whisper, as I slowly stood up from the floor; Lily’s body lying unmoving by my feet.“Axe…why?” Gustav fell to the floor, his eyes wide and fixated on Lily’s lifeless form.“Alpha…” One of the men next to Gustav looked at me in horror before looking at Lily’s lifeless form and then back up at me.Everyone stood stunned, rooted to their spot; including me. The situation kept getting worse with every second that passed.“I found her like this, I swear.” I told my half-brother, putting my hands up in surrender as I watched his lips tremble as he watched blood gush out of Lily’s heart. It is said that when a sharp object is impaled in your body, you mustn’t pull it out to prevent death due to blood loss. But the dagger that had been plunged into Lily’s heart had been silver. T
Anika’s P.O.VThis evening, I got harassed by my boss and almost got molested; punched my boss in the nuts to escape. Got home to find my fiancé in bed with my roommate and then found out he had been cheating on me for five whole months. And finally, got kicked out of my preferred hospital and ended up on a stupid clinic by the mountain side where the only patients I would be treating would be a few deer’s and grizzlies. If only I had been fired and thrown out of my house at the same time, it would’ve been the perfect plot for some kind of a CEO romance novel bullshit. The CEO’s Doctor Sex Slave, or, CEO’s personal Maid. Wouldn’t that just be the perfect title for my messed up life? The only difference was, the real world didn’t have half as many CEO’s as they did in the romance novels and not every girl that went through a rough day was lucky enough to land on a CEO’s lap, espe

Anika’s P.O.V“So…?” Tiffany asked as I came inside the cabin and shut the door behind me.A sigh escaped my lips as I felt physically and emotionally drained. I shook my head, telling her that I was alright. “I’ll get some rest.” I told her, heading to my room. “I just feel tired.”“Okay.” Fin nodded, continuing to unpack the stuff she brought with her. “I’ll call you when dinner’s ready.”“No, I-”The doorbell rang at that moment, making me groan. Who could it be this time? I simply didn’t want to meet or talk to anyone, ever again. Why couldn’t the universe leave me alone?“I’ll get it.” Fin got up from the floor, where she had her overnight bag laid out and headed to the door.I turned to leave for my room regardless, because I was dead tired, but her next words made me stop dead in
Gustav’s P.O.VSabrina’s smile was both cunning and seductive as she folded her hands in front of her chest, her black dress hugging her body like a glove. Her lips were painted a deep red and her makeup was flawless. Everything about her exuded power and strength, except…she didn’t have the scent of an Alpha. She never had.In short, she was just another privileged ‘Alpha’ who got the responsibility of a pack as a ‘hand-me-down’. But that’s where her similarity with Axton ended. Sabrina was a cunning woman, enough to have held her pack together for nearly forty years. But as time passes and new members are added or born, her power keeps weakening. That’s why she wants to mate an Alpha so desperately. She doesn’t mind becoming a Luna, as long as she can secure a future full of fortunes.“I heard you had fun seducing my brother.” I leaned back in my chair, never
Anika’s P.O.V“You have me.” I told him.“Anika?” Axton’s voice felt like a low whisper at the back of my mind as I felt a kind of blood rush to my ears.I couldn’t see anything else, feel anything else but Gustav’s presence right in front of me. his eyes were wide as he looked into mine and for a second…I thought I saw golden lightning zap through them. And that feeling resonated inside my own body as a shiver ran down my spine.“What-?” I blinked in surprise, letting go of his arm as it felt like I was holding onto something red-hot and burning.Gustav broke eye contact to look up at Axton and Tiffany. “Tell the pack to prepare. Also let them know that I’m reinstating Axton into my pack as a soldier from now on. If he wants to get back the respect of the pack, he’ll have to crawl his way to the top. And for now, take him to live in my old house,
Gustav’s P.O.V I turned my gaze towards Axton sharply. From the look on his face, it was clear what was going on at this moment. “Axton?” I tried to keep my voice under control so it wouldn’t startle Anika, but in the end, I couldn’t. It hadn't even been a week when Emilio and Damien had traced down Axton’s scent to the Dawn Valley manor. Not even a week when Anika had been crying in my arms because of his betrayal. What was wrong with my brother? Why did he find it so easy to cheat and sleep around? How could he be manipulated so easily? “She wanted me to be her mate.” Axton said, looking down at the floor with his hands clenched at his sides. I immediately turned to Anika. “You don’t have to listen to this.” “Listen to this?” Anika raised her eyebrows as she gave a humorless laugh. “I found his face between her legs at the dinner table. The dinner that she invited us to, after apparently saving me from some wolf. She
Anika’s P.O.VThere was a long list of regrets in my life where I wish things could have been different or that I could have made better choices. But this time, I was done blaming myself for other people’s fuck ups! If Axton, Gustav and the rest couldn’t own up to their mistakes, I wasn’t blaming myself for them either.I never asked to be involved in this feud. I never asked to be brought into this world. I never asked to fall for either of the brothers and then be used as a tool to play tug of war with the two of them.“You tried to warn me, didn’t you?” I told her now. “But I didn’t listen.”“It’s not that you didn’t listen…none of us ever gave you anything to suspect. The brothers used your innocence against you. And I am so sorry for it.”“Why didn’t you at least try to warn me?” I had asked her th
