TANIA'S POV

The next thing I felt after those strong hands pulled me over to the side was my ass hitting the ground and before I could understand what was happening around me, I yelled out immediately I saw a black wolf jump out from the other side to attack me but there was someone that stood in place of me.

It was a man. At least I could tell from the visible outline that curbed out from my night vision. He pulled me and began to battle with the Wolf. It even made me wonder if he had seen it before he pulled me to the side. That explains it – he saw the wolf coming to attack me and then he saved me right on time.

I panicked as I beheld the fight that continued between the animal and the man. I was still uncertain as to whether the wolf was a pure animal or a werewolf turned animal but either way I dragged myself backwards trying to find solace in the nearest tree that could protect me from the deadly combat.

As soon as I settled in, curling myself to the ground with my knees hugging my chest and my back resting against the tree, that was when I got to take a glimpse at what was really going on.

This man... Whoever he was had saved me from getting torn apart by the Wolf. Even with my speed and carefulness, I wasn't able to notice the dangerous creature before it attacked and yet this man saved me from it. Maybe it was because I was too focused on escaping and I wasn't focusing on my surroundings. Maybe that is why I didn't notice the Wolf.

He battled so elegantly, slashing his sword all over the body of the wolf with ease and as though he was born to fight that way. His steps were calculated and his tactics swift. The brawl didn't take long before the man finally killed the wolf with one last slash.

Due to how fast he was, I was unable to get a glimpse of his face and even as he had emerged victorious from the dangerous fight, I was still unable to catch sight of him because he had his back towards me. He wiped his blood stained sword with a piece of cloth and sheathed his sword back.

For another minute, I was taken aback by the approaching steps – the one which I heard before the wolf attacked me and I am sure that he heard it too.

I got up to my feet, dusting my ass and palms and looked towards the direction of the fast approaching steps with widened eyes and in one swipe, taken unawares again, the strange man pulled me to a hidden corner where the trees and leaves acted as shade.

He made me rest my back against a tree with his hands shielding the back of my head from hitting hard against the tree trunk. And goodness gracious, my heart started to pound heavily inside my chest, almost as if it was going to explode any minute.

Maybe it was because I was uncertain of who this man that had saved me was or maybe... Just maybe it was because of how close our bodies were. There was only a little distance between the two of us and even though he concentrated his gaze at the direction where my enemies were coming from, I was taking my time noting the features of this man.

Even in that panic state, nothing seemed to bother me -- not the guards of Crescida who were looking for me and not even the fact that I was standing uncomfortably with a man I knew nothing about.

He smelt of grass and of the forest but there was something else -- he smelt of fruit or maybe it was soap. Whichever one it was, it was a unique scent -- a type that not only fit him but made him seem more strange.

He had long dark hair that stopped at his shoulders and a jawline as sharp as the edge of a sword. And his face was square shaped in nature. All thanks to the moonlight and my night vision, I was able to note his features easily except the color of his eyes but it wasn't like that was important at that moment. While I stared at him, his focus remained still on my rivals and seeing his sole concentration fully in a specific direction, my mind was brought back to my reality.

It was then that I noticed that The Demilune Pack had arrived fully. In fact they were at the exact spot that my savior had slain the black Wolf. I couldn't see what they were doing due to my position but I could hear their voices and the words they spoke.

"Could it be that she killed this wolf?" Came the voice of one of them as he pointed his fire torch all over the body of the dead animal. I don't think she went far. She should be somewhere around this place."

"Nah… I don't think so. These are slashes from a sword. Only a skilled warrior or Hunter can do this," came the voice of another. At least the second person wasn't dumb. There was just no way that I would kill an animal in that manner. Did I even have any fighting skills to begin with? Well, I used to but not now.

Everywhere was suddenly overtaken with silence but from all indications, the rival pack still littered all over the place as I could see their torches swaying from all directions. What followed next was the sound of footsteps crunching against the rusted leaves on the ground, coming towards the side we hid in.

Fear gripped me as I knew that one of them was actually coming towards us. If we eventually got caught, it would be over for me and every effort made by this strange man to save me would be in vain.

As if my savior knew that I was about to let out a fear indicating sound, he covered my mouth with his hand and pressed himself against my body, trying to avoid being seen by my rival pack.

I looked down at my chest and found my breasts pressing against his chest and my eyes remained fixated in that position. I lifted up my face and that was when I saw that he was actually staring at me. I thought he was looking in the direction where the approaching footsteps were coming from but he didn't look like he was bothered that we might be caught in no time. He was looking straight into my eyes for the very first time that night and we remained still in that position.

My gaze was fixed on his eyes as he was on mine – it was hypnotic. Why didn't I seem to care that a strange man (who saved me by the way) was peering into my eyes in that manner?

The fire torch reached where we were but he was unable to see us; we had been totally hidden by the trees and their branches and so he was unable to sight us even though we could see him.

"Let's go. She isn't here and wherever she is, I am certain that she won't last long. It is impossible to survive in these woods alone."

I don't know how true the words he spoke were, but it was scary to hear and still, it was better for me to die in the woods than to remain in their Kingdom.

What followed next was the sounds of retreating steps by the Demilune Pack. I guess they got exhausted with their search for me and so they went back to where they came from. Crescida.

I closed my eyes and exhaled deeply. For a brief moment I forgot that my savior had his hand over my mouth and as soon as I opened my eyes, I was startled to see that he was still staring at me.

TANIA'S POVMy eyes widened as soon as my eyes met with his and he released his hand from my mouth."What are you thinking?" Came his low pitched voice as he continued to stare into my eyes with our bodies still pressing against each other. This was the first time that I was hearing him speak and his voice sounded different from other voices that I have heard before. There was no word for it. Or maybe there was but I just couldn't describe it. Stern? Yes, that one was for sure. Deep? I think Baritone was better, but that wasn't the word I was looking for yet. Fruity… That was it. This was the perfect word that I could use to describe him. His voice was stern, vivid but fruity, especially with the way he asked me that question.I felt ripples of an intense feeling surge through my body. That was definitely a first. That was the first time I felt that way after hearing a man speak. Or maybe it was the cold, I convinced myself. I cleared my throat and pushed away, creating a space for me

TANIA'S POVI hesitated at first because I still had my doubts about him but then I reminded myself that this man saved me and it was his place that I was going to. If he wanted to harm me then there would have been no need for him to save me from the Night Wolf. But what if he saved me to present me as a feast for his people? If that was the case, then he wouldn't have threatened to leave me to die here in the woods under this freezing cold?Aside from that, there was just this aura of comfort that I felt around this man. I didn't know him but it felt as though he was someone that was worth knowing. Or someone that is worth being with. Maybe I was being delusional. Why was I even reasoning these things at this time as if I had another option aside from accepting his hand?Without further hesitation, I placed my hands in his and good Goddess, his hands were warm to the touch. TANIA:So there was a celebration after all. I wasn't wrong in my perception as I thought that the inaudible noises weren't ordinary. How come there was an ongoing celebration and Talon decided to spend his night in the woods? What was he even doing there in the first place? He led the way and I followed but I was still curious as to why he wasn't joining them in whatever it was they were celebrating."How come you are not partaking in the ceremony? Aren't you one of them?" I inquired, cocking my head to the side to get a glimpse at his face. Who knows? He might be angry about something. There was just no way that his people would be celebrating something and he decided to be in the forest, killing a wolf and saving me. "I don't like noise. Ceremonies are..." Talon hummed. "...tiring.""So are you saying that you don't want to partake just because it's noisy? Is that why you went into the woods?""Yes. Whenever I'm bored, I go for a hunting spree. Too bad it didn't go as I planned. I

What did he mean by he was going to help me get enough of him and it was going to happen gradually? Of course I couldn't ask him that. I had already bombarded him with enough questions for the night and I thought he deserved a moment of peace and quiet. We continued quietly until we got to the town square. The cheering sounds of the people became more audible as we had now neared the center of the celebration. There was just so much going on; the vibrating sounds of drum beats filled the air, young women danced to the melody of the music in feather outfits swaying their hips from side to side, the older women played the timbres and cymbals, clapping their hands and stomping their feet on the ground in rhythm of the music. Stunt men performed all sorts of tricks -- like taking fire into his mouth and spitting it out into the air while the people cheered on. Children giggled and wiggled their way through the crowd playing and having their own kind of fun and so many other interesting t

TANIA:"Whoa!" I exclaimed as I beheld one of the most amazing sights that I have ever seen.Talon and I just got into the house. The word house was an understatement. It was more like a palace even though I knew that it was a place that housed him and his pack.Constructed antiques stood together in a row beautifying the walls of the hallway and giving it this old familiar look of my lesson school back in Porthove. My teachers would have loved to see these things. If only they were standing next to me right now, they wouldn't hesitate to give me lectures on what they think about the pieces. Silver plated candlesticks were laid out on the wall with lit candles on them, illuminating the passage and the entire house. The smell of spice and myrrh filled my nostrils and I couldn't help but wonder what more there was in the house.I followed Talon to the stairs and I wasted no time in running my hands on the banister. It was cold and smooth to the touch, giving me a sense of home. How I wi

"Will you just calm down, Tania? What is wrong with you? Are you acting this way just because you are seeing my--" Talon dropped his hands. I was sure that he was tired of me at this point. Maybe he was asking himself what kind of girl I was and why I was reacting like that but how was I expected to act like? Was I supposed to gasp in awe and wrap my hands around his neck just because an Alpha stripped in front of me?Why the hell was he so bold? Was he usually like this around the females? Immediately I began to wonder how many maidens have gotten a glimpse of what I was seeing? I have never been so shocked in a long time as I was at that very moment.I didn't even mind that my feet were dirty and I stepped on the neatly dressed bed covered with white sheets."Just a while ago, you were bothered about staining the floor with your dirty feet and now look at you," Talon commented, his hand gesturing towards the faintly stained bed.Yeah right, at this point I knew I had to come down. My ears must have been deceiving me. I stood frozen for the greater part of time in front of Talon as I tried to assimilate what he had just said. Or should I say commanded."What?! I should do what!" I repeated, my eyes widened in both shock and curiosity. The temperature in the room dropped instantly -- it felt as though my entire body was on heat. I guess it was that one word that he spilled out that made me feel that way.Strip....The last time I heard such a word was in Crescida, by one of the Betas of Demilune Pack. I could vividly remember what had happened that day when I was asked to serve the Alphas and Betas that were holding a meeting. As was with male werewolves, it was never difficult for them to lust after a woman since they had a higher sex drive than the women.I could remember the disgust that filled my eyes when I saw them smack the butts of the females from my pack, The Blue Moon Pack. Some of them would lay hold of their breasts as the ladies bent to pour them dr

"Why, Princess? Are you scared of me?" Talon asked me, his eyes peering into mine and not flickering away for a minute. "No I'm not. I just think it's inappropriate for me to strip in front of you like that. It is not like I am your girl or something. It doesn't make sense," I told him."Then be my girl then. Be my girl so that you won't have any excuse to give me when I request for a thing like this."I couldn't believe Talon right now. The way he was interpreting the situation wasn't the way I intended it to be. Who told him that I was trying to become his girl? I was only making a valid point. I wanted to tell him that it is only those that had a thing going on between them that could do such sensual things and there he was saying things that didn't just seem to make sense.Besides, I was just meeting him for the first time. I didn't know who he was and we haven't even started with each other for a full day, so how come he was asking me to be his girl just because he was looking f
