Pete was nowhere around my chambers. She had been drifting away since she noticed my attraction to Vera and how she was willing to die for me. It took me a long time to notice Pete's detachment and how I felt about Vera.

Seeing the coast was clear, I walked into my bedroom, locked the door and walked into my secret Calderon.

In no time, I was walking down the path that led to the secret room where I kept Vera. I couldn't wait to break the news of the ceremony happening the next day. Although it seemed rushed and I wanted to use it as bait, I still wanted Vera to enjoy every bit of it.
