Justin's information about the neighboring pack had been on my mind for a while now. He had informed me that they were suffering greatly due to bad leadership which had caused poverty, sickness, and death in the pack, and this information bothered me a lot and even more so since Zara came into my life.
Having Zara in my life made me understand that suffering existed and could break or maim the victim for life. Some people could be lucky to escape like Zara did, while others might not be as lucky as she was. However, I did not understand how an alpha could run his pack down to the level that Justin was talking about.
