Margareth POV
Once I agreed to meet Bastian in his place, Xavier darted his cold glance at me and yelled, “Why did you agree to meet him?? Didn’t you think that he had planned something bad for you?” I rolled my eyes as his yelling brushed my ears. Therefore, Stressful feelings encountered my mind and heart whenever he began to show his jealousy of me too much. Attentively, it was fine if he felt that kind of emotion. Nonetheless, sometimes, he accused me for having an affair with other men. It was unreasonable since there were no strong proofs being shown. That was also the main cause of having argument with him although I didn’t wish it would happen. Therefore, I clarified, “He is just a friend from a neighbor pack, Xavier. I only want to socialize with him and nothing else.” “Socialize? Do you think I’m innocent enough to understand what you mean??” Xavier raised his voice tone as his glance became sharper. “Is it wrong for me to socialize with the pack members or neighbor pack’s members?” I secured myself through the uttered question. Then, I proceeded, “How about you hanging out with Selena and cheating from me?? Even before it is revealed, have I ever limited your freedom to socialize?!” The truths coming out from my mouth slapped his face immediately. In consequence, he avoided an eye-contact with me along with his silence. Leastwise, I was able to remind that he was also wrong at the first place. Even, it would be better if he felt sorry and stopped meeting Selena for my sake. Nevertheless, it might be my dull expectation. Xavier Brown was quite persistent when it was about his free will for having another woman, besides me as his Luna and wife. Then, I got out from the room for preparing myself. I knew Bastian was not a close friend or a crush, but as a woman, I tended to dress properly for making better impression. As I reached the bedroom on the second floor, I opened the minimalist wooden style wardrobe where the dresses were placed. As my eyes determined each glimpse of the attires for a moment, I then picked a sky blue casual dress with the length above my knees. After I put on the dress, I put a few make ups as I stared at my reflection carefully. At the same time, my wolf, Emma commented, “Have you already hit on our fated mate? It seems like you are over the moon now.” Frowning with a few thought in my mind, I claimed, “What did you mean by fated mate? You know that I’m married to Xavier, and he is my mate already.” Emma sighed and uttered, “Let me remind you that he is just your chosen mate. It is different from fated mate whom you cannot deny his existence. Whenever you meet him, you feel a strange attraction, but you are willing to get close to him.” While I still focused on the make ups, I insisted, “Well, it is nice to hear about the fact, but it is too sweet to be true. Plus, if Bastian is supposed to be my fated mate, why didn’t we meet earlier? At least, before I get engaged to Xavier.” After listening to my words, Emma left no words as she closed the mental connection. It seemed that she was pissed off because I almost argued with her for another time. However, it was a normal thing since she and I shared some different opinions about mate. Emma always told me about fated mate as a character that was dreamy and too good to be true. Then, I tended to consider it as a myth despite of the fact that I ever read it in some books at the public library. -**- Around ten minutes later, I was already in the car and sat next to Bastian in the front seat. His minty scent was pampering my smell. Surprisingly, I felt comforted although it was like smelling the tooth paste. At first, we just exchanged the glance. Subsequently, he said, “How is his reaction towards my invitation?” “He is jealous obviously. Even, he forbade me not to go with you at first.” I uttered the truth without any hesitation. Bastian looked stunned once I mentioned about Xavier’s jealousy. Maybe, he thought that Xavier would let me disappear easily because of Selena’s existence. Nonetheless, it was impossible to happen since Xavier was pretty selfish, especially when it was about his needs and his own thing. “It is really suck! He already has his mistress to have fun, but it seems that it is not enough for him,” He exclaimed. I just smirked and replied, “That’s how my Alpha is. He can be contradictive and impulsive at the same time.” “He is an assh*l*. I’m sorry if it sounds rude to you.” Bastian expressed his frustration as he sped up his car and passed the other vehicles around. As I listened to his words, I only stroke a tiny smile. I knew I was disappointed by Xavier’s attitude, but this time, I felt that I shouldn’t stand up for him. I might have stood up whenever somebody insulted him in the past. However, for now, it felt different for me. It seemed that I literally enjoyed him being insulted by another man whom I had just met. For about forty five minutes forward, the car Bastian drove entered the mansion area. The green grass land greeted my sight as the crate was still driven. While the crate stopped in front of the gate, a butler came and opened the car door gently. “Welcome to the mansion, Alpha Bastian,” He greeted warmheartedly. Feeling shocked with the greetings, I was speechless at first. I never imagined a man with a humble attire and attitude like Bastian was an Alpha of a pack. Yeah, I hadn’t followed any news about other packs, except my own pack. However, being picked up and saved by another Alpha was like a blessing in disguise. With the curiosity embracing myself, I stared at Bastian deeply and whispered, “Why didn’t you tell me who you truly are??” “Let’s get inside. I’ll explain a few things to you.” He invited as he smiled widely. End of pov TO BE CONTINUED..Margareth POVStepping inside the mansion, the noise of my heels tapping on the marble floor was heard as it echoed. Then, as I followed Bastian and stepped on the stairs carefully, my eyes observed the artistic details of the mansion. The first thing that caught my attention was the wolf head statue attached near the fire place on the first floor. Below the magnificent statue, the brand entitled ‘Red Iris Pack’ was engraved nicely in gold. Then, the next thing was the room I entered on the second floor. It was well-organized with a few of bookshelves on the right side. Besides that, the working table along with the leather chair was placed. Honestly, it was completely different from Xavier’s working room which was much smaller and not really fancy.“Please have a seat, Margie,” Bastian asked gently with his right hand gesturing towards the sofa.I nodded as I obeyed him. Although I really wanted to express how surprising it was to him, I kept myself composed. At the same moment, a yo
Margareth POV "Listen, Margie. You can't hang out with another man, except me, Your only Alpha!" Xavier's voice was irritating my ears as I put a death glare at him. Then, I glanced and reminded him on his affair with Selena, "Can't you please reflect on what you have done to me?? You silently hang out with your mistress while I myself just know about it recently. You are such a selfish brat. Don't you realize it?!" At the time when those words were uttered, the car he drove stopped right in front of the gate as he pulled out the brake. "I hang out with her because you never make any time with me, Margie. You keep thinking that I can stay loyal while you get busy with your own things. Nevertheless, in fact, you must reflect on yourself too!" He snapped with a higher tone. Feeling drowning in hatred, I decided to got out from the car and walked after him. "Margie! Can't you hear me out?! we are in the middle of discussion, and you can't escape like that!" He yelled as if I was
Margareth POV While inhaling and holding up the tears, I stared at him sternly. Without any words uttered, I walked to the door and got out from the room. It was not because I was scared of Xavier's threat. It was not also about stepping back from the mess. Actually, I only needed a space to think cearly since I was awfully disrespected by the people I cared the most. Then, while I reached my private room, Emma opened the mental connection and uttered, "Your mother-in-law is truly an ice-cold. I could literally see who she really is, Margie." I sighed and responded, "It was because of Xavier, Em. Previously, she was nice and warm to me." "It was the time when you were a newlywed with the sh*tty Alpha Xavier. However, all you need to do is escaping with Bastian. He is willing to help you," Emma suggested impulsively. I sat on the corn
Margareth POV By the minutes and seconds passing, another day greets my sight with cloudy sky. At this time, I stared at the window as the curtain was opened. Following with that, my feet was stepping out from the room since I planned to give hands to the maids in the kitchen. Moreover, while I passed Xavier's room, the noise of giggles and laughters stopped my steps. It was clear enough that Xavier was having fun with Selena just like a newlywed couple with the love fluorishing in their hearts. The situation I realized was totally different from mine, whenever I got the status as his wife legally. The difference I meant here was not like he treated me coldly or improperly, but I noticed that his smile didn't really describe happiness. The past memory appeared clearly in my mind as if my logic showed me the difference between Xavier's reaction to me and when he was with someone else.
Margareth POV With his dark brown suit and purple tie, Bastian stared at Xavier madly. "You really test my patience, and I have proven it, dude! I had told you to return her to my mansion, but you are just deaf as an adder." He uttered as his eyes were darted on my sudden existence. Then, I walked as I stood between Xavier and Bastian with frowning forehead, trying to take a preventive action if these guys would fight in the wolves form. "Why are you so eager to take my Luna, huh?" Xavier inquired as he stroke a mocking smile. "Because you don't deserve her! In fact, you have got a mistress, and she will be wasted with the affair you have done!" Bastian told the truth. Rising his eyebrows confidently, Xavier replied, "Still, it is none of your business. I have rights to forbid her not to go with you." Bastian with the rage in his face clenched his fist. I could really see that his muscles contrac
Bastian POV When I was talking to Margie, I was surprised once my old friend, Harper appeared. Her tall and sexy figure was recognizable, especially while the light blue sexy casual dress enveloped her body. Nevertheless, her initiative to hug me successfully made myself speechless. Ar that point, I noticed that Margie darted her eyes with the curiosities in her gaze. Afterwards, I quickly released the hug and said, "Harper, can you please wait downstairs?" "Why should I wait? you are here, so we can still talk." Harper nagged as she combed her wavy hair with her fingers gently. "I still have a guest right now. Don't you see? She looks tired after a quite long journey," I declared as she started staring at Margie reluctantly. Following with her reluctant glance, she uttered, "Don't tell me that this woman is your girlfriend-soon-to be." Realizing the meaning of the w
Meanwhile, at Brown Iris Castle, the feeling of hatred and insecurities lingered in Xavier's heart and mind. He kept walking around his working room, passing Selena sitting on the sofa with the stern expression. The coward Alpha being not able to organize the pack was literally worried if his Luna would never come back after he dealt with the bet proposed by Bastian. "D*mmit! I must not accept the bet if it involves Margie and her feelings. Now, I'm in hot water! It's also beyond my expectation. At the initial state, I just want to have fun with Selena, but it should not continue like this!" He pondered as he squeezed his spiky hair angrily. At that time, Selena stared at him and snapped, "Stop walking nonsensely like that! It will not solve the problems." Xavier then stopped walking around, and he exclaimed, "We are done, Selena! luck is not on our side!" Selena stared at him astonishingly and placated, "
Margareth POV "Margie, where are you going?" The bass voice bothered my attention as I stood on the yard, waiting for Jessie to pick me up. "I'll be going with a bestie in the coffee shop, Bas." I uttered the truth as I looked at his calm expression and the semi-formal outfit, an orange long-sleeved shirt with black pants. Right on the band of the pants, the belt with hermes logo was pasted on it. Those attires really exudes his alluring charm and friendly personality. "Wait, let me call the driver to take you there," He said while starting to pick up the cellphone from one of his pockets. Nonetheless, before he called his driver, I cut in, "No need, Bas. My friend will soon be here. She has promised to pick me up since a few
When the afternoon arrived, Margie decided to meet Jessie in the nearest cafe around Red Iris Mansion. Her sudden meeting was caused by her friend's announcement about several job vacancies she had listed. "Here are the lists of the vacancy. A few of them are from my company, while the others can be from certain companies in this pack." Jessie extended the folder where some papers were attached. Then, Margie took a look at them one by one. "They are pretty strict, especially when it comes about educational background," She commented with the bitterness in her words. She realized that she didn't have any magister degree that might support her resume. "No worries. You can also have a freelance job which is quite useful and paid." Jessie calmed her while sipping her caramel macchiato. At the same time, the waitress was serving a plate of parmigiana chicken wings and baked potato wedges with moza
Margareth POV "Ehm.." I mumbled as I still closed my eyes. At the same time, my right hand was moving around the bedside table, grabbing my phone to turn off the morning alarm. Once I did it, I gradually opened my eyes. At the point, the dizziness conquered my head. "Sshh.." I hissed as the hurt in my head existed, just like it was nagging towards me who drunk so much the previous night. "KLEK.." The sound of the opened door knob whispered to my ears. Through the door, I could notice the Alpha coming with a tray which was completed with breakfast and a glass of yellow liquid that I didn't get familiar with. "Am I waking you up?" Bastian asked as he put the tray on the bedside table. "N-No.. hsss.." I replied and hissed, enduring the pain in my head. Then, Bastian approached me and sit at the corner of the bed. "Here is the gi
Bastian POV As she complained, the strong scent of wine came out from her red plumpy lips. Therefore, I endured it while trying to make her body stay upright. "Why don't..you drink? hmm?" She uttered with lack of fluency as her left arm was still on my shoulder. With the careful steps and the balance of my body, I carried her out and said, "If I were drunk, how could I help you?" Margie chuckled and leaned on my body closer. She softly whispered to my ear, "Then, it means.. we are drunk to-gether.." I sighed and keep carrying her out. Once we reached the parking area, I put her on the front seat carefully. Without any other delays, I directly started the engine and spun the power steering, letting the car to escape from the parking area to the street which was not so crowded or even noisy. With the focus on the street, I drove carefully. Sometimes,
Margareth POV When Bastian had not replied my utterance, I was stunned by one of the old friends I knew in high school, Elsa Muller. The only reason why I was amazed was her not aging visual. She was at the same age as me, but her looks were like young adults and teenagers. "Margie! It's really you!" She gladfully said and pulled me into her embrace. I then smiled and hugged her eagerly although I was not so close to her. "How have you been?" I released the hug and asked. "I'm fine, Margie, even though I'm quite busy nowadays. With whom are you here?" Elsa responded and began to observe Bastian's existence. She then got startled and inquired in whisper, "How can you go here with the Alpha?? He is such a picky. Don't you know that?" "Well, he invites me here anyway." I stated the truth so that there would not be misunderstanding.
After the divorce trial was finished, all of the attendees were coming out from the trial room. Those two people, Xavier and Margie, walking with their own companions with contrary expressions. The tall figure walking next to Selena kept his stares at Margie, while the she-wolf herself confidently rolled her left hand on Bastian's arm. "I'll make sure she can't live peacefully! I know I already have Selena now, but the fact that Margie looks happier without me makes my blood boiled to the maximum temperature." Xavier spoke in his mind, describing that he was actually frustrated with the effect he received after his affair was discovered. In that case, Selena noticing the frowning forehead of her lover realized that he was unhappy after the divoce was finalized for real. "What's wrong, honey? Any problems bothered you around?" She dared to ask. "That's nothing. I just think of the confusing offers done by some certain
Margareth POV This Alpha really mixed his favorite things with the important jobs and position. To me, it was unnecessary because it would divert his attention from the business he did. Yet, he didn't look bothered while explaining that he might drink in the office. Moreover, his gaze showed that the Alpha was confident enough to express how stressful it was at the working place. It was normal, and he drank with his Beta. However, my mind currently was on the image when he was drunk and might kiss any woman around him. My mind was really sassy from a day ago. I didn't know why, but I could not help myself not to think about wild dirty things about Bastian. Did I start to develop a thing for him? or it was just a sudden obsession towards the Alpha because he could considered as an ideal male-wolf. Although I kept wondering to myself, I still could not conclude it clearly. It happened all of a
Margareth POV "Excuse me, Miss. Mandy. I'd like to meet the CEO. Is he busy?" I bravely approached the secretary and uttered my true purpose in the office. "Let me check after you fill this guest book." The straight hair woman with fascinating visual uttered and gave the guest book to me along with the blue pen. I nodded and filled out the data in the guest book carefully. Once I had finished, I returned it to her by saying, "Here it is." "All right, Miss. Velvela. Let me check if he has a lot on his plate." Miss Mandy fixed her glasses as she said to me. Gently, she knocked and opened the door, letting her eyes peek inside the room. From inside the room, I could hear the Alpha's heavy voice, "What's wrong?" "Miss. Velvela, your guest is outside, Mr. Alford." The secretary uttered openly. "Let her come in." I heard his voice for another ti
Margareth POV When I arrived at the training camp, the sun was still greeting at the ground. Its warmth made my cheek red, but it was not like a tomato. With the decent mood, I stood between the other participants and listened to what Beta Ashton said. "For today, we will learn to defend ourseves, as usual. Later, I would like you to form a group of two." Beta Ashton announced through his shouting. With the announcement being set, I immediately looked around, trying to find a suitable friend for the practice section. However, it was not easy because most of the she-wolves set the indifferent gaze towards me. I was sure if they still recollected the fact that I was a Luna of different pack. At that moment, another words uttered by Beta Ashton was perceived clearly, "After exercising for self defense, I'd like to teach you some new materials, and it is related to our wolves." In les
Margareth POV "TAP!" I closed the door gently with my right touched the chest. My heart was still trembling although I didn't see him, especially with his bare naked body. Then, several assumptions were running in my brain. All of them could be either good or bad, depending on the prediction I created. Firstly, I thought that the Alpha was trying to flirt with me. The causes were the unexpected kiss and he being half naked last time. Another factor was about he knew me as his fated mate. "If he intentionally flirt with me, that's insane! It's just like a hypocrite." I muttered as I flipped and squeezed my hair a bit. I never thought that someone like Bastian could be an opportunist person. Then, I walked to the bed and got onto it. Then, the second assumption I thought of was he just wanted to see my reaction towards his attitude. If so, he was really an attention seeker. However, I could not imagine if it was tr
