Lilian's POV

"Excuse you?" Alexander frowned, jerking Max's hand off his wrist.

Max had heard enough to suspect that Alexander was a bad person. Well, I couldn't say otherwise anymore.

"If you don't want any trouble, you'll step away from her right now!" Alexander growled, his eyes blazing with anger.

"Why are you so insistent on taking her away? She doesn't seem uncomfortable with me. Does she?" Max fired back, leaning down to ask softly, "Lillian, have I done anything wrong?"

"Lillian, what's all this?" Alexander asked, his gaze unreadable, yet questioning.

"Max hasn't done anything wrong. He's just being nice..." I sniffed, sighing. "He's a member of the knitting group I joined. He's...not a bad person."

Alexander's anger flared as he glared at the guards standing by the door. "One of the guards could have assisted you instead of this stranger!" He spat, his gaze cutting back to Max.

Their stares locked, neither of them backing down. I could feel the tension growing, and it worried

I trailed off, swallowing the hard lump in my throat. "Lillian, I don't understand what you're saying.""I know you understood every word. I don't want to stay married to you anymore. Let's end the contract," She insisted, her voice cold."Why are you suddenly asking this?" I asked, my heart wrenching. "Why do you want to break this off? Just this morning, you were happy to spend time with me.""That was this morning. Now, I don't even want to see you. You disgust me!" She spat, her harsh words tearing my heart apart."I...disgust you?" I gasped."Yes, you do." She asserted. "I can't keep pretending like everything is okay when it isn't. I don't want to continue this marital charade anymore." "What is that supposed to mean? Everything has been going well between us. Though we spend little time together these days, we've

Alexander's POVI stepped closer to her bed, and her eyes lingered on me with each move. She was staring at me with such intensity and shock as if I were some expensive candy."Alexander..." She gasped, sitting up. "What are you doing here?""I'm here to talk, and you better respond to whatever questions I have or you'll see the other side of me," I threatened, looking irritatedly at her."What questions do you want to ask? Is it about my presence here?" She asked, a smile etching on her lips. "Or do you want to speak with Dustin?""I thought he might be—""What did you tell Lillian?" I questioned, cutting her off. I didn't care about the nonsense she had to say. All I wanted to know was the lies she fed Lillian."Seriously?" She scoffed, lifting a brow. "I thought I was enough for him.""Well, clearly you aren't," I said casually, sitting on her bed. "If he truly loved you as he claims, he wouldn't be chasing after another woman, especially one he made you believe wasn't important to him.""So, you're trying to say that Dustin got a partnership with you, brought me to this hospital, and did everything else so he could have Lillian?" She asked, clearly in denial. Her face saddened as I nodded in agreement."Yes. He's done all of this because he's obsessed with Lillian. If you want him to stop using you, then you've got to become an obstacle in his path," I said, feigning a friendly tone.I stood from her bed, "The ball is in your court, Maureen. I snarled. "I'm not interested and never will.""You're mad at me, and I get it. I'd be angry too, but whatever happened was out of my control," Alexander whispered, his hands on my waist, rubbing me tenderly. "Out of your control?" I scoffed. "Yes." He nodded, his chin brushing against my hair. "If you'd let me explain everything, you'd understand. You'll see how complicated and uncontrollable the situation was." Uncontrollable? If he could find me in such a secluded place when I went missing, and do so much with his influence, how could he not avoid getting into a partnership with Dustin? Was he saying Dustin, whom he almost killed, coerced him into signing the deal? Or tied him up and put him at gunpoint? His words made no sense. "Lillian, please give me a chance to explain. I know this s

I was watching a video of Jessica and her mother confessing everything they had done before disappearing. That was what they had to do, so Alexander wouldn't press charges against them. They knew they had no chance against especially since, Dad, as I called him now, wouldn't be able to help them. In a few hours, she slipped out as if nothing had happened. She touched her face again and there was no pain anymore. This discovery made a smile appear on her lips. As she headed to the parking lot, she pulled out her phone to call her mother. “Hello?” Sha muttered as her mother answered. “How was it?” Her mother asked. “Ma, everything went well,” Jessica smiled, getting into her car. “Are you sure? "I don't know if you know this but Alexander really loves you. He respects you too as his mother but I don't think you love or respect anyone but yourself. You are trying to ruin his happiness with your own hands," Lillian said. "What happiness? Do you think life with someone like you is happiness? Alexander will be miserable if he gets married to you and he will regret choosing you over me," Mrs McQueen accused. Lillian leaned against the wall, suddenly realizing what the matter was all along."You are jealous. That's it, right? You don't even care about Jessica, not really. You are jealous of how much Alexander loves me and you get afraid everytime he considers my feelings before your own." Lil

"I got you," he whispered, his hot breath sending chills all over me. He started walking backwards with me attached to him, scattering kisses all over my neck. When he got to the bed, he sat on it, lifting me and placed me across his hips. He didn't break concentration, continuing to tease me while dragging the rest of the teddy down to my waist."My baby is going to have a baby," he said, drawing the leftover chocolate on my chest down to my stomach.
