Kaden ~
These girls were so fucking dumb! What on earth were they doing in this den of dangerous wolves? And now they would be sharing a room with me these wild animals. I despised these boys, in fact, everyone hated everyone in this school, but cliques and packs had to be formed for added protection from more dangerous people. Anyone without a pack here was seen as an easy target for others to use to prove themselves and instill fear on others. We were all cruel, of course I was not excluded. The clique that currently ruled the school— The Vicious boys— had dragged me and forced me to be their alpha because everyone could feel the sheer power that emanated from me the very moment I stepped into the school. They needed me on their side because they knew if I entered any other pack they would instantly be dethroned from their spot as Alphas of Alphas. I liked the violence they brought to the school, it ignited my overabundamt reserves of adrenaline and I was able to let out years of anger on unsuspecting victims… sick? Yes, I'm well aware. Now these foolish girls would be my next victims, whatever plans they had coming here would go down the drain, I would personally make sure of it. Dahlia, I tried to remember her name, her soft looking pink lips parted as she tried to come up with words. I enjoyed seeing how intimidated she was, I just wanted to ruin her innocence and eat her soul, she looked every bit like the cornered prey she was. “Hey Kaden!” Silas said as he threw a heavy hand over my shoulder pulling me closer and nudging his chin towards Dahlia who looked as though she wanted to murder us both with her glare. “He looks quite odd doesn't he?” Silas continued as he stepped towards Dahlia. “Looks like a girl,” I added and watched with keen eyes as the panic crossed her pretty doe eyes. I enjoyed it, more than I was willing to admit even to my crazy self. “Well, its obvious we are your new roommates so I guess we should get to know each other better.” It was Sienna that spoke this time. She looked identical to Dahlia but her eyes lacked innocence and hidden timidity. “I’m Caleb and this is my brother Theo,” she gestured towards Dahlia. I couldn’t help the heavy chuckle that escaped my lips. Everyone turned to look at me and I immediately straightened up. “I’m Kaden,” I said plainly. Dahlia’s eyes widened slightly and a faint thankful smile spread on her lips. How precious! She thought I was playing along with their tomfoolery. Well, all the better because it would be more satisfying when I broke the farcade and exposed them to the entire school. I wondered how two weak girls would fare in a school of vicious wolves that needed a woman to fight over, they would be ripped to shreds in no time. I couldn't wait to see how that would play out. But first, I needed to know why they were even here in the first place, what ulterior motives did they have? I had motives of my own after all. I still had to uphold my end of the bargain I made with my foster father or whatever the fuck he was called. The thought of it soured my mood instantly and the urge to rip something to shreds was immediately overwhelming. “I don't do silly introductions,” Aurelian said interrupting my train of thoughts as she stepped further into the room. He pulled off his shoes and shirt and stepped into the bathroom running his hand through his platinum hair. Orion followed shortly after, taking off his glasses before entering the bathroom. Grumpy asses. The next day came quicky and we were getting ready for football practice, these two weak girls looked so fucking ridiculous in their oversized jerseys, the shoulder pads made them appear like little trolls scurrying around the field in the midst of tall giants. “Eyes on me, not the grass, rookie!” I barked at Theo as he stumbled through a basic drill, his clumsiness made me itch to throw the ball straight at his head. He flinched, his lips pressing together, but he didn’t say a word. Smart. At least he knew better than to talk back. “Silas, ball,” I said, holding out my hand. Silas tossed it, and I spun it between my fingers, watching as Theo jogged back to the line, his shoulders tense. His brother Caleb, wasn’t much better—maybe a little faster, but still too damn clumsy. I didn’t have time for clumsiness. We ran the play again. This time, I aimed the ball straight at Theo with enough force to test if he could actually catch. His hands came up just in time to catch it, but the impact made him stumble back a few steps. “Run!” I shouted. He froze for half a second—just enough time to piss me off—then took off down the field like a deer fleeing a pack of wolves. His movements were awkward, and I could already see Orion zeroing in on him like a missile. But then Theo surprised me. He threw the ball. And for a second, I thought it was going to land in no man’s land. But it didn’t. It flew straight into my hands in a perfect spiral. I caught it effortlessly and jogged toward him, my smirk widening as I saw the mix of relief and frustration on his face. “Not bad,” I said, tossing the ball to Silas. “But next time, try not to look like you’re about to wet yourself.” He glared at me, his chest heaving, and I swear I saw a flicker of fire behind those pretty eyes. “You could’ve warned me,” he snapped. I laughed—a deep, slow sound that made him clench his fists. “And miss out on the fun of making you mad? Not a chance.” The rest of practice was a blur. Caleb and Theo kept up, barely, but it was clear they were out of their depth. The field belonged to the wolves, and they were nothing but weak sheep trying to blend in. By the time we wrapped up, everyone was drenched. “Good effort,” I said, my tone sharp enough to remind them that praise didn’t come easy from me. “Some of you—” my gaze landed on Caleb and Theo, deliberately— “still have a lot to prove. But we’ll see if you survive the week.” The guys laughed, low and mocking. I didn’t. I was— distracted, Theo’s shirt was now wet and the material clung close to his skin and I could see the mounds that were barely there on his chest, highly bound by bandages, I wondered how he could even run around the field with that. As everyone broke apart, I hung back with Theo— I could call her Dahlia now we were alone. I walked over until I was close enough to see the way her fingers tightened on her soft thighs when she realized I was behind her. “You’ve got guts, I’ll give you that,” I said, my voice low. Her head snapped up, those wide eyes locking on mine. “But you’re not fooling me, Dahlia. Whatever game you’re playing here, I’ll figure it out.” Her lips parted in shock, but no words came out as she looked around sharply to make sure nobody heard. “I’m not playing any games,” she finally said, her voice was clipped. I leaned in, close enough to see the faint sheen of sweat on her smooth creamy skin and the way the slender column of her throat bobbed as she swallowed. “Your appearance might fool everyone, but your scent isn’t, soon enough all these Alphas would loose their minds over your pheromones unless something is done about it.” She stepped away from me and her chest heaved as she took a few steadying breaths that had nothing to do with the match. “What can be done about it?” She asked with innocent curiosity. “You both need to be fucked by some alpha’s— hard,” I said and I hated the jolt of electricity that shot directly through the length of my cock at the thought of that. Her pretty mouth hung open in horror and a smirk graced my lips. “At least twice a week,” I added to aggravate her further.Dahlia ~“So what are you telling me?” Sienna asked me with one brow arched up in suspicion. “I’m not loosing my virginity to these mindless savages!”“Oh come on! Do you want to get fucking caught? Our virginities are nothing compared to what is at stake!” I whisper yelled. We were in the bathroom of our dorm room and we had to practically skip a class to have this conversation in private.“We won't get caught, Kaden is just trying to get into our pants cant you see that?” She countered. “Our scents aren't half as strong as that.”“Not yet, but soon enough it will get stronger and we won't be able to control it and by then it would be too late already.”After a pause, Sienna slid against the wall until she was fully seated on the floor with her face in her palms.“I hate my life!” she cried.“Me too, but we have to—”I was interrupted by the sound of voices in the dorm room. Were they back already? Classes weren't over until an hour at least so what the fuck were they doing here?“We
Kaden ~ “Well, not exactly fuck fuck, you could use our mouths and hands,” Dahlia said and Sienna, Obviously the more reasonable one, realized this foolishness for what it was and she stayed quiet. What could be their reason to go through such lengths? If they knew what I planned to do with their pretty bodies they wouldn't have dared propose this. But unfortunately for them, they did, and I would make sure they regretted every fucking moment. Yes, I was a hate filled bastard that yearned to make everyone around me hateful as well. I would make their lives hell.I knew what they were the moment they made mention of needing blood, Scarvyns, blood sucking witches. I was repulsed to say the least. But these goons obviously did not care about what they even were. “Fuck yeah!” Silas said with a crazed smirk on his face. “I always thought you both were smoking hot but now,” he leaned down to toy with a strand of Dahlia’s hair, “as girls, you're even better… I'm taking the first ro
Sienna ~Orion’s blood was sweeter than anything I had ever tasted in my life, my head spun as my nails sunk even deeper into his skin, tearing flesh and drawing blood.I knew I would regret doing this by morning, but I honestly couldn't care less, I was turned on beyond belief… and those deep sounds that erupted from the back of his throat were not helping matters at all.Scarvyn venom was powerful, and these alphas were no match, no matter how deadly or dangerous they were, they would become ours now, unable to harm us and bound to protect us because we were the only ones who could give them this feeling.I sank my fangs even deeper and my legs wrapped around his waist while his hands snaked down to grab my ass roughly. I could feel the hot bulge of his desire against my skin but I ignored it… I had to… or else I would lose my mind and do something I would definitely regret in the morning. His hand slid inward, nearly touching my most sacred parts—“That's enough,” that was Silas’s
Dahlia ~“I can't believe this is what our life has come to,” Sienna wailed as we headed to class.I truly did not want to be reminded of the previous night.“Can you stop wailing for once and just focus, you're not the only one going through shit,” I whispered as a group of males rushed past us, nearly knocking me over. “Hey!” I protested and the male turned back to give a wink and a middle finger to both of us.I rolled my eyes, I was getting used to their lack of morals.“We don't have to do it for like another week or so,” Sienna said. I turned to her and arched a brow in question. “Kaden said we needed to get fucked to reduce our pheromones, but he obviously overestimated it, the blowjobs were more than enough to do that, and it should be about a week from now before our pheromone levels rise again,” Sienna said. Dahlia did not like the sudden flutter of butterflies in her belly at the mention of his name. Not butterflies— roaches… she tried to convince herself.“As long as
Dahlia ~“So the first training is the Dominance and Leadership Training, as Alpha’s you need to learn how to take control of your packs. This involves learning conflict resolution, establishing authority, and commanding obedience even under pressure,” Naima explained. Then she pointed to the words projected behind her. “Next is Hunting and Tracking, you will be trained to lead packs, stalking prey, and organizing group attacks.”She kept explaining, number three was combat and self defense training, we would engage in physical training in both human and wolf forms, focusing on hand to hand combat training. How on earth were we supposed to fight in wolf forms? I let out a heavy exhale… we will cross that bridge when we get there.Number four was pack bonding, here we would participate in mock rituals under the full moon to increase the connection between pack members. We would participate in three tests after the training. Territory defense, crisis, and survival. They sounded impo
Dahlia ~The sound of movement around me dragged me from my slumber, and I groaned as Sienna stirred in the bed beside me.“Wake up,” she muttered, but her voice was thick with exhaustion. “I think we’re late.”My eyes peeled open to see that she had gotten up to make her bed. It was way too early for all this.It was barely even first light.“You mean ‘late’ as in a little late,” I said, dragging the words out, “or late as in we’re screwed?”Sienna glanced at me pointedly, her short hair wild. “Considering I just saw Aurelian and Silas walk out the door fully dressed, I’m guessing we’re screwed.”She wasn’t wrong. By the time I slid out of bed, the others were almost ready. To my right, Kaden stood near his bed, buttoning up a black shirt that fit him entirely too well. I caught glimpses of hard muscle beneath the fabric, the cursed black markings twisting over his skin glimmered as though tiny stars lived within them. And then there was Orion. He leaned against the wall as he waited
Sienna ~“Well, unfortunately, they’re our roommates,” I heard Dahlia say. Naima’s sharp eyes widened at us like we’d just confessed to treason. She sighed dramatically and pinched the bridge of her nose. “Roommates. Of course, the goddess loves to be entertained?”“There’s nothing we can do about it,” Dahlia said with a shrug like this was just another Tuesday.Naima raised a brow, lips curling in disbelief. “Have you fed on them yet?”I froze mid-breath. Dahlia, too. The air suddenly felt too thick.Naima’s gaze darted between us, her face twisting with frustration as understanding dawned. “Oh, for the love of—” She let out a string of curses so creative I was impressed. My brow also arched in confusion.“But—” I started, “in our defense, you told us to find males to feed on.”“Yes,” she hissed, waving her hand like I was missing the point. “Males. Could have been anyone, not them.”Her glare could’ve burned through steel.“You two listen to me,” she said, her tone icy and low. “Th
Dahlia ~ I searched around for Kaden for about a minute and I was starting to get irritated, why did he make me search for him? I considered approaching Naima and demanding for a partner change, but I knew the likelihood of that happening was low because everyone was already paired up— My thought processes came to a halt when I bumped into hard wall, the force knocked the air out if my lungs and sent me flying to the floor. What the—An imposing shadow covered the light of the sun and I looked up to see Kaden, his mismatched eyes glaring down at me with delight at causing me pain.He did not make a single attempt to help me as I scampered to my feet. His broad shoulders appeared stiff, and his dark hair curled at the edges, just messy enough to make him look dangerously good… as usual.“Are you just going to stand there?” I asked as I crossed my arms.He tilted his head slightly, his piercing eyes locking onto mine. “What do you want, Caleb?” His voice was low, rough, and so calm
Orion ~“My friend there thinks you're cute!” the pretty blonde haired girl before me said, fluttering her lashes at me in a way that said she was the one interested, not her friend.I was not in the mood to play, “later,” I said to her and she pouted. Since she would not leave me alone, I excused myself and strolled deeper into the woods. My mind was raging with many questions and doubts. And the Scarvyn girls were the genesis.I wasn’t an idiot. Something about them wasn’t adding up. Naima had said nothing about it and that was what unsettled me the most.Naima was secretive, but not with me. Not when it mattered. If they truly were Sienna and Dahlia, there was no way she would keep that from me. She had no reason to after all.My mother was a hybrid. Half Scarvyn, half werewolf, a rare thing even in this world of impossibilities. My father was a full blooded werewolf. When they had Naima, she’d come out pure Scarvyn, taking after our mother. Then there was me. Born a year late
Dahlia ~“You’ve got to be kidding me.”My heart slammed against my ribs and there was suddenly a crushing headache pounding against my skull. The elder’s words still rang in my ears and I struggled to make sense of them.Surely, I had to have misheard because there was no way he had just called me to join Kaden and Merikh’s marking ceremony.I turned to Roxanne, hoping and praying she’d laugh and say I was losing my mind. But her brows were raised in genuine shock. So I definitely was not imagining things.“I mean…” she started hesitantly. “I don’t know much about werewolf history, but I really didn’t think this was a thing.”I swallowed, my throat had gone dry. “It’s not. It can’t be.”But the murmurs around us said otherwise. The people here weren’t surprised. Some were even smirking… This was completely normal to them.I exhaled sharply and turned back to Roxanne, lowering my voice so only she could hear. “There’s no way in hell I’m going in there with those two monsters.”Roxanne
Kaden ~“You’re going to kill them.”Orion’s voice was flat, almost bored, but I knew him too well. Beneath the casual tone was concern, maybe even a little bit of fear.I smirked as I adjusted the heavy golden cuffs on my wrists. “You think so little of my self control.”He sat on the edge of my bed, arms crossed, watching me like I was some sort of volatile animal. Which, to be fair, wasn’t entirely incorrect.“I think you desperately need something to keep you in check,” he responded. I didn’t reply. Instead, I turned back to the mirror that spanned an entire wall of my chambers. My father had installed it years ago in some grand, extravagant show of wealth that I never understood. He’d been so obsessed with his outward appearances, with vanity, with power that gleamed and sparkled like the gold he wore.Looking perfect on the outside meanwhile his family had been in utter shambles.I hated him more for it.But the mirror stayed. And now, I stood in front of it, draped in black
Dahlia ~“Do you know how easy it is to drown in there?”A voice sarply pulled me from my deep sleep. I blinked feeling a little disoriented, my body felt weightless as I floated in the warm water and then reality kicked in, I had fallen asleep in the tub.Damn… how tired had I been?I jerked upright and water sloshed over the edge of the tub.Roxanne stood at the light pink doorway with her arms crossed against her chest. She was already dressed, and dear goddess, she looked so good. Her dress was ridiculously short, revealing her perfect legs and it had a stunning red colour that suddenly reminded me of…“Is there a reason your dress is the exact same shade of red as Orion’s hair?” I questioned her with a small teasing smile on my lips.Roxanne rolled her eyes so hard they nearly disappeared into the back of her skull. “I will actually smother you in this bath if you don’t get up right now.”I let out a laugh, “so what’s the occasion tonight?” I questioned. She widened her eyes at
Dahlia ~“Because of how desperate you seem to be,” Kaden murmured, as though his words were for my ears alone, but they managed to sound across the arena. “I will offer you help.”My heart was still working overtime from the pain of my loss, my utter failure, now he came to make things worse by calling me desperate in front of everyone. Was he trying to break me finally? My knees were still dug into the scorching sand, while my hands trembled against my lap. Suddenly, the sheer number of people in the Arena unnerved me for the first time. The ghost of my parents was probably somewhere, too, watching this utterly shameful spectacle. And Kaden, the bastard, genesis of all my troubles, was looking at me as though I was the only thing worth seeing.A slow smirk spread on his lips. “Join my court, Maeve. As my mistress.”The world stilled as his words settled on.Mistress? As in, his little whore? The word pierced through my chest like a splintered arrow, twisting itself in my ribs. Wha
Dahlia ~“The next trial commences now,” the elder announced, and there was a hushed silence in the Arena. Tension was thick as people wondered who would finally win this.I wondered how many people who were not Scarvyn’s bet on me to win, probably not much. The three remaining contestants stood at the center of the scorching sand, Merikh, Meridian, and me, Maeve. The three M’s. A cruel joke from the gods, I was sure.“In the Trial of Temptation, you will each be placed in isolation. There will be no audience to watch you. No one to guide you,” he looked at us closely. And then he continued, “To be Luna, one must know how to resist their own desires for the good of their people. If you succumb to temptation, you are disqualified. But if you break the veil…” he paused for a dramatic moment, “You will win.”What would be my temptation? I wondered to myself before the gong sounded and the environment changed. I fell into darkness and a dimly lit chamber came into focus. A table sat in
Dahlia ~“The Huntress trials are next,” the elder announced, his voice reverberated through the arena. “And there are no rules this time, you must also remember that this is a completion, here, there are no friends, only contestants.”A ripple of tension spread through the remaining contestants as though they understood something that I was finding rather hard to grasp. My spine stiffened as I caught the shift in the air, as the temperature had dropped, like something dangerous had just been unleashed.Across the sand, Merikh locked eyes with me, her gaze held an emotion that caused my stomach to tighten with caution.“Each of you has a creature assigned to you,” the elder continued. “You will not be told what it is. But you should know when you find it. If you fail to bring back the correct one, you will be disqualified. You must learn to trust your instincts.”He let that sink in before adding, “And remember… you are huntresses. But you are also prey.”I'm not prey, I tried to rem
Dahlia ~One second I was standing on the scorching sand, and the next, I was immersed in a darkness so dark and inky that it brought a wave of fear into my mind. And then there was a blinding flash and I flinched, my house art hammered in my chest as the darkness peeled away to reveal a vast maze. From where I stood it looked endless and terrifying with a ghastly mist swirling on the bottom. The sky above was an unnatural shade of gold, the air was warm and filled with tension. We were in a completely different place now, but I knew the audience still watched every single thing. The fifteen of us stood at different entry points along the maze’s outer ring. The walls of the maze were high, towering mirrors that stretched endlessly in both directions, reflecting distorted versions of us.I clenched my fists. This was supposed to be a test of intelligence, I had no idea how that would work. But it surely meant this wasn’t about brute strength, rather it was about strategy and critical
Dahlia ~“Wake up Maeve, It’s time.”I groaned as I slowly covered my face with a pillow and Sienna— no, Roxanne ripped my cozy blanket off me.“Five more minutes please,” I mumbled into my pillow.“You don’t have five minutes,” she said. “Unless you want to stumble into the arena half-naked and barefoot.”Yep, that woke me up real quick and I sat up on the bed and scratched my hair.I rubbed my face, trying to shove the memory of Kaden’s words last night into a locked box at the back of my mind, but it wasn’t cooperating. Every time I blinked, I saw him again.Fuck.“You’re thinking about him, aren’t you?”I snapped my gaze to Roxanne, who was now leaning against the bedpost. Her arms were crossed, and an annoying smirk was playing on her lips. I scowled. “Who?”She raised a brow. “Oh, I don’t know. His name starts with K and he wants to burn someone to a crisp and throw their remains into the sea… ring any bells?”I threw a pillow at her face and she dodged it easily, laughing.I f
