It has been a week since Luke, Arlo, and I moved in with Riley and Sapphire.  I am unsure what happened, but Sapphire has been distant all week.  My eyes damn near popped out of my head when I walked into the kitchen and saw her standing in the kitchen wearing those tiny little shorts and a tank top.  All that silky, lightly tanned skin was on display, and before I knew it, I was standing behind her with my hands on her hips.  The sparks flowing through my hands when I touched her made me shiver.  I smirked when I felt her shiver in my hands.  I was about to slide my hands around her perfect waist when I heard the others making their way to the kitchen.  I stepped back from her as the others walked into the kitchen.

“Will you get your head back into practice?”  Chance yells.

“Piss off!”  I yell back.

I hear Keegan laughing like the hyena he is as I skate toward Riley.  Riley had a smile on his face as I stopped beside him.  I am about to say something when our coach yells at us to get our asses in gear.

“You okay?”  Riley asks.

“Yes, I just have a lot on my mind.”  I reply.

It isn’t a total lie.  Between classes, practice, and whatever happens with Sapphire, I have had a shit ton on my mind.  I still can’t figure out what happened to cause Sapphire to distance herself from me.  I have no idea if Luke or Riley have noticed, and I don’t care.  I pull a shirt over my head and slip my feet into my flip-flops.  We exit the rink, and most guys head toward their vehicles or the house.  Luke, Riley, Arlo, and I make out way back to our house.  I smile when I see a familiar head of blue hair sitting on the couch.  I shake my head when a paper ball flies towards the tele as Sapphire lets out a few Aussie swear words.  She has picked up a lot of our slang, but I know she still gets confused when she hears a few of us talk.

“I see you have picked up the more colorful Aussie slang.”  Riley comments.

“Piss off, Riley.  I fucking hate this class.  I don’t understand any of this, and if I don’t pass this final, then I won’t pass this class.”  Sapphire states.

I sit down and look at what she is doing.  She has papers and other shit for her math class strewn all over the large table in front of the couch.  I would offer to help her, but math is not my strong suit.  Arle peeks over to see what she is doing and starts laughing.  If looks could kill, Arlo would be dead.  I watch them as Arlo tells her that he is a math genius, which is accurate, and that he will help her.  I cringe when she lets out a scream and jumps into his arms.  She lets out another squeal when some of her papers, which I am guessing are notes from her math class, fly around the table.  She lunges for them and puts them back in order.  I smile as I watch her reorganize the stack of papers and books.  Arlo tells her he will return as he heads to his room to grab something.  I lean back in the chair, and my breath catches when her sapphire blue eyes connect with mine.  I am graced with a small smile as Arlo walks back into the room.  I stand up when Arlo starts explaining something that makes no sense in my brain.

“Mum wanted me to invite you to our barbie this Sunday.  She told me to tell all of you that you had better come or else.”  I tell them.

Riley and Luke start laughing.  The guys know how my Mum is, and she isn’t joking when she says she will come here and drag them to the barbie herself.  My Mum is not someone to piss off. I shake my head as I step into my room.  I could tell that Sapphire was not sure about the invite, but I wanted no one more than her to come.  I have been telling Mum about her and would love for them to meet.

“What the hell is going on between you and Sapphire?”  Luke asks.

“Nothing, why?”  I say.

“Has she said something to the two of you?”  I ask.

“No, but she seems to keep her distance from you.  I thought that maybe the two of you had a fight.”  Riley states.

“We didn’t fight.  I have no idea why she has been somewhat avoiding me.  It started a day or two after moving in here.  I can’t think of anything I did to make her act like this.”  I tell them.

“She is the girl you were talking about when you told us at brekky that morning that you were pursuing.”  Riley comments.

“Yes, I wasn’t hiding anything from you if that is what you were wondering about.”  I reply.

I explain how something in me snapped when her gorgeous sapphire blue eyes locked with mine that night in the pub.  Riley doesn’t say anything, which I am not sure if that is a good thing or not.  We continue to eat our lunch.  We split up, heading off to our afternoon classes.  I see Karli out of the corner of my eye.  She is wrapped around one of the guys from our La Cross team.  I have heard recently that she has been hopping from bed to bed, trying to make me jealous.  I could care less about her.  If she wants to be a whore then that is her choice.  I feel sorry for the guys that fall for her shit.  I thought we had told all the guys on all the teams to avoid her after what she pulled last year.

“Hey Dylan.”  Chuck says.

“Hey, I see that one of your guys didn’t listen when we told all the guys about Karli and her bunch of whores.”  I comment.

Chuck and I look across the way to where Karli is making out with the guy.  I hear Chuck grunt.  I look at him and see he is highly irritated with the guy.  He explains that the guy just transferred to our campus. He probably gets a pass, then.  He doesn’t know how Karli is.  Chuck and the rest of the team will enlighten him about her and her followers.  I open the door to the building where my class is.

I lean against the wall in my shower.  Our practice was brutal, and our coach ran us hard.  I can feel my muscles loosen as the hot water runs down my body.  I groaned when I moved too quickly, and one of my muscles decided to remind me that it was not relaxed.  I turn the shower off when the water starts to turn cool.  Wrapping a towel around my waist, I walk into the kitchen to find Sapphire standing there.  Damn, her ass in those cut short makes my cock twitch.  I smile as she turns around to find me standing there.  Her eyes wander the lenght of my body which causes my cock to twitch again.  I pull open the fridge and watch her out of the corner of my eye.  She tries to make her escape, but I wrap an arm around her waist, pulling her against me.  I hear her breath catch as her back is pressed against my chest.

“And where are you off to, my precious jewel?”  I whisper in her ear.

“I was going to go to the gym.”  She answers.

Fuck, she smells good.  I can’t help but run the tip of my nose along her neck inhaling her intoxicating scent.  I can’t control the smirk when she tilts her head to the side, giving me more room to explore her soft skin.  She sucks in a breath when I kiss lightly just under her ear.  Her entire body melts into mine as I drop feather-light kisses down her neck.  My cock wakes up when a quiet moan escapes as I kiss the spot at the base of her neck.  My hands have made their way up and just under the edge of her shirt on her stomach.  Fuck, her skin is silky soft, begging for my hands to explore every inch of her perfect body.  She jumps out of my arms when the lock on the front clicks.  I hear Luke talking to someone, but I don’t hear another voice.  I am guessing he is on his phone.  Riley won’t be home till later.  He is off trying to convince the girl he is into that he isn’t an asshole or a player.  I watch as she quickly leaves the kitchen.

“Are you really walking around in a towel?”  Luke asks.

“Yes, I just got out of the shower.”  I tell him.

He rolls his eyes and walks to his room.  He has the other upstairs room.  Arlo took the other room downstairs.  Thankfully his room is on the other side of the house from Riley.  I am sure that Riley doesn’t want to hear Arlo and Lina fuck.  Our rooms upstairs are spread out too.  Luke’s is at the opposite end of the hall, mine is in the middle, and Sapphire’s is at the other end.  I pull on a pair of boxers, then some shorts.

“Who were you talking to?”  I ask.

“Chance and Walt want to hit some club tonight, and they wanted to know if I was interested.  They asked about you and Riley, but I told them I wasn’t sure but would ask if the two of you wanted to join.”  Luke tells me.

He tells us what club it is, and I know that Riley has mentioned it a few times.  We have been meaning to check it out.  I heard Riley’s voice as Luke talked with him.  I smirked when Riley asked if he could bring someone.  I knew Riley had been seeing someone, but he had not brought her around.  I wonder if his bringing her around now had anything to do with Sapphire.  I heard Luke laugh, telling him he could bring a friend.

“Where is Sapphire?”  I asked.

“She left while you were getting dressed.  I asked where she was going, and she told me that she was going to see Lina.”  Luke stated with a shrug.

I didn’t like that she practically ran out the door after what happened between us.  She was still acting weird, and I still couldn’t figure out why.  I have racked my brain trying to figure out what happened to cause her to act this way towards me, but for the life of me, I can’t figure out what I did or said.  I catch her looking at me, but I let her think I don’t know.  We don’t have a game this weekend, and our coach let us have this weekend off of practice.

“This place is lit.”  Riley yells.

“Where is your friend?” I ask.

“She should be here soon.  Please, for the love of god, behave yourselves.”  He begs.

He glares at us as we laugh until a woman walks up.  She is a stunning Sheila.  She is around 5’9” with shoulder-length black and pink braided hair and stunning hazel green eyes that pop against her dark chocolate skin.  Her baby pink dress has a neckline that ends at her waist showing off her ample cleavage as it ends mid-thigh.  The dress itself is just tight enough to show off her luscious curves.  She is beautiful but doesn’t hold a candle to my precious jewel.

“Guys, this is Janessya.”  Riley says.

“Welcome to the pack.”  Keegan screams.

“Thanks.”  Janessya replies.

I admit Janessya is cool to hang with.  We had been at the club for about an hour when Janessya headed off to use the dunny.  We had watched her walk away but then got lost in our conversation.  I asked Riley where she was, which caused us to start looking around.

“What are you guys looking for?”  Janessya asks.

“You, we were looking for you.  You wondered off to the dunny a while ago, and we were concerned that something happened.”  Riley tells her.

“Sorry, I ran into a friend of mine, and we talked.  I didn’t realise I was gone that long.”  Janessya explains.

She tells us about her friend, who does sound very interesting.  She tells us that she and a couple of other girls are here having a girls' night out.

“Emmy, Lina, and Sapphire are here having fun.”  Janessya states.

I whip my head around when she says Sapphire’s name.  I knew she would see Lina, but I had no idea they were coming here.  With the look on Arlo’s face, I don’t think he knew that Lina was coming here tonight, either.  We follow Janessya to where she saw them at.  My breath catches when I lay eyes on my precious jewel.  Her hair has been curled and is flowing freely down her bare back.  The shimmering silver dress drapes her body perfectly and is backless.  It stops mid-thigh.  The killer heels she has on makes her legs look fucking long, and my hands twitch to touch them.  Riley walks over to her, and I can tell she is surprised to see us.  I see the look of surprise when she sees me standing there. This night just became more interesting.

I tried to get out of attending this several times over the last week, but nothing I said convinced them that I wouldn’t be able to come. I climb out of the tub, wrapping a towel around me. I still can’t believe we ran into the guys at the club the other night. Lina had asked me to come over, and after that moment in the kitchen between Dyaln and me, I was more than happy to get the fuck out of the house. A shiver racks my body when I remember his lips on my neck and his hands on my bare skin. His touch left a trail of fire everywhere he touched. I knew something was up when I walked into Lina’s place, and our other friends were there. I was unsurprised when they forced me into a chair and did my hair and make-up. I was surprised when they did light makeup, but when Lina handed me that dress, I damn near had an anxiety attac

I look at my phone. I just got off the phone with Riley, and again he isn’t coming home for Christmas, which is only a month away. I know it has nothing to do with money since our family has a private plane, and he would use it. I haven’t seen my son since he left for college in Australia. I still don’t understand why he chose to attend college so far away from his family. Our relationship wasn’t always strained. It wasn’t until he was old enough to understand why I didn’t want that damn girl in my house. I didn’t care that she was Melyssa’s daughter. I was excited when Melyssa told me she was pregnant and even more excited when we discovered she was having a girl. I had always wanted a daughter. All my excitement went down the drain when she was born. When I saw her full head of white hair and those bright sapphire blue eyes, I knew she wasn’t mine. I knew that Melyssa had ended a relationship not long before we met again. I wasn’t mad at Melyssa because I knew she had no

These last two weeks have been trying. Lina came over and stayed with me last weekend since the guys had an away game, and I didn’t want to be alone in the house. The guys have the weekend off this weekend, but Riley and Luke have to go out of town for some class project. I am tempted to call Lina and have her stay with me again, but she and Arlo are doing something I care not to know about. She said something about the two of them and a romantic weekend. That leaves me alone in the house with Dylan. I am not sure how this is going to go. Walking to class, I notice Karli wrapped around some tall brunette guy. I haven’t seen him before, but there are numerous people here, and I haven’t been to a few spots on campus, so his classes may be on the opposite side of the campus from mine. I continue to class. “Well that was an interesting class.” Janeyssa comments. “Our professor seemed to be in a bad mood or something.” I state. “What are you doing tonight?” Janessya asks.

I couldn’t help but smirk when I walked out into the living room. I opened the door to her room, and as I suspected, I was the only person at home. I knew she would do something like this. I called Riley to let him know what happened, and he told me that he and Luke would be back today. I knew they weren’t thrilled with this trip, making it easier for them to return early. I sent Sapphire a text. I am sure she is with Janessya. I had recognized two of the assholes that were harassing the women last night. They had been the ones that started shit at my parent's house that day at their Barbie. I knew Dad had taken pictures of them. He told me he was going to show cousin Anthony their picture. I agreed with Dad when he said that they were mafia but not from ours. I told Dad I bet they were from the States, and he agreed. I knew he was meeting with Cousin Anthony and his second-in-command. I am sure they would include Carmine and Jack, his second-in-command. That’s when I re

Ok, so I didn’t think this idea through. I was waiting for Dylan to be done with practice. I grabbed my bag as I walked out the front door. Dylan texted me. He told me he had a place where we could meet. I knew their practice would be getting over soon. I should have known he would have picked a place close to the beach. The house was stunning. I thought about turning around and leaving when a pair of hands landed on my waist. I let out a scream and jumped. I tried to turn around when I heard familiar laughter. Fucking, Dylan, how dare he scare me like this. I pulled myself from his hands and spun around to face him, which was my first mistake. I felt the words I would say evaporate when I looked at his sinfully sexy face and into those steel-grey eyes locked with mine. He had showered after practice since his hair was darker than usual, and I could see a few tiny beads of water barely hanging on to its strand. My hand twitched to push those damp strands away from his st

I damn near lost it when our lips touched as we sat in my house. I decided my house was the perfect place for us to work. I knew no one would bother us there. Besides the guys and my parents, she is the only one in my house. The house had been there for a few years, but I had it completely remodeled inside and out when I bought it. It turned out how I wanted, and I swore to myself right then and there that the only woman that would step foot in that house besides the women in my family would be the woman that I would marry. It has been three days since then, and Sapphire has kept her distance from me again. That stops today! I have no idea what is running through that pretty little mind of hers, but we will be talking. Keegan and Chance told me he more or less claimed me that night at the pub. It would have been nice if he or one of the other guys had told me.
