Liam's POV

I turned only to see that it was a young lady who had slipped and fallen to the ground. Being the gentleman that I was, I stretched my hand and helped her up.

"Oh, thank you so much." She said with so much fear in her voice. She seemed to be riled up. She didn't look like someone that should be in this kind of ball. She looked too innocent to be here.

"Are you alright?" I asked her, trying to see if I could help her.

"Uhmmm…" she stuttered checking behind her with fear. I looked in the direction she was looking and noticed a disgusting young man staring at her with a frown on his face.

He was coming closer and the young girl wasted no time running to stand behind me.

"Please help me. I got lost in the crowd trying to find my brother when that guy grabbed me.

I don't know him from anywhere, please just help me." She whispered behind me.

She seemed to be really on the edge. I just whispered to her to calm down and waited for the guy to get closer to us.

Liam's POV Alice stood up as I walked to her side. I missed her for just the little time I was away with Lucas. I couldn't help but pull her close to my body, placing a peck on her cheeks. We were both affected by each other's touch. I was well aware that people were staring at us, but I don't give a fuck about them. "So what are we looking at here?" I asked her. "It's just a game of cards. I trust you. So, I'll just leave you to it." I sat at the card table, surrounded by Lucas and some of the other Dons. Alice had left the room but had made me play a game of cards. I don't why she has so much Faith in me that I could win but I loved that. I could feel the eyes of the men on me, assessing my every move. I was on guard but didn't give anything away with my expression. They all feared me because I was untouchable. They also knew better than to cross me. Thinking about it, I now understand why Alice wanted me to play with them, the silly girl loves to rile everyone. This wil

Alice's POV Lucas brought out a big box filled with all kinds of knives, and I couldn't help but marvel at the assortment. The ball had taken a rather unusual turn, and the final game of the evening was knife-throwing. The catch? The couples had to participate. The men were to stand as the target while their wives threw the knives. The women had to make sure the knife didn't touch their husband, and the game would end once all the knives in the box were used up. It was a terrifying prospect, and I watched as the guests started shivering in fear. I wasn't scared, though. I found the whole situation amusing, and I was sure Liam did too. We were Dons, after all. We were supposed to be fearless. As the game began, I watched with bated breath as the first couple took their turn. They threw the knives with such force, I was convinced they were going to kill each other. But somehow, they managed to avoid any injuries, and the game continued. Then it was the Kayles' turn. Everyone knew th

It had been a while since I saw him - Jackson, the man who was once obsessed with me.He was a member of a rival mafia family, and we had a brief relationship before he disappeared without a trace. Alice had always been a strong and confident woman, but I knew that even the strongest people had their moments of vulnerability. The next day, I noticed that Alice was more reserved than usual. I had always known he was dangerous, but I had no idea just how psychotic he truly was.As he paced back and forth in front of me, I could see the obsession in his eyes. He wanted me for his own personal gain, and he was willing to do whatever it takes to keep me under his control."You see, Alice," he said, his voice laced with a sickeningly sweet tone.
