The next week flew by. Eli was so excited his daddy had shown up for our vacation that he kept us all on our toes for the next week. It felt like we were a real family. Especially with all the ones we love surrounding us. Jana and her small family had joined us, and it felt like our world was complete. We spent the week playing games, fishing canoeing and even just sitting by the water and talking over drinks.

Today is my first day back at the shelter since Katie had been attacked and finding out that I’m pregnant. I looked at the entrance with an all-new light.
