Can I help you with anything today?"

Her mother looked up at her, surprised. "Help me? With what?"

"Anything," Jewel said. "Maybe there's something you need to get done, or someplace you want to go. I have the day off from school, so I thought I could be useful."

Her mother considered this for a moment before nodding slowly. "Actually, there is something you could help me with," she said. "I've been meaning to clean out the attic for a while now, but I haven't had the time. Would you be willing to help me with that?"

Jewel grinned. "Sure! I'll grab some gloves and a mask, and we can get started."

As they made their way up to the attic, Jewel's mother explained what they were looking for. "There are a few boxes up here that I want to sort through," she said. "Some of them have old clothes, and others have family mementos. I just haven't had the energy to go through them all."
