When it's not farming season, her mother would borrow money and get fruits that she sell in front of their house.
She had given up on searching around for a job when she couldn't find any then she got introduced to picking pockets on the day hers was stolen.
Her kid sister who was now 8 hadn't gone to any school and could barely speak English.
She has been saving for her school and now she could register her in the school near their house with the money she had gathered from picking pockets.
She knew it was a bad thing to steal people's money but she doesn't care. No one deserves mercy.
Those people killed her father and made them feed from hand to mouth, Those people refused to give her a job to help feed her family so she would never think twice before stealing their things.
"Mum, I'm taking Maya for registration today" Aurora said to her mother as they ate breakfast. Her mother's spoon dropped and she stare at her eldest daughter open-mouthed.
She doesn't understand what Aurora was talking about and as far as she knows, they could barely afford two square meals and Aurora doesn't do anything for a living except go out every morning and evening and return with food.
"What are you talking about Rora," she asked her daughter who was busy chewing on her food.
"I said I'll be taking Maya for registration today, she's 8 and has never been to school, I know we don't have money and you're about to ask me where I got money from but Mama I do little errands that fetch me little money and I've been able to save for Maya's school," she said and her mother started crying.
Maya has already ran out of their small sitting room into the room she shared with their mother to get ready for school when she heard her big sister talk about registering her in school.
She has always wanted to go to school with her fellow kids but her mother and sister have no money to register her in one so she kept quiet not wanting to disturb them about it.
Every morning, she'll sit at the shade where her mother sold her fruit to watch her fellow kids who are going to school.
Aurora had caught her several times wiping off her tears and when she asked why she was crying, Maya would tell her something flew into her eyes but Aurora wasn't a fool to believe that so she made sure she picked more pockets and saved more money to enable her to go to school.
"You are such a blessing to me Aurora, I wonder what I would have done without you in my life. I would probably be dead from hunger" Her mother said sniffing her tears back.
"It's okay Mama don't cry, I will do my best to make sure we feed and cloth in this house, we will never die of hunger as long as we are still alive and has hands" Aurora consoled then stood up to go prepare and take her sister to school.

"Rora!!" A young boy of the same age as Aurora was seen calling out to her and running towards her from the other side of the road.
She raised her head and looked forward to seeing her best friend Craig calling her name and running towards her from a distance.
She was returning from registering her sister in school and was about to cross the road when she heard Craig's voice so she decided to wait for him to get to her.
"Hey buddy" Craig smiled finally reaching her, breathing heavily. "Do you have to run all the way to here and how did you even see me from afar?" Rora asked giving him a one-sided hug.
"Even though there are 10,000 people gathered here, I will still pick you out in a split of an eye" he muttered breathing hard and she rolled her eyes at his words.
"By the way, where are you going to this early morning or are you coming back?" Craig asked staring at her.
"I went to register Maya in school," she said and his eyes shoot out in happiness. "Really? My Maya has started school? I'm so happy" he muttered excitedly and Rora smiled.
"Aren't you going to work today?" she asked and they both started walking in her direction. "I will go but in the afternoon," he said and Aurora nodded.
Craig work part-time in a coffee shop down the street and he had tried severally to help secure a job for her but nothing seemed to work out.
"There's this new bar that was opened down the street, just come to the coffee shop later in the evening and we would go check if they are taking in people," he said and she hissed not wanting to hear about work again.
"Tsk, tsk" she clicked her tongue and threw away her face. She doesn't want to talk about anything related to work or looking for work because she knew finding work in this part of the world can be very difficult for the poor.
The rich keep getting all the co-operate work and even ordinary sales work can't be gotten without having a connection.
She has been going from one company to another despite her having a first-class degree certificate, she couldn't secure an office job and not even a sales job in any shop could she get.
She has become tired of going from one shop to the other in search of a job and she had given up eventually.
"Forget it, Craig, it would still be the old story they always say, I'm not interested in it" she muttered and Craig frowned hitting her on the arm slightly.
"Okay fine just come to my workplace in the evening pretty please" he begged and she sighed. She planned on resting today though so she'll just go to his workplace and who knows if she'll pick some wallets there.
"Come on Rora you won't even spend up to an hour, just to say hello and keep me company" he kept pleading till she accepted. They parted ways when they got to a junction, Aurora bid him goodbye and walked towards their house. She got to their house and met her mother sampling her fruit on the little table in front of their house. She collected the basket of fruit from her and started setting it. "Go in and rest for a while mama, I'll stay here for you till evening," she said and her mother thanked her before going into the house to rest.Aurora finished setting the fruits and sat under the shade looking across the street to see a man sharing food to some kids. She sighed and shook her head on seeing the kids struggle to get hold of a plastic bag.She could remember the time when she used to come to areas like this with her father when he was still alive.&nbs
"Yes, how may I help you both?" a plus-size woman on huge glasses behind the counter asked peering at them from under her glasses."We came to enquire if this bar still hires workers," Craig said and the woman gave them a long stare before clearing her throat."Who among you is looking for the job?," she asked and Craig pointed at the less concerned Aurora who was busy scrutinizing the bar and looking for a target."Aurora focus" Craig tugged at her sleeve bringing her back to her senses. She blinked and stared at Craig who glare at her."Can you focus and tell her you're the one looking for the job and stop being silly" he whispered under his breath and Aurora nodded before turning to the woman and giving out one of her fake smiles.Ever since her father died, she had seized from smiling and only smiled whenever she was with her family or her best fri
The guy he was gawking at had raised his heads and stared at them when she said those words.Craig felt like running out of the bar in embarrassment. "Rora!! I'll revenge" he whispered in her face. The lady at the counter saw them and frowned. "Hey there, are you here for the job or to play with your lover?" The woman called out to Aurora who looked at Craig to see him pouting."Haaaa!!!! What kind of thing is this? First I'm trying to act cute for that guy and you interrupted me and then this lady thinks we are lovers. Damn me and you, lovers? Wtf!!!" Craig cried out in frustration."Why would she think of such a thing? A sissy like me lover to Aurora the bully? No, she must be joking" Craig whinned."Do I blame her? You look cute whinning so I think she must have thought you're my boy" Aurora laughed and turned around heading to the counter."Yeah I think s
"Uhhh?" Craig looked dumfounded. "You know how much I hate doing dishes Rora especially washing pots""I see you aren't ready yet, I'm going then" Aurora said and began walking away."No no... I will do the dishes, I will make sure the pots are sparkling Don't do this to me Rora" Craig ran after her.Aurora gave a lposided smile and winked. "Good, that's why you're my boy" she replied and Craig frowned but quickly shrugged it off.As long as she does what she promised then he could be her boy for now and do anything she wants him to do.He can't afford to lose that cute dude."I still can't believe I got a job and I'll be resuming tomorrow" Aurora muttered with a small smile."I told you, You just have to keep pushing till you get what you want" Craig said and Aurora chuckled."You just have to push till you get what
Next Day...Waking up to remember she was meant to start work today, Aurora sprang up and took her toiletries, and ran down from her room to the bathroom they use which was outside the house. She quickly took a bucket and ran to the little water wall at the back of their house and fetched water before rushing back to take her bath. She rummage through her bag which contained a few clothes that are worn out, looking for a suitable one to wear on her first day of work. After searching for a while and about to give up, she finally stumbled upon jeans that were faded a bit and a black polo that was quite bigger than her size. She dried her body and applied her body butter. It was cheap but she doesn't mind, her skin was great and she doesn't need so much to care for it.Putting on the cloth, she folded the hem of the polo and tied it,
They got into the cafeteria and Aurora ordered a burger and juice while Jenny ordered hers."Let's go sit over there" Jenny pointed to a free table and Aurora nodded following her over to the table. She settled down on the plastic chair and uncorked her mineral, taking a bite from the burger, she closed her eyes to relish the heavenly taste."Are you going to be okay with just that or would you mind joining in my pasta?" Jenny asked pointing at her plate of pasta which aroma was wafting through Aurora's nose.Pasta has been her favorite meal ever since she was a kid but she needed to save so she had long stopped buying food other than snacks and juices from outside and she's not a person who would share food with someone especially when she isn't yet familiar with the person. She looked down to the pasta which was calling on her to devour, swallo
They got to the school and Aurora sighted her sister standing with a boy who looks younger than her and smaller."Maya" she called the attention of her little sister who turned alongside the boy she was sitting with."Oh, that's your sister? She's so beautiful and the boy is my kid brother" Jenny said getting more happier.Rora's sister knows her brother and they seemed to be friends too."Ooh..." Aurora drawled waiting for the kids to get to them."Big sister" Maya squealed hugging her sister tightly as she got to her, Aurora carried her up and spun her around further increasing the girl's happy giggles.Jenny stares on, her eyes widening as she stares at her colleague. She never knew Aurora could be a playful type and she even smiled. Her smiles are so beautiful and she wonders why she acts
Aurora got to her room and banged the door before Craig could enter."Really Rora?" Craig muttered from outside the door rubbing his head where the door had hit him."Yes, go away since you are not ready to stop talking about useless things, you might as well go home and sleep or get yourself a wolf if you so badly want one" Aurora yelled going towards her bed to lay down. She was exhausted and doesn't need any more disturbances. Big Mandy had already caused her a lot of stress and right now she only needed a long deep sleep.Hours later, Aurora climbed down the stairs after sleeping for hours to see Craig still around. She shoot up her brows and walked towards him as he lay on the only couch in their sitting room operating his phone."You are still around Craig? Aren't you going to work today?" She asked sitting down on the
TWO MONTHS LATER...Aurora's mother was doing a little cleaning at the house that morning when Maya ran inside happily."Mother, I went to visit Sister Rora and the babies today. They talked to me, mother", Maya said jumping happily. Her mother held her head which was starting to get hurt from Maya's incessant imaginary chatting with the twins in Aurora's stomach."Maya, I have told you several times to stop with these talks, didn't I?", Sarah warned her daughter."Sorry, mother", Maya replied looking sad."Pretty Angel, you can tell me all about the babies. Your mother is a bit tired, okay?", Alpha Jax said as he walked into the house."Handsome Uncle! Did you promise to always listen to me?", Maya asked with a big smile."Always, Pretty Angel…always", Alpha Jax promised as they did a pinky.
Doctor Fuller drove hastily towards Mr Pete's house. Mr Pete just called him to come to his house. According to him, he had found the reason why Maya's blood was used to make the antidote work faster.Mr Fuller was so eager to know as he drove speedily, refusing to observe the traffic light. He soon got to Mr Pete's house and packed his car. Without closing the car door properly, he rushed into the house. He waited anxiously until Mr Pete's servant took him to Mr Pete's study."Tell me Mr Pete, why was her blood used?" Doctor Fuller asked immediately he stepped into the study."Can you atleast sit down first. Are you trying to cut off my neck for the answer? Take a seat and wait for my servant to get you a drink" Mr Pete said.Doctor Fuller swallowed hard. He couldn't wait for a drink, he wasn't there for a drink but for the information.
Beta Rufus sat on the bed, looking anxiously at the bathroom door. He was playing with his wife when all of a sudden, she gagged and ran over to the bathroom. He had wanted to follow her but it seemed she looked the door behind her. He heard some sounds and figured out she was throwing up."Are you sure you're okay babe?" Beta Rufus asked, hoping to hear a response."Yeah, I'm good, I'll be out soon so don't worry about me and return to the bed" Celine said from the bathroom. She had been throwing up since yesterday and she had also been feeling weak lately. She doesn't want to bother her husband so she didn't tell him.She would go to the hospital when he leaves for work. She rinsed her mouth and flushed the toilet.Straightening up, she applied toothpaste to her brush and brushed her teeth thoroughly. She finished and washed her face, picked up a towel from
Mason packed his car by the supermarket's packing lot and got down, he brushed his hair with his hands in frustration. He can't believe his mother forced him out to get her groceries for the third time that day. He was already tired and exhausted after all that errand. He walked dejectedly into the supermarket and looking through the paper in his hands, he sighed and picked up a basket and began throwing in one thing and the other till he was done."Oh and yeah, I need to get Nutella also" he muttered and walked back to get the Nutella. He had already wanted to pay before he remembered that.He would have returned back to the supermarket if he hadn't remembered the Nutella. His mother was becoming the death of him.Why wouldn't she allow him rest instead of sending him on different errands in hope of getting him out of his mood.To be honest, he had been lock
What does he mean by if he was sure it was the poison in the Alpha's body."So tell me Fuller, who is this person that got the antidote?" Mr Pete asked, his eyes were filled with curiousity."Aurora, Robert Patterson's daughter and also the future Luna to this pack. She got the antidote and saved the Alpha's alive. As I am talking to you now, alpha Jax doesn't look like someone who was poisoned. He looked very energetic" Doctor Fuller said."Robert Patterson's daughter? Hmmmm" Mr Pete lowered his face in thought."Did Robert told her daughter how to get the antidote? If he didn't then how did she knew?" He couldn't help but wonder.Mr Pete turned to Doctor Fuller, looking intently into his eyes while searching for an answer."Tell me Fuller, tell me everything that happened and
Alpha Jax was taken aback by the information Maya just gave him. He knew Aurora had saved his life with the antidote but how was Maya involved? What really happened?Doctor Fuller was about heading to his office when he remembered he forgot his keys at the room where Alpha Jax and his mate was admitted. He sighed and turned back to get his key. He got to the ward and was about opening the door when he heard a little girl's voice. He stopped on his track shocked on what the girl said.If he heard her well then she said she and her sister saved his life. But how? He recurred a little girl wasn't in the ward when they were told to come in. Or was she..."I will find out" he muttered and stood closer to the door."Maya, can you tell me exactly what happened?"Alpha Jax asked the little girl who was smiling brightly.
Alpha Jax slowly opened his eyes. He wondered if he was dead but then again, he felt the presence of his mate around him.Above all, there was this energy rushing through his veins…like a new life. He was supposed to be dead. That woman stabbed him with a dagger smeared with trinitaria poison. He was supposed to be dead because the poison had no cure. His eyes scanned the room he was in. White ceiling with walls painted white. He tried to get up and surprisingly his body felt light and...strong, like a supernatural blood flowing in his vein. Then he heard his Beta's voice or rather, whisper."You did it Aurora!"His eyes shot towards the direction of the voice. He was indeed alive. And it seems Aurora a is she? She got the cure? But how? He remembered Adrene saying there was no cure and it was true because no werewolf had been able to survive the trinitaria po
Sarah looked at her daughter once more before lifting her up so they could rush to the car.As she made way to the garage, she saw Aurora squatting down beside the car. She looked like her soul was gone."Sister Rora, let's go quickly to save your handsome brother", Maya said aloud.Aurora jolted from her thoughts at the sound of her sister's voice. She was surprised to see her mother carrying Maya."Mother…Maya…", Aurora stuttered as she looked at her mother who nodded reluctantly at her.Aurora looked at Maya gratefully."Let's go so you can have time to prepare the antidote but Aurora, promise to take care of Maya. I am entrusting her to you", Sarah said seriously. She wasn't ready for this but she had to follow her daughter's wishes.Aurora's mo
Aurora never knew it would come in handy someday but she had to go to her mother for permission. She needed her mother and sister's approval. She had no time to waste. Alpha Jax survival depends on Maya."Thank you Father. Even if you did a lot of evil things but at least your experiment would save Jax", Aurora whispered softly. She turned to Beta Rufus," I need to go and see my mother. It's urgent"."Okay, let's go. We can just go in our wolf form to make it faster", Beta Rufus suggested."That would be great but we need to gather the things I need to prepare the antidote along this bushy path. I think we should rather walk.I will start listing them so we can search for them and we can also send some of the guards too. Rufus, I am very grateful. Thank you", Aurora said."You don't need to thank me. Jax is like the brother I
