3rd pov;
There she layed still.
No one bothered to check the poor soul who had been knocked out.
Pain struck face.
She shivered on the cold surface.
Tear stained face. Droplets of water dribbled down her forehead.
Her breathing heavy and slow.
Several hours later, she gained her conscious back. Her energy had been drained out. It felt as if her limbs were dead. Her body still shaky from the panic attack she had.
Lifting herself up slowly, she sat on the floor, her head hung low. The curtain of hair falling on her face.
She blew a breath out.
Getting up slowly with the help of the bed, she went towards the bathroom. Her reflection was sad just like her.
‘No one helped me..’ her words rang in the silent atmosphere.
’No one cared..”
A sarcastic chuckle erupted from her.
‘I am definitely loved aren’t I?’ She sarcastically spoke.
Turning the tap on, she splashed some water on her face to get rid of the sweat. Her eyes bloodshot. A small red puffy nose. Her cheeks flushed. Her hair was a mess.
Existing the bathroom, she took a new pair of sweats and changed herself into it.
Her eyes than landed at the broken pieces of the vase, dried bloody spots rested on it. She stalked towards it.
Squatting down, she picked up the glass shreds, not caring if it sliced her skin.
She was already hurt.
She was already broken.
Getting back up, she left her bedroom. The house was quiet. Not a single voice was heard.
She went downstairs and saw an old lady in a kitchen. Elena went towards the garbage can and threw the shreds inside it, this act caught her attention and she turned around.
Her face was wrinkly, her orbs were a deep green color. Her grey hair tied in a bun and an apron hanging on her. She had such a sweet aura around her. She smiled at her. “Hello sweetheart, I’m Emily, the chef and caretaker.” Her voice sweet and angelic.
Elena tried to smile back but her cheeks were in pain. “I’m Elena, nice too meet you.”
“Would you like something to eat?” She asked politely.
“Um, fruits?” Elena hesitantly said, her hair covering her face. “Ofcourse love! Coming right up, just sit on the chair next to the isle and I’ll bring it.”
Elena nodded and sat on the chair thinking where everyone went.
“Ma’am, where is everyone? The house is awfully quiet.” She questioned. “First of all, don’t call me ma’am, you can call me Gran and secondly they all went out for shopping I guess except Lucifer and Elias, they’re in the gym downstairs.” She spoke as she brought the bowl of fruits infront of her.
Different types of pieces were in it. Cubes of dragon fruit, slices of tangerine, apple, banana and peach.
Elena hesitantly clasped her hair back in a pony tail. The old lady gasped. “Sweetheart, what happened to your face?”
She looked away before answering, “I fell.”
Emily looked at her in shock. She knew the little girl was lying. Her cheek had dried blood stains and pieces of glass shreds sticking in her skin. A very visible handprint rested on her face. Her bottom lip was split. She knew something was wrong.
She hurriedly went towards the cabinet to get the first-aid kit.
She placed the kit on the table and took a hold of her face as she inspected the damage.
“You’re quite hurt, you know.” Emily whispered. For some unknown reason her heart ached for the sweet girl whose was avoiding her eyes.
She started to clean her cheeks with the cotton. Taking a pair of tweezers she looked in her eyes and reassured her slowly., “this is gonna hurt a bit, so please endure it and if it’s too much just tell me stop then.”
Elena nodded weakly.
Plucking the shreds out slowly, Emily worked her way to busted lip. The girl winced at the contact of the alcohol.
Dabbling the cotton on her wounds she cleaned of the blood once again. Taking some ointment from the kit, she applied it on the bruises of her face.
After a while, Emily was done.
“Thankyou, Gran.” Elena weakly half smiled at her, the smile never reaching her eyes. But she was truly happy that someone had helped her. “Now eat and you’ll have to dress it up again since the cuts by the shreds were deep.” Elena nodded again.
She started eating, the sweetness instantly melting in her mouth. She had always loved fruits but she never had money to buy them.
She was always starved due to the caretaker she had also since everyone called her fat. But she didn’t care what people said, since it was her life and her rules.
“Grans, I need some protein shake for me and Luc.” A deep accented voice rang in the kitchen.
Her body stilled.
She suddenly went on nervous mode. Her hands became sweaty. She clutched the fork tightly within her hands. Closing her eyes, she slowed down her breathing which had escalated at the voice.
Breathe Elena, Breathe.
“Of course Elias, just sit down for a minute, I’ll bring it.” Emily said from the kitchen. Elias hummed and took a seat on the opposite side of Elena.
His eyes traveled to the girl who was frozen in her chair. His eyes landed on the handprint from the morning but what left him shocked was the droplets of blood on her other cheek which was seeping out from the cuts.
An image of Mary flashed infront of his eyes. The red crimson blood surrounding her as she layed on the ground. Her hair scattered. Her mouth agape. She was a living corpse. He didn’t wanted to get attached to anyone especially a girl. He hated the idea of his father marrying but he had no choice.
Elena looked up, her gaze rested on his face but his eyes were on the injuries on her cheek. He was in his very own world.
She inwardly flinched.
There eyes soon met and suddenly she felt more sweaty. His dark eyes had blankness lingering in them. No emotions, nothing.
She wanted to get away.
She couldn’t bear the fact that more people hated her because of who knows what.
She abruptly stood up but halted in her steps when she heard the next words from his mouth,
“What happened to your fucking face?”
3rd pov;Elena halted. He looked at her, expecting an answer. But all she could think about his blankness emotions.Something shifted within her.Without thinking the words left her mouth, “It's okay to be weak sometimes.”The darkness in his eyes was haunting and eating his soul. She never knew how a person was capable of having such eyes. Yes, she was young but she had met a lot of people but he was something else, something cold and black. The ink on his arms showed it all. His way of escape was to write and draw and the canvas? was himself.Averting his gaze he didn't bother to answer her. Elena sighed and took that as a cue to leave until his heavy voice stopped her.“Weaklings are dangerous.”She frowned at his words. She slowly stalked back to the isle and stood a few meters away.“They lose their loved ones very quickly since they cant protect them from the dangers.” Elias hissed, his deep blue eyes penetrating her soul. His eyes reflected the color of the ocean. Dark ocean w
3rd pov;Silence invaded the room. Each passing minute seemed to pour the tension in each of their hearts.Elena sat on the chair next to the brown oak desk. Fidgeting with her hands in her lap, she couldn't relax. All she could think was he heard her. Saw her weakness which she had tried to bottle up.She heard shuffling in the corner of the room, looking up her eyes trailed towards Lucifer who was busy going through his medical things.Sighing, she bit her lip. Maybe I should go. She thought to herself.Hearing the footsteps coming close to her, her head tilted upwards to see him standing infront of her with some surgical gloves on.Lucifer grabbed a chair from behind the desk and sat infront her. Looking through his supplies he took out a pair of tweezers. His orbs settled on her and she gulped. “Stay still and if it hurts just tap my thigh, okay?” She nodded weakly. His eyes captivated her. They were a beautiful color. A color that brought happiness. A color that could keep you sa
3rd pov;“Mommy, mommy! Guess what I did today!” The little girl came running towards her mother who had visited her after several months. Her eyes filled up with disappointment when she saw her mother wasn't giving her any attention but rather was on the phone like her life depended on it.The girl stood next to her. Her hands gently grabbing the piece of her velvety dress. Tilting her head upwards to her mother, she nudged her gently. “Mommy?" Her mother gave her spare glance and went back on talking to the other person on the phone.“Mommy, I.. I learned something t-today.” She hesitantly said hoping her mother would acknowledge her. She nudged her mothers leg again but was stopped by her icy glare. The little one retreated her small hand back towards her chest. Her eyes were glistening with unshed tears. Backing away, she held her head down and walked back to her personal nightmare, the room. She sat on the ruptured futon. Cotton was sticking out from sides. Her back always ached
3rd pov;Life is a beauty. The beauty in which the time stops and all you see is butterflies and rainbows. But some people have to face the harsh reality of life where you only experience pain.Elias picked Elena up and immediately dashed too the front door, Lucifer trailing behind him. Grabbing the keys he tossed them too his brother.“Be quick, Luc.” He yelled. The girl in his arms looked so fragile and dead. All he could see was the pale skin, dark circles and hollow cheeks. ”Did she ever eat?” He thought.Getting in the backseat with her still in his lap, Lucifer joined him in the drivers seat. Soon they both drifted towards their family hospital owned by them.“Bring her in conscious Elias, till we reach there.” Lucifer spoke, his knuckles turning white from the way he gripped the steering.Elias could feel his heart quicken. “Elena, Elena wakeup.” He tried to shake her but was met with silence. “Luc, she is not responding, just hurry.” He panicked.“Please wakeup.” He said once
3rd Pov;“Look, I made your favorite dish today.” The little girl giggled as she looked at her caretaker who was busy typing on his phone.“Buddy, look.” She excitedly brought the dish towards him, just below his phone. “Get the fuck away, moron.” He rasped out making her flinch. “But.. but I made it for you, since it’s my birthday.” She whispered out. “Do you really think that I would eat anything made by you? You must have poisoned it for all I know.” He seethed out.She hesitantly backed away, knowing that he was correct. She had poisoned the food.Biting her lip, she broke her gaze away from his and slowly retreated back towards the kitchen in disappointment. It was the only way she could leave this household, away from every nightmares.“Elena, stop.”She immediately turned around, seeing him a few inches away. “Did you actually poison it?” One of his eyebrows rose. “N-no.. I.. wo-wouldn’t.” She stuttered out. Beads of sweat covered her forehead.“Are you lying to me?” She shook
Elena’s Pov;You are my universe. And I wont let you feel any pain. This line is just enough to melt a frozen heart.Stirring in the bed, my eyes slowly fluttered open, a white ceiling coming in-contact with my eyes.Light snores filled up the room. Tilting my head, I saw Elias sitting on the chair, his fingers entangled were with mine.I gulped at the sudden wave of fear that flashed against my skin.My erratic heartbeat displayed on the monitor beside me which beeped loudly.Instantly Elias shot up from his seat, his eyes landing on my stiffened body. “Hey, hey baby, it’s alright, you’re okay.” His hands caressed my hair gently making me calm down.“Yes, just like that. Breathe. Slowly.” He cooed, placing a kiss on my forehead. The foreign feeling once again attacked my stomach. My body felt odd, but in a good way.My heartbeat had approached its normal speed, making me sigh in response. Parting my cracked up lips, I croaked out in a broken way, “W-Wat..er."Immediately getting up,
3rd pov;A week had passed by since Elena was admitted in the hospital. She had refused to speak to anyone regarding her scars and her life. She had lied perfectly through her teeth that she was clumsy as hell and she often got herself hurt. Cliché, isnt it?All she wanted was to drown in her sorrows. The once torment filled girl had nothing left but agony.Elias tried too make her feel comfortable but the emotions had overflowed within her, left her squirming.Even he was conflicted.Today she was gonna go back to the mansion. There was no such place as home.“Elena, are you ready?” Damien asked the girl who blankly gazed out of the window. She nodded, absentmindedly. “Lets go then.”They both strided out, towards the entrance. Elias had already left yesterday and now it was her turn waiting for time to pass by, like always. She could give a thousands reasons for it.The sky was painted in grey. The chilly breeze that flew by, left a trail of goosebumps on her exposed arms. She misse
3rd pov;Let it all out.Sadness and anguish, everything. It had been raining for hours now. The steady patter of water against the windows had been producing a continuous tap sound. It was supposed to be a full moon tonight but it felt as if the sky was pouring the sorrow out of it.Elena's eyes fluttered open. Her back ached from the crooked position she was in. Standing up with great difficulty, she finally strided towards the windows. Grabbing the knob, she yanked it open only to feel a piercing gust of harsh blowing wind mixed with droplets of water pass through her clothed body, showering her already miserable frame with a fresh deluge. Wiping the water from her eyes with a wet sleeve, she tucked a lock of her dull hair behind her ear. A small smile appearing on her face. She loved the darkness from the clouds. The refreshing smell of the mud and grass entered her nostrils leaving her intoxicated as ever. She watched the fat raindrops roll down the railing of her balcony. Placi
Elena's pov:Did I ever tell how much I hated Maths? It was one of the subjects which gave me extreme anxiety, one way or the other. The teacher had introduced me to the class, showcasing me as a piece of object and I'd gave out fake smiles after another. That had given me more anxiety, but now that had been gone and I was completely settled in the back with no one as my bench mate.I sigh for the hundredth time, before glancing back at the clock which hadn't moved an inch from the last two decades. Can't this go any faster? Is this even normal?"You look like you'll pass out at any minute," a sweet light voice muttered from behind me. "Actually, count me in. Miss Lovings is too boring."I stifled a chuckle before I turned around my seat and found the prettiest girl alive. She was tan-skinned, with perfect green eyes and freckles adorning her face and oh! she was a red-head too.Quite perfect, if I'd say."Her way of teaching maths is not up to my level and why does she look like dyin
Elena's pov:"Can't we stay here, for two more days?" Ella whined in the back of the car. And this was the first time I found her extremely annoying. It wasn't her problem but infact it mine. After what had happened three days ago, happened again. Sylvie was most of the time with the brothers and the cousins. And even her family had lunch with us and not to forget dinner as well. It was like they were some sort of close family friends by the way they laughed with each other.Even the other older ones, specially Elias, Stephan liked Sylvie's humor and this did made me jealous to some extent. The whole time, I never came out even when they asked me. I simply told off them a lie---that I'd fallen sick. And yes, I was ignoring them all, even Elias."Mum, isn't this vacation enough for ya?" Tyler mumbled from beside her.She lightly gasped. "No boy. A women needs her sun and sand from time to time."I sighed and leaned against the window, watching as the trees went by."Mom we have school,
Elena's pov:"Stop the nonsense, let's go.""Nonsense? How come? When clearly she comes everywhere Andi."I internally scoff at her comment. Averting my gaze towards her, I cock my brow. "Excuse me?"She glances at me, a snarl immediately forms on her face. How come a child at her age could endure such hatred for some stranger, except me ofcourse."You're following us." She stated, while pointing her finger at me.Her brother Andrius, looked at her before looking back at me. Apparently he seemed quite uninterested in her sister's tantrum.I cross my arms over my chest defensively. "And why would I?"Her eyes cinched, as her stare scans me from head to toe with disgust. "A maid isn't welcomed here." She tried to be noble with her words however she failed.I could feel she was mocking me for entering a VVIP area. But then her eyes lit up in surprise. "You're here to clean? Don't tell me you spilled coffee on someone else too?"My brows further heightened, quite amused honestly.Andrius'
Elena's pov;"Where were you young lady?"I cheekily smiled. "Outside.""From the past 3 and half hours?" Elias questioned.I shrug and fidget with my fingers from behind. If he knew about the incident, he'll surely be angry.Angry Elias is scary. "I came like you wanted me too, soooo, can't you forgive me?" I pout, as I gave him the best puppy eyes I could muster. He sighs and shakes his head. "I was worried, Elena.""Sorry." I muttered lowly, looking down.He was kinda right though. I took quite a time. But it wasn't my fault, I had bumped into someone so wealthy, who could have squished me with his bare hands and to put a cherry on top, I didn't have money. Even if I'd asked Elias, he would ask several questions and this would eventually lead me to tell him the truth which I didn't want. His hand flew to my head whilst giving me a sad smile. "Promise, you'll tell me beforehand if anything happens, okay?"I nod. "Ofcourse, Eli.""Great. Now let's get you some snacks? And then we'll
Elena's pov;"Uh, I'm totally fine."Her hand flew up, silencing me. "You've got to get this treated. Otherwise, this might get infected."I shake my head, in a no. But instead listening to me, she grabbed my wrist softly and added, "it must have hurt, yes?""No, it doesn't." My spine straightened. "I have to leave, my brothers will be worried."The word, 'brother' brought a sour taste, however I didn't let it bother me, not even to the slightest. She took a quick glance at my face, before tugging me back into the penthouse. I inwardly let out a groan. This women has no idea, how'll her family will react. She walked taking the lead and I let her pull me to the living area, where I could hear distant laughs and shouts. My head lowered. For some reason, the shiny floor was perfect to look at."Mama?" She halted and I followed her actions. Each pair of eye stopped at us---specifically me. "Didn't she go? Why would you bring her back?" This time her husband spoke with authority. His words
Elena's pov;I wasn't a bright child but I knew better to obey or act nicely with a stranger I hardly met.The truth is, I didn't knew why I insisted on repaying him---he could be serial killer or kidnapper for all I know. But...something within my gut told me to follow him. And for me my gut feeling was always right. But as they say, 'intuitions can be unpredictable.' So you never know where you'll land.Half an hour had probably passed since he'd left me here by myself. I had heard loud chatters from the second floor. Laughters and giggles, followed by playful yellings.I shifted towards the wall, attempting to relief the numbness that had spread all over my feet. Both of them ached however I suppressed it.I inhaled a deep breath and wrapped my arms around myself, instantly regretting when the scattered scalds rubbed against the shirt. Hissing, I lifted my arms to see the damage on the upper side of my hand, again. For me something about examining my injuries was like digging a hid
Elena's pov;The lunch was boring. The family had chatted with each other whilst I stayed quiet through the whole time, just hoping for the time to pass by. Stephan momentarily gazed at me for few times but I ignored the usual. Now, finally I was in my assigned room, alone. Away from everyone. The younger ones were busy playing something in the game room of the hotel however the older ones were already gone to their rooms, to rest. Elias did ask me, but I'd clearly denied.I leaned against the metal. The cool air slapped my face but I honestly didn't care. It was refreshing and calming as ever. Something about being alone with your thoughts brought a sense of superiority because I knew I would fight them off like a soldier in a war. But on the other hand, the memories painted me in the color red. The type of red which couldn't be washed away no matter how much you tried to get rid of it.Life is just venomous. One second it gives you happiness and excitement while the other second it
Elena's pov;"This is not necessary."I looked at him with blankness and sighed. Stephan had uttered this sentence for the fiftieth time, almost giving me an ache in my head. "Can you be quiet for a freaking second?!" I silenced him and grabbed the aid-kit from the nearest shelf. He cocked an eyebrow, clearly hating the fact I was talking back to him."Watch it, Elena." He tsked and took a seat on the bed and placed a fluffy pillow on his lap, making himself comfortable as ever."Are we here for a bed time movie?" He vaguely asked.I marched towards him and took a seat beside him. "What do you think?" I mocked back and took out an ointment from the mid section."You're acting like I can't handle this little childish bruise."I opened the cap and squirted some of the light beige thickness on my finger. "And you're acting like a ten year old child right now who can't stop his blabbering." He pursed his lips in a thin a line but his resting gaze on my face was sharp and alarming.Bringin
Elena's pov;The summer breeze flew with pressure, leaving a tingly sensation on my bare neck."Sunscreen?" Ella asked. Her own hands filled up with an ample amount of cream which she vigorously applied on her naked arms and legs.I shook my head and got up, muttering. "I'll be back. Just going for a quick stroll." Without hearing Ryder's reply, I went further away from the happy family. To me, it felt like a huge sin when I sat with them. They looked peaceful with each other and to be honest, I didn't won't another argument to rise because of me.My trails of thoughts died down as I neared the ocean.A small smile grazed my face. The wind harshly collided with my body, making me feel the emotions I longed for, since young. The lapping majestic aqua waves came crashing onto my naked feet, wetting my dress in the process. My whole soul was hypnotized by the powerful emerging tides. It was beautiful, alluring and calming at the same time.Gripping my dress, I lifted it up till my mid fo
