Ibukun placed her hand on her palm as she glanced towards where Fikayo and Aaron were seating and talking about their experiment. Ibukun chuckled as she turned to Blessing.
“He’s surviving, I didn’t think he could survive for this long” Ibukun said and Blessing burst into laughter.
“He really is” Blessing said as she yawned. Her eyes caught the bracelet on Ibukun’s hands and her eyes lit up in surprise.
“Ibukun where did you get this bracelet from?” Blessing asked and Ibukun glanced at her hands and smiled.
“Someone gave it to me” Ibukun replied and Blessing smiled.
“It’s pretty and looks good on you” Blessing said and Ibukun smiled and nodded.
“Thank you”
“Do you have to say everything with a smile?” Fikayo asked and Aaron chuckled.
“Why can’t I smile while talking?” Aaron asked and Fikayo scoffed.
“Why must you smile? It’s not as if you won a lottery” Fikayo replied and Aaron chuckled.
“I did win a lottery” Aar
Fikayo froze at Aaron’s reply as she swallowed her saliva “So what do you think are my qualities?” Fikayo asked.“While everyone thinks you are sassy, rude, annoying and blab la blab; I like to think that you are someone like me. Someone who has or always hold a different opinion from other people. Instead of saying sassy or rude, I’ll like to go for bold, you are bold while saying what you want, what you think as well. You don’t also care whatever anyone says or thinks either, you are just you. although you might be bossy at times” Aaron replied with a smile.“The only difference between both of us is that, you are outspoken and sometimes likes to force her opinion on other people which is kinda impossible because not everyone thinks the same way you do and even if you explain while some will see your line of thinking, some wouldn’t still understand” Aaron added as he chuckled.“What I like the most about you is that; you are just you, you don’t hide who you are a
The trio turned to Aaron who shrugged at them before turning to Fikayo.“Point of correction; I’m not in the wrong here” Fikayo said.“You are. She did tell you to stop it, you just didn’t stop, you added insults” Aaron replied as he rubbed his forehead.“Besides, no one calls their best friend stupid when they are serious” Aaron said as Fikayo frowned and shot up to her feet.“Are you seriously also on her side too? I just said I was joking, why are all of you taking it serious? Why are you ganging up against me?” Fikayo asked her eyes turned misty.“Fi……” Aaron didn’t get to talk before Fikayo ran out of the classroom. Aaron stood up as he sighed.“This is what she always does. Now we have to go and look for her and start begging her even when she’s the one at fault. We’ll apologise and she won’t apologise. What’s her problem exactly? I am tired of her. Who does she think she is anyways?” Blessing asked angrily.“I’m so thankful we are all
“You are still supporting them!” Fikayo snapped as she pushed Aaron away.“I hate you!” Fikayo yelled as tears ran down her cheeks faster.“Didn’t you say you don’t talk unless someone asks for your opinion? No one needs your opinion right now! I don’t” Fikayo yelled as she turned around and started walking away. Aaron sighed as he ran after her and grabbed her before turning her towards him.“I also talk when a friend needs it” Aaron said slowly and Fikayo gulped feeling stupid. Why was she crying anyways? Over a boy she didn’t even like. There were only few times that she cried and Aaron just had to see her while she cried.“They and she is your best friend, that wasn’t the right way to treat her and you know it. You might have been joking for real but she told you to stop it; you should have stopped then Fikayo” Aaron said slowly as Fikayo dropped her head.“They are the only people who have accepted you for who you are, they are only ones who
Tolu stood in the line as she wiped the sweat off her forehead. As DUL wasn’t like every other university, registration started after the first tests. So on the first day of the month, the month of November that was supposed to be a chill day for fresher’s, they were all lining up in front of the school administrative office trying to complete their registrations.Tolu rolled her eyes after she checked her wristwatch. It was already past 12pm and the line had not moved an inch for over an hour. A lot of students were entering with people they knew and getting things done.Tolu hissed as she had long realized that her mom great connections didn’t extend into DUL. She slowly rubbed her stomach as she checked her wristwatch again. She was scared of leaving her line in case by the time she came back; her space would have been taken and in fact, others might claim that she wasn’t here before.A likewise incidence had happened few hours earlier where the girl had rushed
Tolu turned to Demola in reply at his reply.“We are going to your apartment?” Tolu asked and Demola nodded.“You have a problem?” Demola asked as he glanced at her a playful smile on his lips.“You are just going to cook for me, that’s all. Or are you thinking about something else?” Demola asked and burst into laughter as Tolu turned bright red.“I wasn’t thinking about anything. You are the one who has a dirty mind!” Tolu snapped at Demola who burst into another round of laughter. Tolu tried to keep her beating heart steady as Demola drove into a compound with rows of apartments.“You live here? This is so cool” Tolu said as Demola parked.“How much did you pay of this apartment?” Tolu asked and Demola chuckled.“Didn’t you see the banner above it?” Demola asked and Tolu turned to him.“What banner?” Tolu asked as Demola shook his head.“These apartments are for members for the DULSU” Demola replied and Tolu’s eyes widened.
Ibukun smiled as she pressed the phone closer to her ear “I kinda had a fight with Fikayo today” Ibukun said slowly.“Friends fight all the time, but why do you sound like that?” Lashe asked and Ibukun chuckled.“As I told you, Fikayo is very different somehow I and Blessing ended up pinching her sore spot but we are good now but I can’t believe I got scolded” Ibukun replied as she laughed.“Everyone gets scolded, you are sounding like you were disgraced” Lashe said and Ibukun burst into laughter.“Somehow. There’s this guy in my class who doesn’t talk. Everyone says he’s even shy to meet someone else’s eyes but he scolded both I and Blessing today and he was so coooollllll” Ibukun said and Lashe burst into laughter.“Really?” Lashe asked and Ibukun nodded even when she knew Lashe couldn’t see her.“He was really cool but he poked at my heart really bad. I felt so awful” Ibukun replied and Lashe sighed.“My grandma used to say that people wh
Ibukun pursed her lips as she hitched closer to Blessing and Fikayo.“Guys, I want to ask you guys something” Ibukun said as Blessing turned to her.“What is it?” Fikayo asked.“It’s about Lashe” Ibukun said and Blessing laughed.“Come to think of it. You don’t hype and talk about him like before. You don’t like him again?” Blessing asked laughing and Ibukun slapped her hand playfully. She unfortunately couldn’t tell Blessing and Fikayo that he was still on the phone with Lashe the night before. That they were good friends and that he always sneaked out to see her. That she liked him and had feelings for her. Ibukun wondered what their reaction would be like when they found out these facts.“Says who?” Ibukun asked and burst into laughter.“If on his next fan talk, I ask him about his parents; do you think he will answer me? You know there’s nothing on the internet on his parents right?” Ibukun asked and Fikayo scoffed.“You are
Ibukun fumbled with her phone after loading credit on her phone and just as she wanted to dial Lashe’s number, his number came in startling Ibukun who picked the call immediately.“Hey” Ibukun said softly.“If you want to see how the beach looks like at night, meet me at the beach near Ikeja in ten minutes” Lashe replied and hung up.Ibukun blinked her eyes rapidly as she brought her phone away from her ears. She suddenly grabbed her sneakers and rushed down the stairs. Tosinmile was watching the TV in the seating room and sat up startled seeing Ibukun run down the stairs.“Where are you going?” Tosinmile asked.“I’ll be back” Ibukun replied as she tried to adjust her trousers.“Do you know the time now? It’s almost 8pm!” Tosinmile exclaimed and Ibukun glanced at the all clock in the seating room.“Cover up for me” Ibukun replied as she bolted out of the house.“Ya! What am I supposed to say?” Tosinmile yelled after her but Ibukun was
Fikayo swallowed her saliva as the body guards led them to a room. Ibukun instantly walked towards her friends and wore an apologetic smile.“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you guys” Ibukun said slowly as Lashe walked up to them.“Hello, you are Fikayo and you are Blessing right?” Lashe asked as Fikayo looked at him in surprise.“You know us?” Fikayo asked in shock and Lashe laughed.“Don’t you think it’s weird if I don’t know my girlfriend’s friends?” Lashe asked and Blessing chuckled.“It’s really hard to believe this” Blessing said and Ibukun smiled.“I’m sorry ehn. Have you forgiven me?” Ibukun asked as Fikayo sighed.“It all makes sense now. How you were unresponsive when your idol got a girlfriend. Your mood when his grandma was ill and died. It all makes sense now” Fikayo said as she turned to Lashe.“Welcome to the geng Lashe” Fikayo said as she punched his shoulder playfully while Blessing and Ibukun looked at her in surprise.
Ibukun felt her phone vibrate in her pockets and she quickly brought it out. She stood up and walked away from the girls as she picked the call.“Hello babe” Lashe’s voice drifted through the phone to Ibukun’s ears and Ibukun felt herself getting chilled as his all of a sudden sensual voice.“Hey” Ibukun said softly.“You reached already?” Lashe asked and Ibukun could hear him shuffling around and the background voices of the staff that took of him whenever he had concerts.“Yup. Already seated, Fikayo and Blessing is with me” Ibukun replied as she heard the makeup artist voice telling Lashe to adjust his head.“Okay. The concert will start soon” Lashe said and Ibukun nodded.“See you on the stage” Ibukun said with a short laugh.“Roger that milady. I love you” Lashe replied.“I love you too” Ibukun said as she hung up the phone and walked back to her seat and sat down.“Was that your boyfriend?” Blessing asked and Ibukun nodded
Ibukun adjusted her hold on her school bag handle as she walked alongside her two friends as Fikayo started talking.“I think Lashe has juju” Fikayo said and Ibukun turned to her as she burst into laughter.“Juju? Fikayo you are crazy” Ibukun said and Blessing burst into laughter.“Why?” Blessing asked.“How did he know that we were finishing his exam today and arranged his concert to be today?” Fikayo asked and Ibukun scoffed.“Didn’t you know that DUL finished their exams the day before yesterday? Girl you are seriously over thinking” Ibukun replied as Fikayo pursed her lips.“Fikayo said Lashe is using juju o” Blessing teased a she and Ibukun burst into laughter.“Better stop laughing if I give you your eulogy” Fikayo threatened as they entered the bus.“Give me let me hear you when it’s not as if I don’t I know your own” Blessing replied as she sat down.“Juju girl” Blessing said and Ibukun burst into laughter. Seeing her fie
Lashe walked out of the courthouse as the massive crowd started cheering and shouting. Lashe couldn’t hold back the smile spreading across his face. He looked towards the massive ground as with the help of his bodyguards he was able to climb a slightly higher place to talk to his fans.He waved at them with a smile and their yelling’s went a ton higher while Lashe laughed and smiled. They soon quietened down and Lashe looked around squinting his eyes.“I was looking around hoping that I would be able to remember every face that is here” Lashe said slowly and softly.“Thank you everyone. There is no way I can describe how I am feeling. Seeing you guys here makes me feel so sweet on the inside and trust me when I say this feeling is totally alien to me. I’ve never felt like this before. I want to say a big thank you to you guys, everyone here, everyone watching from home, everyone who can’t watch from home but still supported me, I can’t help but feel at home around

Lashe took a deep breath as he sat in front of his computer. It was his usual live meeting with his fans. He had skipped it for two months, so the fans were swarming on his Instagram page and immediately Lashe started the live video, the fans started commenting and Lashe wore a small smile.“Hello everyone” Lashe greeted as he waved his hands with a smile.“Yeah, I can see all your greetings. I hope you all are doing well” Lashe added as he read the comments.“I wanted to say thank you for everyone who came to bid my grandma goodbye. I felt all your love from afar. I’m glad you were all there to watch her lay to rest” Lashe said as he wore a small smile. Reading the fan comments as they told him not to be sad.“Now I have a problem but before I tell you my problem, you have to listen to this short story. Would you guys listen?” Lashe asked as he pursed his lips.“My name is Adedeji Toluwalashe and I don’t know if my surname rings a bell to anymore. Mayb
“I just heard about on the internet and that was why I sped up my visa and all. I was coming home already so I just hurried it. I was still shocked when I landed. I was so shocked and had to hurry to pay my respects to her. I didn’t believe it” Uncle Deolu said as he dropped his head.“I visited her grave before I came though. There were lots of flowers there” he added and he turned to Lashe with a frown.“When did all these happen? How come you couldn’t contact me? I watched all your concerts and heard your songs while I was Canada. I tried to contact you but all to no avail. There were many times I sent messages to your fan mail but I received no reply. I figured out that you were doing fine” Uncle Deolu said and Lashe sighed.“I didn’t know how to. My manager manages my fan mail, he must have thought it was spam or something” Lashe replied and Uncle Deolu smiled and nodded.“I’m glad you are okay” Uncle Deolu said as he turned to Ibukun’s mom.
It wasn’t until later that Ibukun had discovered that the documents were the documents that clearly stated that Lashe’s parents owned the properties that all his Uncles had snatched. Apparently, they had made fake documents. Her mom took the matter up immediately and sued the uncles to court immediately. She got her whole legal team working on it and Ibukun knew her mom; forget about the fact that Lashe was her daughter’s boyfriend, she was his fan and injustices like that, she hated it. She was definitely going to win the case, that Ibukun was sure of.She sighed as she closed her Physics textbook. Her mock exams were starting the next week and she had barely started reading due to the stress that had plagued the previous weeks. There was a knock on her room door and Ibukun turned and the door opened to reveal Lashe. He was wearing black suit trousers and a top with jean jacket. He wore a small smile as he walked towards Ibukun who had shot up from her seat
“There are sleeping pills inside” Tosinmile said and I looked at her in surprise as she nodded as we both turned to Lashe.“He needs to rest” Tosinmile said as my eyes went soft. I placed Lashe’s head on my laps and adjusted him in a sleeping position. Slowly cradling him and patting him to sleep was what I did for about three days straight.I wasn’t surprised at the massive turnout at the burial. A lot of teenagers were there and they were all shocked to see their always smiling idol looking as if his soul had left him and which there were times I almost thought it did.Lashe was the only family member she had left and Ibukun’s parents took care of everything. Ibukun had a black hat covering her head a black nose mask covering her face as she walked towards the grave and collected the spade. She carried sand and poured it on the hole.Tolu squeezed her hands reassuringly and Ibukun nodded while she sighed softly. She gripped Lashe’s hands tight while the oth
