2024-10-29 19:42:56Ibukun fumbled with her phone after loading credit on her phone and just as she wanted to dial Lashe’s number, his number came in startling Ibukun who picked the call immediately.
“Hey” Ibukun said softly.
“If you want to see how the beach looks like at night, meet me at the beach near Ikeja in ten minutes” Lashe replied and hung up.
Ibukun blinked her eyes rapidly as she brought her phone away from her ears. She suddenly grabbed her sneakers and rushed down the stairs. Tosinmile was watching the TV in the seating room and sat up startled seeing Ibukun run down the stairs.
“Where are you going?” Tosinmile asked.
“I’ll be back” Ibukun replied as she tried to adjust her trousers.
“Do you know the time now? It’s almost 8pm!” Tosinmile exclaimed and Ibukun glanced at the all clock in the seating room.

Lashe pursed his lips as Ibukun broke into sobs. She suddenly hugged him and continued crying as she held him tight.“How…...How…...How…...How…...” Ibukun found it hard to even make a statement. Her heart was aching for him really badly. She wondered how Lashe, a five-year-old was able to live and survive such an experience. How was he able to smile again? Ibukun and Lashe held hands as they waited by the side of the road. Lashe was holding her hands tightly with his second hand in his pocket as he looked around for taxis.“Since when have you liked me?” Ibukun asked and Lashe turned to her as he threw his head backwards as if thinking.“I’m not sure” Lashe replied as he slowly squeezed her hand.“What about you?” Lashe asked and Ibukun wore a big smile as she stared at him.“It’s been a while. Lashe walked out of the courthouse as the massive crowd started cheering and shouting. Lashe couldn’t hold back the smile spreading across his face. He looked towards the massive ground as with the help of his bodyguards he was able to climb a slightly higher place to talk to his fans.He waved at them with a smile and their yelling’s went a ton higher while Lashe laughed and smiled. They soon quietened down and Lashe looked around squinting his eyes.“I was looking around hoping that I would be able to remember every face that is here” Lashe said slowly and softly.“Thank you everyone. Everyone was liv, angry and the social media turned upside down after Lashe’s video. Everyone was posting and soon found AAA’s companies official handles. They bombarded their message boards and soon on Ibukun’s lead; JusticeforLashe was trending on social media and the internet.Everyone was touched by the story and a lot of people had cried while Lashe had told his story. More elderly people had gone to vent their anger angrily on social media. Teens and young adults started making videos expressing their anger at his uncles and in summary, everywhere was on fire. Nigerian celebrities started making posts asking the Supreme court of Nigeria to handle the case and get justice for Lashe.It went more haywire when the United States of America intervened and demanded that the Supreme Court of Nigeria take control of the situation. She got her whole legal team working on it and Ibukun knew her mom; forget about the fact that Lashe was her daughter’s boyfriend, she was his fan and injustices like that, she hated it. She was definitely going to win the case, that Ibukun was sure of.She sighed as she closed her Physics textbook. Her mock exams were starting the next week and she had barely started reading due to the stress that had plagued the previous weeks.
