Chapter 83

ALEXANDER POV

I walked towards the conference room walking side by side with One, I felt uneasy about what had just happened. My mind was racing, trying to figure out what could have been making that noise in the trunk of my car. I had hoped to check it before meeting with the investors, but the welcome party they had set up for me didn't allow for that.

As we entered the conference room, I leaned towards One and whispered, "Don't speak unless spoken to. Don't answer any questions."

She looked at me, her eyes reflecting both fear and uncertainty and maybe happiness, "I understand," she whispered back, her voice barely audible.

I was irritated by her response. She knew the seriousness of the situation and yet she still had the audacity to speak. But I didn't say anything. I just looked at her with a stern expression, hoping she would understand the gravity of the situation.
