Chapter 139

Back at Grey’s house, One was in her room, pondering on how miserable her life was and how there didn’t seem to be a way out of it.

At first, when she started loving Alexander, she had thought that it was fate. She started having vivid imaginations of them ending up together and all of that gave her a sort of hope which she never knew existed.

But then, in a split second, all of that went down the drain, as though it never existed.

A slight knock on her door startled her and to her greatest surprise, she found Grey, standing by the door with a massive frown on his face.

Her heart dropped that minute, but she wore a straight face as though she weren’t moved or concerned with his appearance.

“What are you doing here?” She asked sternly, peering piercingly into his eyeballs.

Grey clicked his teeth and walked into the room, with his hands folded to his chest. He gazed at One intently, after which he walked closer to her, with a dead glare on his face.
