No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t stop thinking about what my mom had told me earlier this morning. We were getting ready to go out but as I fixed myself and did my makeup, each word kept re-echoing in my head. “If I wouldn’t be able to expose him, then I would kill him.” Those were her exact last words in our discussion and I wondered how that was even possible since he was in the custody of the police at the moment.

I doubted I was going to wait till night before completing this conversation with her, Drew would be back already by then and I don’t want him seeing me a fowl mood nor did I want my feelings to ruin the beautiful time we would have together.

I strolled out of my room to my mom’s and knocked softly on the door, “It’s me mom” I said and waited for her response.

There was no response from her after few seconds so I turned the knob and luckily the door wasn’t locked, I walked in and looked around but she was no where to be seen in the room. I decided to go downsta

“Catherine, hurry up!” I shouted as I made my way to the car. I didn’t know how to drive yet so Theresa was driving us all the shopping mall, Drew’s driver Peter was out of town to go see his family. Drew lives a very simple life despite how wealthy he was, the only home staff he had were the security that guarded the estate and his driver who works for him occasionally. He hired Theresa to be his home keeper not because he needed one, but because he didn’t want the house being empty since he didn’t leave here initially. The hospital he owns, he still visits as a guest or patient and I still wondered what other things he owned that I know nothing about. Catherine rushed out of the house, shutting the door behind her and getting into the car. We headed straight to the mall, stopping first at the restaurant. I ordered for two boxes of margarita pizza and a cup of ice cream for each of us, after eating, we decided to kick off with our shopping. We started first with clothes, shoes a

“It’s past 9am already Alexa, Remember you have an appointment with the doctor.” I heard my mom’s voice followed by a shrieking noise like the sound of a glass hitting the floor and shattering into pieces. I sprang up from bed immediately and looked around, it was my phone. I had pushed it to the ground accidentally while stretching my arms and now the whole surface is broken. “Shit!” I gasped dropping it back on the night stand. “What was that baby?” My mom asked me “I dropped my phone, it’s broken.” I answered her sleepily. “Oh sorry about that honey, is there still a way to fix it up?” She asked with concern. “No I don’t think so. It’s broken beyond repair, I’ll just get another one.” I told her and got off the bed lazily. “I brought you breakfast honey, you should eat and get ready.” She said and made to leave the room. “Where’s Drew?” I asked her because I didn’t quite remember telling her I was going anywhere today, I wondered how she got to know. “Oh he’s downstairs wor

The ride back home was quiet as we both thought of the best way to narrate everything to Nicholas, I fell asleep soon and didn’t realize when we got home. “Hey princess, we are home.” Drew said shaking me slightly as he opened my side of the door. I sprang awake and got down the car immediately walking into the house with my purse in hand. “Zach, Uncle Nich is here!” Catherine shouted from the living room and Zach dashed out of his room, rushing outside. I was taken aback because I had no idea they knew Nicholas as well. “Welcome, how did it go?” Catherine asked coming to sit beside me on the couch. “Very well.” I replied“You seemed tired, I’ll help you with your shoes.” She said and bent down to the floor taking off my shoes. She slowly started to rub my feet with her thumb while humming a song. “Thanks.” I told her when she was done and headed to the kitchen, Drew and Nicholas were still outside probably discussing. The dining table was already set with several dishes and d

Drew informed me that the delivery agent for my phone was close by as he had just gotten off the phone with the security officers, I rushed downstairs to the living room to wait for when the door bell would ring. “Wait in here while I go out to get it.” Drew instructed me as he trailed behind me. “Alright.” I replied and sat back on the couch while he walked outside the door alone. The delivery agent was supposed to have been here an hour ago but he had called Drew earlier to inform him that there was a mistake and he picked the wrong package instead of my phone. “Here you go.” Drew said as he walked back inside the house few minutes later with the package, I took the bag from him excitedly and we both headed upstairs. I carefully did the unboxing and it turned out that not only did Nicholas got me a new phone, he also ordered for a smart watch and an iPad. “Wow! This is so cute.” I said out loud showing the stuffs to Drew who just gave me a thumbs up and went back to what he w

The next day was Sunday and unlike the other days, I woke up quite early. I walked to the bathroom, brushed up my hair, tied it in a high bun and brushed my teeth. Drew was still sleeping when I got out of the bathroom and since I literally had nothing to do, I picked up the diary where we had written baby names and began to go through it. For some reasons, I felt nervous again that we were having twins. Few minutes into looking at the names and writing more names on the list, I remembered Drew had asked me to read his diary and start off my day with it. I rushed to the dresser immediately to get the diary, smiling hard in anticipation of whatever was inside of it. It was titled “in my feelings”, I walked back to the bed, taking a seat before I opened the first page. I took a deep breath and began to read. “She’s only thirteen and also my step sister, what am I supposed to do with this weird feelings growing inside of me?” I read the first lines and turned around to look at Drew wh

“Hey baby, do you want to come with me to work today?” I heard Drew say softly behind my ears as he kissed and sucked gently on my neck. I turned around to face him sleepily but said nothing, he paused a bit to look at me before speaking again. “You alright babe?” He asked sitting up on his elbow and removing the strands of hair covering my face. I nodded slightly to answer his question but said nothing still, it was still early in the morning and I wondered why he had to wake me for this. “Would you be joining me to work today?” He asked again smiling. “What time is it Drew?” I asked him back ignoring his own question. “It’s past 4am princess.” He gently responded. “What time would you be leaving for work today?” I asked him again slightly raising my voice. “Uhm 9am, I have a meeting at exactly 2pm.” He replied and I nodded. “You’re leaving for work by 9am and you chose to wake me up this early? Would you need me for anything at the office?” I asked him, irritation clearly e

From the balcony where I sat, I could see Drew driving in. He parked his car in the garage and got out like he was in a hurry to get something, I laughed at his enthusiasm to meet me. I walked back into the room and lit up some scented candles to grace the room’s atmosphere and overall smell. “I’m eating right now, hope you had something to eat already?” Drew’s message popped into my phone few seconds later. “Yeah I had brunch 30minutes ago.” I replied his text. “Alright, catch you soon. Remember, be naked!” He text back with some ‘dripping’ emojis. I laughed at how nasty and vulnerable he can be with me, never did I think that I would ever be able to unlock and unravel this aspect of him. From being the cold and distant person he was when I had arrived in the city with him, to the sweet and loving person he is right now. Sometimes it appears to be like some sort of dream to me but I pray this whole phase remains the same and nothing changes it. I have no doubt he would be the be

I woke up early the next morning, feeling excited and nervous. Today was Zach's 17th birthday, and I had plans to surprise him with a special gift. I got out of bed and began to get ready for the day. Drew stirred beside me, opening one eye to look at me. "What's going on?" he asked, his voice husky with sleep."It's Zach's birthday today," I replied, smiling. Drew chuckled and sat up in bed. "Yeah, that’s right. “He’s gonna get real spoilt today.”We both got dressed and headed downstairs to the kitchen. Theresa was already there, cooking up a storm. The delicious smell of pancakes and bacon filled the air, making my stomach growl with hunger."Good morning," Theresa said, smiling at us.“Good morning.” I said and went to help her set the table. “Oh dear, Catherine should handle that.” She said and called on Catherine who rushed from her room to come set the table. “It’s fine, I want to do it.” I told her and she just nodded, stepping back into the kitchen. I couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement as Drew’s hands wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer to him. I leaned in, my lips brushing against his. We kissed softly, the tension between us building into something extra. Drew's hands traveled up my back, his fingers tracing the curve of my spine. I shivered, feeling a thrill run down my whole body. He deepened the kiss, his tongue tangling with mine and fighting fiercely for dominance. I felt myself getting lost in the moment, my heart racing with excitement. Drew's hands cupped my face, his thumbs tracing the curve of my cheeks. We broke apart for a moment, gasping for air."I love you," Drew whispered, his eyes burning with intensity."I love you too," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. We kissed again, the passion between us never quenching, gladly I was melting into his arms, our hearts beating as one.The sound of Drew's phone ringing broke the spell, and we reluctantly pulled apart. “Who wants some?” Theresa asked walking in with a plate of sandwiches. I raised my hands and she gave me some, then Zach and Catherine. We munched in silence as we continued to see the movie, just then my phone notifications went off with series of messages. I picked up my phone and checked for who the recipient was, it was Nessa. I had just spoken to her few minutes ago, I wondered what it was she had sent to me as I cleaned my hands with a paper towel and unlocked my phone. “Jezz!” I gasped, my mouth forming an ‘O’ shape. “What’s wrong?” Theresa asked looking at me, not just her, Zach and Catherine too. “Uhm, nothing serious. I’ll just go upstairs to Drew.” I told her as I stood up and made my way upstairs. “You sure everything is fine?” She asked again before I reached the hallway. “Yeah.” I answered her and nodded. “It’s just something I have to show him.” I said and pointed towards Drew’s door. I rushed in and Drew wasn’t in his room, I knew he had to be in the study. “Gue

"You know, with Christmas just around the corner, I think it's time we started decorating the house," he said, his eyes sparkling with excitement.I smiled, feeling a surge of excitement. "That sounds like someone trying to have so much fun!" I exclaimed.Drew grinned. "I am! And I want you to come with me to the store to pick out some decorations. We can make a day of it."I nodded enthusiastically. "That sounds like a blast! Who else is coming with us?"Drew thought for a moment. "How about Zach and Catherine? We can make it a fun group outing."I clapped my hands together. "Yes, that sounds perfect! Let's go get them."We finished breakfast, and then Drew and I called out to Zach and Catherine who both seemed excited to join us on our decorating adventure. The four of us piled into Drew's car and headed to the store. I woke up early, feeling a mix of emotions. Today was the day of the court case, and I was both nervous and determined.Drew was already up, getting ready for the day. He smiled at me as I got out of bed. "Good morning, beautiful," he said. "Are you ready for today?"I nodded, taking a deep breath. "Yes, I'm ready," I said.We got dressed and went downstairs, where my mom was waiting already. We had a quick breakfast, and then we headed out to the court. As we arrived at the court, I could feel my heart racing. I was scared, but I knew I had to be strong. We went inside and found our seats in the courtroom. Mark was already there, sitting with his lawyer. He looked smug and confident, but I knew that wasn't going to last. The judge came in, and the trial began. Henry presented our case, showing all the evidence we had gathered. Mark's lawyer tried to defend him, but it was clear that they didn't have a strong case. Then it was my turn to testify. I decided to open the folder, my heart sinking Inside when I saw pictures of me dancing at the club, pictures of me picking up money from men. Drew smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Put it away, I'll always stand up for you," he said. "No matter what. He was trying to manipulate me into forgiving him, but it's not going to work. He’s so much and should pay for his crimes. And here, I got the video,” He said, handling me a small flash drive. I did as he said, stuffing the folder in my handbag alongside the flash drive. My mom stood outside the car waiting for us, "What did he say?" she asked as soon as we got close, her voice trembling with anger. I shook my head, not wanting to relive the experience. "It doesn't matter, Mom. We're not going to let him get to us. We're going to focus on moving forward and making sure he pays for what he's done."My mom nodded, her eyes shining with tears. "I'm so proud of you, Alexa," she said. "You're so strong and brave. I'm sorry I wasn

The next morning we all headed to the precinct again, Drew wanted to speak with the lawyers concerning the video, my mom and I decided it was best if we also went along with him. Drew had asked us to sit in the lobby and wait for him while he looked for the lawyer and have a conversation with them, we agreed but few minutes sitting there, I got up and decided to do what has lingered on my mind for a long time. “I’ll be right back.” I told my mom as I got up from my seat. “You sure you don’t want me coming with you?” She asked me, concerned. “No, I won’t take long.” I told her and walked off quickly. I walked out of the lobby and into the hallway, I didn’t know the exact room where Mark is kept but I had overheard the lawyer telling Drew it was in room 12. I moved as fast as my legs could carry me down the hallway before anybody saw me or stopped me, I kept looking up at the numbers written on the door till I finally saw it. ‘Knock first! 12’ was boldly written on the door, I knew

I glanced up at the lawyer and he gave me a reassuring smile, encouraging me to speak. I smiled back at him and started to talk. “It was hell! I was still an infant when my mom had moved into his with me, I didn’t understand anything at that point but one thing I still remember was the fact that I never got any kind of fatherly love or affection from Mark. He was disgusted by everything I did and beat me up or push me at the slightest mistake I made. It got worst whenever he was drunk, he never wanted to see me happy or playing around with children my age. When I was 10, he dragged me into his room one night and raped me. His son Drew was my only companion in the house, my mom said nothing to the constant beating and abuse because she was scared. He forced me to work even before I got to the age of consent, his excuse being that I had to contribute my own share for staying in his house. The rape, torture and abuse continued whenever I was alone at home and Drew was no where to fight

The rest of the day went by with Drew and I talking, cuddling and just hanging out in his bed room. When it was time for dinner, we headed downstairs to eat with the whole family. After which we returned back to his room, watched some comedy and went to bed. I was extremely tired like the previous evening, though it was caused by different activities. It was easier for me to fall asleep and I lured Drew to sleep early as well. “The lawyer called, we should get ready to visit the police precinct.” Drew announced casually as soon as he walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist, his upper body still wet from the shower. I rubbed my eyes which were still full of sleep and yawned, stretching my body all over the bed. “Is there a problem?” I asked him. “Nothing much, I think your mom would be taken in for questioning today, you as well. I’ll go inform her later.” He said and walked into his closet. I just nodded, still lying down. “What time are we leaving?” I qu
