I went ice-cold, horrified, some news is just too thick to be accepted.
I felt like I had been dropped into a dark abyss, with no safety net to catch my fall.
“I-I- I am- what did you say I am?” I stammered, refusing to accept whatever she had just said.
“I’ll move on to the next question,” She retorted, uninterested in repeating what she said a few seconds ago.
“A lot of things are after you, those that killed your Mundane parents are Apex predators,” she stated.
“I already know that… I guess they came for me, didn’t they?” I retorted.
“Who sent them to find me?” I asked, in an attempt to know who my enemies were.
“Don’t waste your time, Melonie, your enemies are too many, you can’t name them all,” she declared.
“Who commanded those things to kill my mother?” I yelled out in fury.
“And what would you do? What can you do?” She asked and scoffed.
“Tell me,” I retorted.
“Your father, your real father… he wants you dead,” she blurted out.
I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. The words hung in the air, heavy and suffocating. I couldn't breathe, couldn't think. My mind raced, but my body felt paralyzed. I wanted to scream, to cry, to run away. But I couldn't move.
“My father is still alive…why does he-wa-want me dead,” I stammered, unable to comprehend how mean he could be to want his daughter dead.
“You are a threat to his strength, Melonie, two powerful beings from different realms came together and bore a seed, do you know how powerful you are?” She stated, gawking at me in pity.
“It's a lot of Budden to carry,” she added.
“And my mother…where is my mother?” I asked, returning her stare.
“She died during childbirth; you were not like other children. She was the sacrifice for your birth,” she blurted out.
With that, my world came crashing down around me, leaving me shattered and broken.
“You shall watch every single person around you, everyone you love die as a sacrifice for your safety,” she declared.
The word struck me hard, my heart felt like it had been ripped from my chest leaving a gaping hole that could never be filled.
“If I should be dead then why am I here? Why did people save me? Tell me why!!!” I screamed in agony.
“Because you can also be the savior,” she retorted.
“What does that mean?” I asked, clutching onto my hair in frustration.
“You need to find out that answer yourself,” she responded.
“How do I get in? I was locked out because I couldn't go in,” I requested, too sad to cry.
“By accepting who you are. By accepting that you are the forbidden seed, by accepting that your existence is a nightmare to every realm. You are Melonie Aeron…The forbidden seed!” She responded brutally. And with that, she disappeared into thin air.
“WAIT!!!” I yelled, but my cry for help was rejected.
“Don't go… I need…” I whispered, breaking down in uncontrollable tears.
I wept with depths of sorrow that shook my entire body as if the weight of my grief was crushing me.
“Who am I?” I muttered as bitter tears scalded my cheeks, a physical manifestation of the pain that seared my heart.
“I am Melonie Aeron… The forbidden seed,” I started will all acceptance and unwaveringly.
I felt an unexpected rush of power, as if my muscles had been electrified as I lifted the weight with ease.
My body flooded with a newfound vitality and I summoned the strength to overcome the obstacle that had seemed insurmountable.
My eyeballs turned yellow, and my ears soared like a wolf with my hands covered in flames.
A sudden jolt of energy ignited within me as if my muscles had been electrified. Surrounding my entire body as I lifted the weight with ease.
“What the hell is this?” I whispered, surprised.
“Dragon blaze,” a lady's voice rang in my ears.
I glanced at her in shock and, suddenly, I was surrounded by a lot of people.
“What just happened?” I asked, surprised.
“You lifted your Budden and activated who you truly are. It gave you access to the gates of this institute,” she warmly responded, smiling.
“Welcome home,” they said in unison.
“Home? Are you all like me?” I couldn't help but ask with the warm welcome I received.
“Not exactly, you are a half-cast from two different realms, like a werewolf hybrid …we are a lycanthropic dragon, we create blaze, breathe it out, and control it while You are a dragon wolf, the most powerful creature existing, realms upon realms shall flee at the sight of you. even the most powerful people can’t hurt you,” she declared.
“If I am dangerous, why did your people save me? why does everyone here welcome me? you called it my home,” I retorted, confused.
“Because we are your people. Your mother was also a lycanthropic dragon, our leader. A mighty warrior,” she declared warmly.
“Y-you know my mother?” I stammered sadly, I had to hear of my mother from a stranger.
“No! None of us have seen your mother except for the old leaders we have. She is a legend, someone we’ll praise forever…we were taught about her, how she saved our realm, and how she died. But that’s all we know,” She calmly responded.
“You were also our legend; we were taught about you. the child the bore that was frozen for 1000 years. A dragon wolf, something that never existed. I could never have imagined that one day I’d be standing in front of a legend. I’m so thrilled to meet you. I’m Clara,” she stated happily.
“Hi Clara, I’m Melonie. I’m honored to meet you too,” I softly retorted, sending her a fake smile because still, I was not happy.
“I know who you are, everyone here knows who you are. Come, let me show you to your room,” Clara suggested, holding my hand kindly to point me the way.
As we walked over, I felt the weight of their fearful stares, like a thousand daggers piercing my skin, as they cowered in my presence.
I saw the fear in their eyes, like a reflection of my own darkness, as they trembled before me.
“They are scared of me,” I whispered, disappointed.
“It's normal Melonie, only you here don’t know who you are, but we all do. They will get over it; you just have to prove it to them,” Clara stated, tapping my shoulders to assure me.
“What exactly am I to prove to them,” I asked, unsure.
“That you are not the monster they hope you won't become,” Clara blurted out.
“I won't hurt anyone,” I argued, assured.
“People change,” Clara protested.
“I can’t even hurt a fly, Clara,” I retorted.
“Well, I assure you, soon you will be able to hunt a tiger,” she responded and smirked.
“And where do you think you are taking her to?” an elderly woman's voice echoed behind us.
“Good day ma’am… I’m taking her to her room, ma’am, she must be exhausted,” Clara stated respectfully.
“How dare you make that decision on your own? She’s dangerous, she belongs in a cage. At least until we are sure you won't get us killed.
“Lock her up!!!”
“But ma… you said she was welcome. Her mother was also one of us,” Clara argued.“That was her mother, Clara. She’s more dangerous than you can ever imagine,” she retorted.“But you don’t know that yet, you can’t just treat her like a dog,” Clara insisted.“Who’s she, Clara?” I managed to ask.“She’s Mrs. Hunter, her family leads the institute,” Clara yelled.“We are not treating her like a dog, Clara, we are simply putting her where she belongs for now,” Mrs. Hunter retorted.“She doesn’t belong in a cage, and you know it,” Clara responded.“I have lived hundreds of years, and not even once have I made a wrong choice, so you have to trust me on this one too. I won’t do anything to cause trouble to the institute my family governs. Melonie here is the daughter of our enemy, Warrick Aeron…you don’t know how dangerous she is,” Mrs. Hunter replied, and with that, she turned away without looking back, with men pulling me behind her.Rough hands grabbed my arms, holding me in a vice-like gri
MELONIE'S POV:I stormed out persistently, with an unstoppable force. Nobody dared to walk closer, talk me out of it, or stop me. They all stood far away from me, shivering in fear like a cold chicken.Everything I needed and wanted to know; I was ready to find out… alone! I was determined, that if my father wanted me dead, then let him kill me now.Realizing I have such extreme powers, made me even more eager to get into trouble.Suddenly, a hand gripped my arm, firm. I looked back doubtfully and got the shock of my life. My best friend stood there, gawking at me fearlessly.“Arlo?” I called out, surprised.“Melonie,” he responded calmly.I jingle my head doubtfully, “Wh - what are you doing here?” I stammered.“I'm here to stop you from making the biggest mistake of your life Melonie,” he blurted out firmly.I blinked repeatedly, still not getting it, “That's not what I mean. You are human, you cannot be in this world to begin with,” I retorted positively.“But I am here. I'm not hu
MELONIE'S POV:I grabbed Clara by the hand, “let's go in,” I stated and she smiled at me warmly.Arlo also came forward, “Where are you going?” He asked curiously.“Where else, dummy? Should I remain out here? I was told this whole building was mine. And please, stop monitoring me already, it's not like I can leave this place,” I retorted, rolling my eyes.“Hey!” Arwan called and I froze, “We begin training tomorrow morning, get ready,” he announced firmly.“Don't tell me what to do, you heartless kidnapper,” I growled and walked away, dragging Clara along. We got in and I picked my room, Clara also picked hers and so did Arlo and Arwan.Arwan's room was opposite mine, Clara's was beside and Arlo's was opposite Clara's.“Oh my God! I've never had a room since I was born here,” Clara Swooned delightfully.I looked at my well-prepared room; I was satisfied with it, but I still wasn't satisfied with the new, strange world. We went down for dinner and after dinner, I stormed straight to my
MELONIE'S POV:I gawked at him, and he gawked back, “Do you understand Melonie?” He repeated with a serious face, and I calmly nodded in response. He has high cheekbones, a strong jawline and a small button nose. His piercing eyes spackle with warmth and kindness, fringed with thick lashes that add to his allure. His hair, is thick, dark and messy, with a subtle wave that adds texture and depth. He has broad shoulders, a toned physique and a tall athletic build that commands attention. He excludes confidence and self-assurance without being arrogant or entitled. He is charismatic and charming, with a magnetic presence that draws people in. Accomplice with an angelic and baby-looking face and soft, white skin that would make you want to tame him.I stared at his bottom lip that was calling for my attention and I quickly looked away, my cheeks turning red, “You are too close,” I muttered. He pushed me away, clearing his throat to ease the awkward atmosphere. “All I'm saying is, from now
MELONIE'S POV:Arwan's statement replayed in my head, my giant fear stood tall, my heart beating in horror. If Mrs. Hunter dies, I'm in trouble, if I fight back, I'm still in trouble.“Fuck this!” I murmured, biting my lips, “What do I do?”I paced around the room, my mind was a jumble of thoughts, each one tangled and twisted, making it impossible to think clearly.I walked over to Clara's room, knocking on the door, “Clara it's me,” I called out.Everywhere went silent, I got no reply, “Clara,” I called again with a pleading voice.“Go away Melonie,” her voice rang out.“Please Clara, I need you right now, we need to talk,” I begged desperately.Everywhere grew silent again and then I heard a click.“Clara I'm sorry, I know you are mad at me,” I stated as Clara unlocked the door. She stared at me calmly, “I'm not mad at you Melonie… I'm just - Anxious and…”“I know. And I'm anxious too, I'm at the centre of all this trouble. How do you think I feel,” I explained.“That's why you ha
MELONIE'S POV:Ogling at me, he paused his lips, “Okay, we start immediately, there's no time,” Arwan voiced out.My face went pale, “Okay… no words of encouragement or you saying something like - good girl, you made a good choice?”He glanced at me, irritated. “What do I look like? Your daddy?”“Fuck you Arwan,” I retorted displeased.Ignoring me, he pointed towards a direction facing him, “Come here!”Without arguing, I walked closer, kicking my legs and throwing my arms to gather my strength.“Clean up this room,” he declared.I stared at him, rolling my eyes, “Sorry?”“Your first lesson would be manners, you lack that,” he responded calmly.“Are you fine? Are you sure you are not hungry or tasty? Or maybe you are pressed. Go on, take a poop. I'll be waiting if it'll make you feel better,” I snarled. He walked closer to me, his shadow covering my entire existence, “Talk to me disrespectfully again and watch me slap you into next week. Clean up this room and meet me in the garden on
MELONIE'S POV:My world crumbled, I wasn't scared, I was horrified.I wasn't ready, but I was forced to be.It's just one way to die, die or die either way.Thick sweat escaped my forehead and my heart was heavy with worry.“Everyone inside! lock the doors, lock the windows,” Arwan's voice echoed.I gawked at him as he calmly took responsibility, “I'm coming with you,” I declared. He stared back at me, “What can you possibly do to help? Stay here, go into your room and lock the door and windows. It's safer that way.”“You broke the lock,” I stated in remembrance. He paused for a while as if trying to verify what I said, “Then go into mine.”Arwan left the building I was, into the main building to save others, I couldn't explain it, but strangely, there was this force pulling me to him.“Arwan,” I murmured in fear.I trailed behind him, and for a reason, I could barely leave him to get hurt, even if there was barely anything I could do.“Everyone, vacate this building and move into Mel
MELONIE'S POV:We all froze, and everyone seemed lost in their own agony. “Should we all be saying our last prayers?” Clara asked out of nowhere, with a bitter face.Arlo also looked devastated, “Melonie do something.”“What exactly can I do? Jump in front of those things and get snapped in two? Gosh, you all never loved me,” I retorted firmly. My gaze fell on Arwan. Although everyone was scared, he seemed to be deep in thought, trying to come up with a solution. “I'll lead them away from the building,” Arwan blurted out.“That's ridiculous,” I spat back, “No Arwan. That's a terrible idea! You can't do that.”“I have less of a choice right now,” he defended, “That door will not hold, a lot of people will die. Our realm will be wiped and emptied, never to be remembered.”“THOSE DEADLY THINGS WILL KILL YOU!” I yelled out in panic, “They are not one or two; there are a lot out there, waiting to tear us apart like over boiled chickens.”Arwan took steps closer to me, “I know Melonie, but
🥀 CLARA’S POV 🥀I was nervous. In a few hours, I'll be married… or not. It depends.Melonie walked towards me, “Everything for the wedding is ready, are you sure about this?”“What do I say?” I murmured, “I can't keep clinging onto Arlo forever… I'll be fine. Alpha Vargus is a nice guy, I'll fall for him in the process.”“You can't be so sure. I think you would be head over heels in love with him by now if that was possible,” She pointed out.“Hmm, life Doesn't always go the way we want it to. In my next life, I want to be a spoon. That way I'll be able to taste delicious foods without having to feel any pain.” I retorted.Out of nowhere, Alpha Vargus walked in with an extremely handsome man walking behind him.The man stood tall, his commanding presence drawing attention from everyone around him. His chiselled features were perfectly proportioned, with high cheekbones, a strong jawline, and a small, pointed chin. His eyes were a deep, piercing blue, fringed with thick lashes that a
🥀 CLARA'S POV 🥀I stood there, frozen in shock, as he dropped to his knees. My mind was reeling, trying to process what was happening, we were fucking in the middle of a burial, of course, unless it didn’t mean anything to him.I stood there, unsure of what I heard, “Did you just talk about marriage?” I asked to be sure.“Yes Clara,” he calmly responded, “I did. Let's get married.”“Sorry to intervene in your pathetic love life,” Melonie excused, “But this is ridiculous, how can you think or talk about marriage at such a time like this? Were you waiting for Manon to die? We are mourning the loss of one of us!”“Can you please not do this Melonie,” Alpha Vargus retorted, “This is about me and Clara.”“Why are you so desperate to be married to her?” Melonie attacked, “She Doesn't even like you.”“Melonie,” I called, “Please excuse us.”She made an irritated face, nodded and stormed away, clearly not feeling it.I faced Alpha Vargus with raised eyebrows, “What was that about?”“You pro
🥀 LAVANYA'S POV 🥀It was the end for me, I was going crazy.I sat there, unable to speak or cry. I just gawked at the dead body of my lover covered in a pool of blood. If I had known, I wouldn't have bothered to fall in love. But she asked me out first. How could I have declined when she was being so cute?I felt the tension building up inside me, like a dam ready to burst. The emotions had been simmering for so long, and now they were finally reaching a boiling point. I took a deep breath, and then I let it all out."AHHHHHHHHH!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, the sound echoing through the air and waking up every living sleeping soul in the building. It was a primal, raw, and unbridled release of emotion. I felt like I was unleashing a torrent of pent-up feelings, letting go of all the stress, anxiety, and frustration that had been weighing me down.My voice was hoarse and strained, but I didn't care. I screamed again, and again, and again, and finally, I burst into helpless t
🥀 MELONIE'S POV 🥀The air was thick with a palpable sense of sadness and melancholy. Everyone I looked at seemed to be ogling at Queen Manon with a cloud of despair hanging over their heads.Faces were etched with worry and concern, eyes cast upward as if the weight of the world was bearing down on them. The usual chatter and laughter that filled the space was eerily absent, replaced by an oppressive silence that seemed to suffocate the very life out of everyone.Even the brightest and most cheerful of individuals seemed to be struggling to find a smile. Their usual spark was dimmed, replaced by a dullness that seemed to seep into every pore. The atmosphere was heavy with a sense of hopelessness as if everyone had lost their way and was stumbling through the darkness, searching for a glimmer of light. Every step seemed to be a struggle, every breath a chore. As I looked at Queen Manon, I couldn't help but feel a sense of despair wash over me. I pitied her.“I would really appreciate
🥀 LAVANYA'S POV 🥀I threw my hands to cover my mouth, my eyes widened and swollen with emotions.I ran back to the room, collapsing to the bed. Tears streamed down my face, and my body shook with sobs, each one wrecking my chest with a deep agonizing ache.I cried desperately as if the tears could wash away the pain and sorrow that consumed me.My eyes burned, my throat constricted, and my breath came in ragged gasps. The door clicked open, and Queen Manon walked in, I froze, not daring to make a sound, I just pretended to be asleep and she quietly walked to the bathroom to wash off the blood and then lay beside me.I was tongue-tied but screaming on the inside. I gripped the sheet tightly and after a few hours I quietly called, “Manon.”“Hmm,” she responded, “Why aren’t you sleeping?”“I just woke up,” I replied, “Did you go somewhere? When I woke up, I didn’t find you in bed.”“No,” she moaned, “I have been asleep all through, I don’t know why I feel more tired than when I slept t
🥀 MELONIE'S POV 🥀The situation went from bad to worse, day by day werewolves were killed by this undiscovered killer.Alpha Vargus wasn't happy that his people were dying, so he became a bodyguard every night in an attempt to protect his people, but last night… he was knocked out of consciousness by this killer.I paced around the hall, “Has anyone noticed their partner leaving the room at midnight recently?” I asked.Lavanya jingled her head in refusal, “I don’t think so, it would have been reported.”“This is bullshit!” Alpha Vargus yelled, “This is just so crazy.”“Calm down Vargus,” Arwan whispered.“I dare you to tell me to calm down again,” Alpha Vargus menacingly muttered, “This is your fault. Bad Luck and bad things keep happening because of you.”Arwan fired back, “How’s any of these my fault?” “You failed to coordinate your people as a leader,” Alpha Vargus snapped back.“You must be fucking kidding me,” Arwan growled.“Can you stop fighting, please?” Queen Manon cried o
🥀 MELONIE’S POV 🥀The loud roaring cries of werewolves got me jumping out of my sleep, Arwan also jolted awake, “What’s happening?” he asked.“I don’t know, I suddenly woke up hearing such a thunderous cry coming from outside,” I responded.Arwan inhaled sharply, “Can I get at least one night of good sleep? Things keep happening and it’s just so tiring.”The loudness of the scream increased and couldn’t be ignored. All of a sudden, a loud bang sounded on the door and Alpha Vargus stormed in, “Something is not right, my people are in tears.”“Fuck! Not again,” I growled.Bruno also rushed in, “You all need to see this.”“See what? They are just crying, it could be tears of joy, they are just very happy we fought Lucifer and came back alive,” Arwan snarled, lying back down.“It has to do with death, Arwan,” Alpha Vargus yelled. My eyes widened in horror and Arwan flew up from bed, “Let’s go,” he commanded. We stormed out, and the sound of weeping filled the air as werewolves gathered
🥀 BRUNO'S POV 🥀I puffed out a sigh of relief, everything had gone back to the way it should be. I looked at Bruno who was peacefully sleeping beside me.Lucifer's voice replayed in my mind, “Are you any better than them? You are in love with a man – isn’t that wrong?”“What do I do now? I’m so in love with him and I can’t seem to stop myself,” I murmured.I cupped his face in my arms, tracing his jawline with my fingers, and then his lips, lustfully ogling at them. Without hesitating, I laid mine on his.As our lips met, the world around us burnt away, leaving just the two of us, lost in the thickness of our passion.Time slowed down, allowing us to savour every moment, sensation, and taste.I gently brushed my lips against his, feeling the softness of his skin, and the warmth of his breath.Suddenly, he parted his lips, inviting me in, a soft grin spread across my face and I accepted, my tongue dancing with his in a slow, sensual movement. As we kissed, I felt like I was devouring
🥀 BRUNO'S POV 🥀I looked at Othello, “Why did you come? You don't have powers here.”“I know,” he muttered, “Regardless, I came to save you.”Dragging himself up, he stood in front of me with a blood-stained face, and pushed me behind him, “If you want to get to him… you'll have to pass through me first.”“Othello…” I voiced.“Stay out of it Bruno…” he snapped back, “It's my turn to save you.” “You don't think you can fight me, do you?” Lucifer asked, smiling in satisfaction, “You are so weak, you don't have your powers here, and you are injured.”“I'd rather die trying,” Othello retorted, “You'll have to pass through me first.”“Us too!” A voice echoed out.I turned around in shock. There, Arwan, Melonie, Arlo, Clara, Alpha Vargus, Queen Manon, and Lavanya stood wounded but fearless.“You both weren't thinking we would leave you here, right?” Melonie uttered, “We are stuck together, and even Lucifer can't tear us apart.”“Hi Luci,” Queen Manon called, “We came to collect what you
