The Jet engines hummed softly, a constant lullaby as we soared into the night sky. Occasionally, little glimmerings of light from far-off cities pierced the vast expanse of darkness beyond. The executives sitting about me were bathed in a warm glow from the dim lighting inside the opulent cabin.

As they discussed the logistics and plan for the upcoming conference in Malaysia, their voices were quiet and thoughtful. I made an effort to listen to them, to come out as knowledgeable and engaged, but my mind was elsewhere. Or rather, it was on someone else. Damien.

He had excused himself a little while ago, retreating to the private sleeping quarters at the back of the jet. It had been a long flight, and he claimed he needed rest before landing. But his absence from the seating was obvious and I just couldn’t help but think about him.

I moved around in my seat, trying to find a comfortable seating position but I know that my discomfort wasn’t something physical, but it was something I co

As the aircraft swooped into the clouds, the expansive Kuala Lumpur cityscape became visible. The city's modern attractiveness despite its rich cultural background was emphasized by the twin Petronas Towers, which glittered in the sunlight. Anxiety and resolution, rather than excitement for the new destination, caused my stomach to turn. We had finally landed. I’d spent the entire flight oscillating between frustration at my inability to stay away from Damien and the steely determination to focus on why I was really here. My emotions were a tangled mess, but as the wheels touched down on Malaysian soil, I forced myself to breathe deeply. This wasn’t about Damien. This wasn’t about my stupid, self-destructive cravings. This was about Ryan and the secrets he was hiding. When we finally got to the hotel, I was led to my own room that was beautiful might I add and had ceiling to floor windows that allowed me see the perfect view of the city. I stopped my bags by the bed and looked out

I walked to my room hurriedly and the minute I stepped into my room, I walked to my desk, pulled out my laptop, opened it and connected the flash drive to it. My heart was racing as I added the files to a document that I wanted to send to Jay with a brief message: “Run a deep search. Find me something solid to ruin Ryan’s reputation.” My fingers settled over the keyboard buttons for a moment as I read through my message before I pressed it. As I hit send, I leaned back into the chair and let out a small sigh and stared at the screen, waiting patiently for a reply from Jay. The wait was painful and I almost lost my mind. Every minute felt like an hour. I paced around my room, replaying Ryan’s smug expression in my mind and the condescending tone he had used with me when he barged into my office. My fists clenched involuntarily because the stakes were now higher than ever. This wasn’t just about vengeance anymore- it was about ensuring Ryan faced the consequences for all he had done

“Are you okay?” I heard someone ask from behind me, pulling me out of my thoughts. I turned around to see who it was and it turned out to be one of my colleagues, but I didn’t have the time to try to explain anything to them. “Yes. I am,” I mumbled before walking away. My chest felt heavy and I my breath caught in my throat as I walked through the crowd, trying my possible best not to barge into anybody. I finally got to the door and let out a sigh of relief even if my chest was still tight and walked to the elevator. When I go to the hallway that led to my room, I heard a familiar voice and I froze in place. “Leaving so soon?” Ryan asked, his voice smug and the opposite of the usual polite and nice tone he used to talk to people in public. My hand fell from the door knob and my face paled, I started praying that he doesn’t try anything stupid with me. “What do you want from me, Ryan?” He walked closer to me and leaved against the wall before his dark eyes trailed over my bo

“Is that a threat?” I asked, my voice icy. He tilted his head, his smirk never faltering. “Call it a warning.” “Whatever,” I said to him as I rolled my eyes. “Amanda, you’re going to end up being on the losing side. Just warm up to me and see how I can make life so good for you,” he said convincingly and I was taken aback by the change in his home. Not less than a minute ago, he was threatening me and now he wants me to be on his side? I let out a scoff and turned to him. “The only person I know who’s going to lose is you Ryan.” He didn’t say anything and we just stared at each other in silence. I took that as my cue to leave since the discussion was now over. “Now if you’ll excuse me-“ I moved to my door and tried to grab the handle but he reached for me instead and grabbed me by my wrist. I froze in place because of the unexpected pain from how tight his hand was on my wrist and my breath caught in my throat as I started panicking. “Don’t you dare try to walk away from me whe

“Damien… wh- what are you doing?” He didn’t answer, instead he rocked himself into my ass, causing me to moan before I could stop myself. “Damien,” I hissed, my voice a sharp whisper. “What are you doing? We’re in the middle of a hallway!” He leaned in closer to me and he whispered into my ear, his breath warm against my skin. “Nobody except us is here, Amanda,” he let out in a husky voice. “And even if they were, do you really think that I would let them see you like this? See what’s mine?” I stiffened at his words, torn between indignation and the way my body responded to the possessive edge in his tone. “I’m not yours,” I replied him but my voice was weak. “Keep telling yourself that,” he mumbled. “Even if your mouth says you’re not, your body is saying otherwise.” I opened my mouth to argue, to say something but the words caught in my throat as he bunched up my dress and slipped his hand into my thighs. “But someone could see-“ I trailed off, ny eyes widening as he tore my th

I whimper as my body clenched around his dick which each dirty word he said.“Fuck,” he growled. “You’re so fucking tight. Relax, baby, let me move freely.”I tried to do as he said, and gradually my muscles loosened. Damien pushed deeper, inch by inch, filling me until I didn’t think I can take any more. Then he pushed even further and the tension inside me snapped. I let go completely, allowing myself to be take over by the new sensations that were coursing through my body.“That’s it, beautiful. You feel amazing.” He released a ragged breath. “You are amazing.”I closed my eyes, my heart expanding even more at the emotion I was sure I can hear in his voice. Moving slowly at first, he allowed me adjust to him before he picked up the pace. Once I started moving with him, he wrapped one arm around my waist while his other hand found my clit again, rubbing it with the perfect amount of pressure. As I watched Damien walk away, I couldn’t help but hurt by his words and I couldn’t fit the love of God figure out why. But, I quickly pushed the thoughts away before gathering myself and walking to my door, I finally opened the door and I slipped into the room. The weekend passed by slowly and it felt like torture. I was burning with anticipation and I spent most of the days imagining the look on Ryan’s face when the media houses finally aired out his dirty secrets. Finally, it was a new week and I practically glowing with joy as I prepared for work. It was a Monday and even though everyone dreaded going to work, the picture of Ryan getting embarrassed and questioned by everyone was the only thing that gave me motivation. Ryan finally getting disgraced was all that was on my mind as I left my apartment and headed to the office. Immediately I walked into my office, I was notified that we had a meeting. I dropped my bag and walked to the meeting room. Damien was already seated at t

“No,” I replied sharply as I rested my head against the door. “Go away.”“I am not leaving here, so just open the damn door,” he said in a firm but kind voice. “Let me talk to you.”“There is absolutely nothing to talk about,” I replied him in a bitter tone. “You saw what happened. Everyone saw.”“And I’m here to check on you. I swear that I’ll fix it,” he said. “So please just open the door.”I thought over his words and I realized that it wouldn’t hurt to listen to him even though I wanted to be alone. I slowly got up from where I was sitting on the floor, turned around and unlocked the door before opening it for him to enter. Immediately Damien walked in, he closed the door gently behind him before he turned to look at me with a serious expression on his face. “You don’t look so good,” he said bluntly but his voice was filled with concern. “Is that so? Thank you so very much,” I replied him as I folded my arms across my chest. “That is exactly what I needed to hear right now.”“M

Andre ahead shown up at my door few hours later just like he had promised. During that time, I had scattered my house and searched for the documents again but it was still the same result. I was tired, frustrated and panicking. I didn’t know what to do and I couldn’t wrap my mind around all that had happened. I didn’t know why I kept fearing that something bad- something big was going to happen. Something that’d break me and everything I ever had my trust in. I was currently sitting on the couch in the living room and the soft hum of the TV was barely a distraction as Andrew paced back and forth across my apartment, his brow furrowed in concentration. The thoughts that someone might have been watching me and even trailing me still haunted my mind and I just couldn’t get oh over that fact, even though the weren’t here right now and had accomplished their mission.I felt stupid and mad at myself, I couldn’t explain why but I kept baling myself for everything. Ryan I could believe this was what my life had turned out to be. I, Ryan, arrested and cuffed in front of everyone back at the firm. I was disgraced and my dignity and the respect I got from everybody was stripped off me in one moment. This wasn’t how I had planned my life, heck I had dreams of something- anything better than the situation I was currently in. Cloris had sworn that no one would find out, she had assured me countless time that she had the backing of Damien and whatever I did was going to be done without an hitch. I was stupid to have believed her, I was stupid to have done everything I did without covering my tracks properly because if I had been more careful I wouldn’t be here. The police had taken me to the hospital and treated the wound from the gun shot, after they were assured by the doctored that I was fine, they had cuffed me again and brought me to the satisfying. They stripped me off my clothes and gave me what I would normally never wear even if I was ou

Walking through the hallway of the firm was weird and I couldn’t still get over the way everyone was looking at me. It seemed that they were both proud of me and in shock that I could truly expose Ryan. Except from the way he had always acted out at the office, they didn’t know of Ryan’s dealings. I was supposed to feel relieved and happy that I had finally gotten rid of the person who put me through so much, the ones who made life miserable and even had the audacity to threaten me and that I had succeeded in my plan but all I felt was emptiness. My heart was aching and my chest tightened while Andrew held on to me as we walked past the gathered employees, they were whispering as usual but I couldn’t care less. I ignored their words and all I wanted to do was get out of there. This was going to be my last time in the firm and I was never going to step into it, so, I might as well deal with their reactions and get it behind me. Each step I took was heavy and the exit felt too far a

“You want to know why, Ryan?”“Yes. I want to,” he replied, his face still red with both anger and embarrassment. “I want to know why you have it out for me when all I ever did was try to befriend you.”I slightly bent my head, a cold smile curling at my lips as I looked at him dead in the eyes. . “Next time, make sure my body completely burns in the fire, Ryan,” I said, my voice steady, almost taunting. “It might save you some trouble.”The room fell silent and I watched him go pale. Realization washed over him and his eyes widened in shock, he looked at me from head to toe, taking in my form. For a moment, I saw him for the pathetic and desperate man that he truly was. One of the board members dialed the number for the police and told them what was happening. He also asked that they got here in time because both Ryan and Cloris had high tendency of trying to run. “How is that even possible?” He asked no on in particular, his eyes still wide. “I made sure-““You were so focused on

I walked out Damein’s office, not sparing him another look as I went in search of Andrew. I prayed silently and hoped that Damien hadn’t seen him, I didn’t want him to be affected by something of my own doing nor did I want him to lose his job because he had decided to help me out. When I was sure that I was out of sight and Dameon couldn’t see me, I pulled the documents I had gathered in his office out of my cloth where I had hidden it, letting out a sigh of relief and thankful that everything was still intact. I turned the corner and searched for Andrew but he was nowhere to be found. I assumed he had left so I made way for the elevator. When I entered into the elevator and as it descended, my mind was still racing with everything that had happened. I was tired and numb and I couldn’t think straight, no matter how much I tired to wrap my mind around what I had found out, it just wasn’t making any sense. The elevator dinged when it got to the ground floor, the door sliding open

Immediately Amanda walked out of my office, I was left alone to my thoughts and the reality of things came crashing down on me. I angrily punched the wall, Les ing a gaping hole in it before I walked out of the office. I had come back to the office because I had left some important files that I needed for a del behind, I had to go through them that night so I had planned to quickly get them and go back home but I was met with something else. Amanda was my best friends daughter. I had been sleeping and messing around with my brother’s daughter. And she?She only came back to use me to get revenge. She had lied to me and deceived me.I had left the office when I was sure she was gone and I headed home, feeling hurt and angry at the same time. I didn’t even know I had gotten home in one piece because I was driving like a mad man, barely escaping hitting cars. Memories of the conversation we had- the way she had confronted me and accused me of killing her father without even getting

“Amanda,” he warned through clenched teeth, his voice low and filled with menace, “do not push me.”His closeness to me sent tingles spreading across my body and my skin burned from where he was holding on to me but, I refused to let my heart win over my brain. I wasn’t going to back down so easily. “Why are you being so defensive over this little thing? It’s just a picture frame,” I said, my voice trembling. “What are you hiding?”“I’m not hiding anything and you have no right to question me,” he replied me, his voice coldly calm. “But, you have crossed a line that I had drawn between us long ago, Amanda. You shouldn’t be here.”His words stung, but I refused to let it show. I pulled my wrist free from his grasp and held the photograph up between us. “Then explain this,” I said, my voice cracking. “Explain why you have a picture of him. Explain why-““Enough!” He snapped, his voice echoing through the empty and silent room. I jumped a little at how loud his voice was, my breath caug

Damien stood in the doorway, eyeing me suspiciously and I just stood there stunned, and unmoving as I felt my heart fall into my stomach. Damien narrowed his eyes at me, staring at me suspiciously. The room was dimly lit and his frame looked frightening as he walked further into the room and made way for me. The air seemed to thicken and I instantly started feeling suffocated. The air on my neck stood and I felt my stomach twist into knots with every step Damien took. Had Andrew not seen him? Had he sent me a text and I was too lost in thought to hear the notification? Where was Andrew now?Different questions I had no nadeers too swirled in my head as he kept getting closer to me. He stopped few inches away from me and his eyes locked on mine, void of any emotion as he finally spoke up. What are you doing here? Why are you in my office, Amanda?” He asked, his voice low and clipped but I could hear the slight irritation in them. I didn’t mind, I missed hearing his voice so much,

But as I was about turning around and walking out of the office, my eyes fell on something.I froze in my tracks, the air suddenly heavier around me. My gaze locked onto the photograph on the shelf, an image that seemed out of place among the neatly arranged books and polished wood. It wasn’t the frame that caught my attention but the two men captured within it.I walked closer to the table and saw that the men looked familiar. Realization dawned on me as it clicked that one of the men in the picture was my father, younger and healthier than I remembered. His usual easy smile looked forced, his arm slung around a man I immediately recognized.Damien.The Damien I knew was hardened, closed off, and brooding. But here, in this picture, he looked different- vulnerable, almost normal. He was smiling as he stared at the camera with a carefree expression on his face. His face carried an innocence I had never seen before, and it unsettled me. What is a picture of my father doing here in Dam
