~THE GROUP~
"Yeah, I'm ready," Brooke stated, "without a doubt." The girls stared in grins. "I can't wait to be a mom. I want to spoil this child so badly. And in my head I can see how gorgeous and tiny she's going to be, and I'm excited.” "So, what are you and Sandino going to do?" Mya asked, "I mean you guys are together, are you guys going to get a place?" Brooke stared. Beyond birth of this child, Sandino and Brooke were unsure about everything else. Sandino now had a job so that was a step forward in the right direction.
"We aren't really sure," Brooke answered, "I mean we've talked about it, but nothing is official." They nodded. Most of them couldn’t imagine being in Brooke’s shoes. Life was going to be hard.
"I'm excited for you," Amy grinned. Bab
~KAHLAN AND JUSTIN~ "Do you honestly think he heard us?" I asked Justin as he helped me clean up the mess in my house. I hated cleaning in the first place, and with the amount of friends I had, and the amount of parties, I was always cleaning. It was nice to know that I could count on Justin to help me. Justin shrugged. He handed me foil to wrap the remaining cupcakes up, while he transferred all the vegetables into containers."It's possible, but we won’t know until..." He trailed off."Until what?" I asked."I know Jason," Justin continued, "If he heard something, he's going to bring it up. So if he did hear, he's going to go straight to Chad or Amy." I looked. That was not something that I wanted to hear. "So no date with Doct
~CHAD AND JASON~I can’t believe this, Chad thought as he stomped angrily down the stairs, heading towards the main door. His family wanted him so focused on schoolwork, asking that he studied an hour ever everyday, but when he tried to get work down, everyone refused to answer the door. Someone had been knocking repeatedly for the last couple of minutes."Hang on!" he shouted, as he reached out, grabbed the handle, and swung the door open. A familiar face stood in the doorway. Chad smiled. “Oh Hey.” Before he could say anything else, he was knocked backwards, landing on his back. He put his hand up to his mouth, swearing that blood was drawn, but there was nothing. His eyes wandered up to the doorway. There in front of him stood a very angry Jason Flemming. "What the hell?" Jason gave a good long glare, almost as if he were second-guessing his actions
~DAMON AND ELISHA~ Damon sat on the corner of his bed. How long was she going to sleep? They were six hours into their day and she hadn’t moved. Damon was beginning to wonder if she was alive, but her soft snores said that she was. He didn’t want to disturb her, but at the same time, he wanted her out. He had betrayed his relationship with Kahlan. Damon wanted to rush out, and go to her, just to prevent her from stopping by again. He appreciated her early morning confession, and if he weren’t hiding a mistake in his bedroom, he would have invited her in. He would have made love to her, confess his every feeling and thought about their relationship in a way she would never forget. It was when Damon began getting dressed; ready to see Kahlan that Elisha woke."Where are you going?" She asked, raising her head up, her back bare, l
~DAMON AND ELISHA~ "How did things work out with you and your girlfriend?" Elisha asked over the phone, speaking to Damon. He didn’t understand why he had picked up the phone when he saw her name on the called I.D. If he were smart he’d be avoiding any unnecessary conversations with her. After all, she was the other woman. She was a secret that no one could find out about. Damon took a deep breath. Should he be letting her into his personal life?"Things are fine," he responded."Good. So you kept with the plan?" He shook his head as if she could see him. But of course, she didn't."I didn't tell her I slept with you, if that's what you're asking." Elisha believed in the truth, but the truth was not an option when it came t
~KAHLAN AND JUSTIN~ "Hey, I got your message," Justin said to me as he walked inside. At this point, when I texted Justin and I knew he was heading over I would leave the door unlocked. He was use to it. He didn’t even bother to knock. He walked in as if he owned the place. "What's up?" I looked. He found me in the kitchen, a pot of tea boiling. He could tell there was something on my mind, and it was something very big, hence the tea. He loved the fact that Kahlan used swimming and tea as stress relievers. Most people he knew used alcohol."First, thank you.""For what?" he asked a slight smile, as he took a seat at the dining room table. "For replying to your text?" I nodded my head, but there was more to that."You are always there
~KAHLAN AND CARLY~ Carly was knocking on my door early this Saturday morning when I should have been sleeping in. I groaned as I got myself out of bed, heading down stairs. I opened the door to see her smiling face. I glared. She knew just how much I loved my sleep, so why was she here?"Carly," I began, "What are you doing?""It's a girls day," She replied, making her way into my home. My eyes followed her. I had not invited her in, and I wasn’t planning to. My plan involved my head on a pillow, body covered with blankets and me staring at the insides of my eyelids. What was this apparent girl’s day? She pulled me in."A girl’s day?" She nodded her head.
~KAHLAN, CARLY AND KATE~ There was a knock at the door, and before me stood Kate Mercer and Carly woods. I stared."What are you guys doing here?" I asked, "Hell, what time is it?" I lost track of time. I took a nice bath, took a nap, made lunch, took a swim and then another nap. And here they were, waking me up once again."Almost three," Carly answered, "and you're still in pajamas." I looked down at my side. I wore white pajama bottoms and a black tank top."It's a Saturday," I replied, "I'm tired. Sue me." Kate looked. She always stood tall and proper. She looked like the perfect step mom."Can we come in?" My mom asked. I gave them a look, which said that I didn't care and walked a
~KATE AND CARLY~ Robert came from upstairs, ready to enjoy the evening alone with a beer in his hand, and a game of some sort on television, but, to his surprise, his daughter and girlfriend took up the living room."What are you guys doing here?" he asked, "I thought you guys had left a while ago." Carly and Kate had occupied the living room couch, legs crossed with the look of impatience on their faces. Something was wrong."Nope," Carly replied with the shake of her head, "We are still waiting for Kahlan." The girls seemed to be over dressed for dinner. He wondered where it was that Kate was taking them. They both wore dresses. Carly’s was an off white color and more revealing. The straps were small and the ends stopped mid thigh. Kate was more conservative, wearing a long black evening gown.
~ELLA~ Ella rushed up to one of the cops on the scene. The waiting around was killing her. The cops had begun to clear out one part of the building. There was an automotive class-taking place, and their escape was out the garages of the North side of the building. Officers were planning on storming through there. That was the last that she had heard of their plans. There were two students hurt, but at least ten evacuated. That gave some hope. There were no fatalities. Ella wanted to help."I'm an off duty nurse," she stated, "I'm here to offer any assistance." The cop looked at her."Do you have your badge?" She pulled out her nursing badge and let the cop examine it. At least he was being thorough."Go on over to the par
~JUSTIN, EMETT AND MYA~ Mya snuck the guys into one of the pool exits. It threw them off course just a bit to get the front office, but as long as they got inside, Justin didn’t care. He would find a way to Kahlan."How did you know this would be open?" Justin asked quietly. He wasn’t comfortable with Mya leading them. As men, they should be protecting her. She should be behind them."They cut the electricity off," she whispered back, "That means that the doors that were usually on manual locks, would open." Justin never paid attention to things like that, so he was glad that Mya did, otherwise, they may have still been outside, trying to find a way in, or they would have given up."How did you know there were
~KAHLAN AND BROOKE~ "It’s been five minutes!" Brooke shouted at me as quiet as she could when I returned to her side. She had gotten loud as if she was angry, but she was scared. She was sweating bullets, her face looking as if she had gotten caught in the rain."I know, I'm sorry," I said, "Did anyone text back?" She shook her head. "Damn it." Brooke looked at me. She wanted so badly for me to have good news for her, but I didn’t."What are we going to do?" she asked as she placed a hand over her belly. I stared down at her stomach. It was more than out lives at stake, it was the life of this unborn child. I couldn't give her an answer; so instead, I looked around, trying to come up with our next move.
~AMY, CHAD AND JASON~Jason looked, asking himself the same question. What was his problem? The fact that his friend and girlfriend lied to him… yep, that was it."I don't have a problem," Jason answered softly."Well you sure do stomp around like you do," Chad said."I'm upset," Jason replied. "I don't know how I should feel, but I know I don't hate you. Most of me misses you guys, but there is still a part of me that can't get over the fact that you two lied. And when I think about it, I can see you guys in my head, and it just makes me sick to my stomach.""Let us help you get over it," Amy said getting to her feet, "trying to avoid us and staying mad at us obviously isn't helping." Jason looke
~JUSTIN~ Everyone got to their knees outside, at the sound of another gunshot. The group was pushed back further from the school as more people escaped. Now officers had arrived on the scene. They had begun pushing everyone back across the parking lot, closer to the street and the surrounding homes. Justin couldn’t just stand around and do nothing. He was not the type to feel powerless."I have to get in there," he demanded, pushing past Carly. He didn’t even get a few feet, before he was thrown to the ground. He landed on his left knee pretty hard, feeling the pain of the pavement. He looked up and saw Coach Myers on top of him."Where do you think your going boy?" the coach growled."I ha
~KAHLAN AND CARLY~“So you have a date tonight?” Carly asked as we made our way to the front of the school. I glanced over at her as we walked down the hall. I had to stop by my locker to drop off my textbooks. We agreed that to car pool for a while. It saved time and gas money.“Its not a date.” “Yeah, but you want it to be.” She grinned. I looked over at her. It seemed that Carly might have knew more than I did. Justin and I had discussed going out together. As far as I was concerned it was just as friends. Though I wasn’t sure exactly what we were doing. Justin just said it was a birthday surprise.“Its two friends hanging out.” I responded. She looked at me. &l
~CARLY AND JUSTIN~Justin rushed through the crowds of teens pooling into the lunchroom. He was chasing one particular person down, and wanted to get to her before she reached their lunch table. He reached out and touched Carly’s shoulder, pulling her back.“Hey,” she said with a slight chuckle, his force a bit surprising. The last time she was grabbed like that, James was the one with the force. She was able to push the thought away from her mind rather quick. “What’s going on?” He seemed eager.“What do you think I should get Kahlan for her birthday?” That wasn’t a question she thought he’d ask.“Well, what do you think she wants?” She questioned, “besides you naked in a bow?”
~BROOKE AND SANDINO~ Brooke knocked on Sandino’s door. She had heard that he didn’t go to school, and figured now would be the best time to go over, since his mother would be at work. Dino opened the door, looking at her through the screen."What do you want?" he asked. She looked. So far, this was going better than expected. She didn’t even think that he would open the door, let alone speak to her."Just to talk.""I don’t want to talk. Not to you anyway.” He looked as if he had been sleeping the day away, hiding from the embarrassment that she caused."I don’t want you to hate me," she spoke out. Hate was a strong word, but if anyone was going to
~KAHLAN AND JUSTIN~ I stood at my locker, putting away my books when Justin walked up to me. I could feel his presence before I saw her. He stood behind me."Hey," he said. I turned around to look at him. We hadn't talked since what happened in my pool, and since I blurted all my thoughts and feelings at the lunch table. It seemed that our time had now come. I was ready to talk to him and it seemed that he was ready to talk to me."Hi," I said quietly."How are you?" he asked."I'm good," I answered, "You?""Not so much," He responded, putting his hands into his pockets. I looked at him. He did look a mess, as if he were losing sleep
