SANDINO AND BROOKE Once Brooke arrived at school, Sandino was at her side. He interrogated her about her appointment, hoping that she was okay. Brooke had stated on a few occasions that she wasn't feeling well. Today, she seemed to be doing a little better. Sandino comforted her by wrapping his scrawny arms around her hips, the couple taking their steps in unison. He gave her a kiss on the cheek. "I missed you all this morning." Dino shared with her. She smiled. "I missed you too." "I wanted to run something by you," the young man started, "I wanted to stop by and check on Kahlan." Brooke looked over at him. "I won't go if you don't want me to. There was a lot going on at the dinner and I didn't get a chance to really talk to her." Brooke nodded. "I don't mind," she said softly. "Are you sure about that?" He questioned. The brunette turned around in her boyfriend's arms, wrapping her arms around his waist. He stared down at her. She wanted to say something. He waited for her to g
THE GROUP It was a new day. Brooke had told Sandino everything she knew about Kahlan. She hoped that she didn't make a mistake and she hoped she wouldn't bring trouble knocking at her front door again. "Dino," Brooke got her boyfriend's attention, as she sat on his lap once again. The table was always so crowded by the time she got there. The chairs in the lunch room would go so fast, so her seat for breakfast was Dino's lap. "You didn't tell Kahlan what I told you, did you?" He stared at her. "Was I not supposed to?" Brooke looked back at him, remembering that Carly had said Kahlan would return to school today. If Sandino confronted Kahlan, Kahlan would confront her. Brooke sighed, and as soon as she did, she heard one of the guys say that Kahlan was coming. She turned around slowly. "Brooke!" I shouted, before reaching her. She hopped off Sandino's lap, putting her hands up as if that would stop me. Sandino stood up right after, being quick to step in between the two of us. "Wh
KAHLAN I went home, feeling nothing but anger. And at the same time, I felt bad. I can't blame Brooke for telling what she knew. It all could have been avoided if I would have just come out with the truth. Of course, I didn't realize that until now. She made me out to be a liar, which was true. The way I reacted was way over the top and now everyone knew the truth. There is nothing I could hide behind, no excuse I could make to change that. Before bursting out into tears, I found myself knocking things over, throwing lawn chairs into the pool, letting out loud screams of hurt. I had never been so upset before... At least not since the death of my family. SANDINO AND BROOKE "Is it mine?" Brooke couldn't believe that was the first thing Sandino said to her, once they had found a remote area on the school grounds. The lunch Bell had run long ago, but the two didn't make their way to their 5th period class. Instead they were out on the bleachers. "Why wouldn't it be yours?" She confro
JUSTIN It happened so fast. No one had time to react to the man sneaking from the shadows. Justin was able to cry out to Kahlan, but it was too late. “KAHLAN, WATCH OUT!” Her eyes went up, searching for him in the darkness. She had heard him, a look of alarm on her face. This unfamiliar man snatched her from behind and pulled her inside, kicking and screaming. The only thing Justin could think was, he had to save her. He ran towards the front of the house, dialing 911 as he went. He was in the middle of telling the operator that his friend had been kidnapped when he saw the man shove Kahlan into a dark car and pull off. What was he to do? Justin then saw neighbors coming out of their homes hearing the screams he had just witnessed. It gave him a good idea on what his next move was. He ran towards the nearest person and gave the man his phone. Tell the cops that my name is Justin Cross and I'm following the car that my friend was just kidnapped in!" It was like he and the neighbor ha
KAHLAN AND THE WINGO'S In my mind I planned to make this grand escape while we were on the road. Even with the automatic lock doors in the backseat and the fencing that blocked my way from the front seats, I was going to escape. As the car came to a halt, I knew that my chances of getting away were slim. Ryan turned his head to face me, a menacing grin on his face, ice blue eyes staring at me. I whimpered, trying to hold it together. "We're here," he said, chipper, breathing a sigh of relief. I stared at him. He tilted his head to the side, reading my discontent. "Are you not happy to see me?" I sniffled. When he first grabbed me, I cried and screamed. Now, I was silent, afraid to know what his plan may be. His blue eyes weren't bright and filled with love like Carly's, but they were bright with passion, the passion that he had for me. It was so unsettling. I turned my face away from him, looking out into the darkness, facing a small house that looked like a run-down shack; most of t
JUSTIN Justin crept up to the old wooden house. It appeared to be abandoned but this was where the car had stopped. He looked around for something to use as a weapon but there were only pieces of wood lying around. He picked up the largest piece. Yeah, this was going to have to do. He crept up to the windows peering in and seeing nothing but darkness. So he went around to the back. THE GROUP Damon Meir and Detective Kerwin provided some details about Kahlan Mercer's abduction with Sandino and Carly, only sharing what they knew were facts. They explained that neighbors came out to see the young girl being pushed into the backseat of a car and taking off into the night. They also informed them that a young boy by the name of Justin Cross made the first 911 call. "Justin?" Sandino repeated back, making sure he heard the detective correctly. "Yeah, do you know him?" The older male questioned. "Yes, he's our friend." Sandino had continued, "What did he say on the call?" "He let us kn
KAHLAN AND JUSTIN Justin made his way through the back door and found himself in a long hallway in complete darkness. He slowly made his way down but then stopped when someone with a candle crossed just a few feet in front of him. He held his breath. He walked slower and quieter. He peeked around a sharp corner into a room where a woman and a man sat in complete silence. The room looked to be a living room. The fireplace needed to be rebuilt. The walls needed to be repainted, the ceiling repaired. The fireplace was in shambles, but the pair somehow found a way to keep a nice fire going. Justin went in the opposite direction of the two, ending up in the kitchen. Everything looked charred, as if the home was engulfed with flames. Justin was going to continue making his way around the main level, when the soft whimpers of a scared girl caught his attention. He followed the sounds. Hidden away in the corner of the kitchen was a door. When the door was opened, there was a soft glimmering l

~ELLA~ Ella rushed up to one of the cops on the scene. The waiting around was killing her. The cops had begun to clear out one part of the building. There was an automotive class-taking place, and their escape was out the garages of the North side of the building. Officers were planning on storming through there. That was the last that she had heard of their plans. There were two students hurt, but at least ten evacuated. That gave some hope. There were no fatalities. Ella wanted to help."I'm an off duty nurse," she stated, "I'm here to offer any assistance." The cop looked at her."Do you have your badge?" She pulled out her nursing badge and let the cop examine it. At least he was being thorough."Go on over to the par
~JUSTIN, EMETT AND MYA~ Mya snuck the guys into one of the pool exits. It threw them off course just a bit to get the front office, but as long as they got inside, Justin didn’t care. He would find a way to Kahlan."How did you know this would be open?" Justin asked quietly. He wasn’t comfortable with Mya leading them. As men, they should be protecting her. She should be behind them."They cut the electricity off," she whispered back, "That means that the doors that were usually on manual locks, would open." Justin never paid attention to things like that, so he was glad that Mya did, otherwise, they may have still been outside, trying to find a way in, or they would have given up."How did you know there were
~KAHLAN AND BROOKE~ "It’s been five minutes!" Brooke shouted at me as quiet as she could when I returned to her side. She had gotten loud as if she was angry, but she was scared. She was sweating bullets, her face looking as if she had gotten caught in the rain."I know, I'm sorry," I said, "Did anyone text back?" She shook her head. "Damn it." Brooke looked at me. She wanted so badly for me to have good news for her, but I didn’t."What are we going to do?" she asked as she placed a hand over her belly. I stared down at her stomach. It was more than out lives at stake, it was the life of this unborn child. I couldn't give her an answer; so instead, I looked around, trying to come up with our next move.
~AMY, CHAD AND JASON~Jason looked, asking himself the same question. What was his problem? The fact that his friend and girlfriend lied to him… yep, that was it."I don't have a problem," Jason answered softly."Well you sure do stomp around like you do," Chad said."I'm upset," Jason replied. "I don't know how I should feel, but I know I don't hate you. Most of me misses you guys, but there is still a part of me that can't get over the fact that you two lied. And when I think about it, I can see you guys in my head, and it just makes me sick to my stomach.""Let us help you get over it," Amy said getting to her feet, "trying to avoid us and staying mad at us obviously isn't helping." Jason looke
~JUSTIN~ Everyone got to their knees outside, at the sound of another gunshot. The group was pushed back further from the school as more people escaped. Now officers had arrived on the scene. They had begun pushing everyone back across the parking lot, closer to the street and the surrounding homes. Justin couldn’t just stand around and do nothing. He was not the type to feel powerless."I have to get in there," he demanded, pushing past Carly. He didn’t even get a few feet, before he was thrown to the ground. He landed on his left knee pretty hard, feeling the pain of the pavement. He looked up and saw Coach Myers on top of him."Where do you think your going boy?" the coach growled."I ha
~KAHLAN AND CARLY~“So you have a date tonight?” Carly asked as we made our way to the front of the school. I glanced over at her as we walked down the hall. I had to stop by my locker to drop off my textbooks. We agreed that to car pool for a while. It saved time and gas money.“Its not a date.” “Yeah, but you want it to be.” She grinned. I looked over at her. It seemed that Carly might have knew more than I did. Justin and I had discussed going out together. As far as I was concerned it was just as friends. Though I wasn’t sure exactly what we were doing. Justin just said it was a birthday surprise.“Its two friends hanging out.” I responded. She looked at me. &l
~CARLY AND JUSTIN~Justin rushed through the crowds of teens pooling into the lunchroom. He was chasing one particular person down, and wanted to get to her before she reached their lunch table. He reached out and touched Carly’s shoulder, pulling her back.“Hey,” she said with a slight chuckle, his force a bit surprising. The last time she was grabbed like that, James was the one with the force. She was able to push the thought away from her mind rather quick. “What’s going on?” He seemed eager.“What do you think I should get Kahlan for her birthday?” That wasn’t a question she thought he’d ask.“Well, what do you think she wants?” She questioned, “besides you naked in a bow?”
~BROOKE AND SANDINO~ Brooke knocked on Sandino’s door. She had heard that he didn’t go to school, and figured now would be the best time to go over, since his mother would be at work. Dino opened the door, looking at her through the screen."What do you want?" he asked. She looked. So far, this was going better than expected. She didn’t even think that he would open the door, let alone speak to her."Just to talk.""I don’t want to talk. Not to you anyway.” He looked as if he had been sleeping the day away, hiding from the embarrassment that she caused."I don’t want you to hate me," she spoke out. Hate was a strong word, but if anyone was going to
~KAHLAN AND JUSTIN~ I stood at my locker, putting away my books when Justin walked up to me. I could feel his presence before I saw her. He stood behind me."Hey," he said. I turned around to look at him. We hadn't talked since what happened in my pool, and since I blurted all my thoughts and feelings at the lunch table. It seemed that our time had now come. I was ready to talk to him and it seemed that he was ready to talk to me."Hi," I said quietly."How are you?" he asked."I'm good," I answered, "You?""Not so much," He responded, putting his hands into his pockets. I looked at him. He did look a mess, as if he were losing sleep
