KAHLAN His hand was shaky, but the rest of his body was still as his blue eyes stared at my father and I. I had seen the blood on his shirt. I was sure he was hurt, but I wasn't sure where. The blood could belong to Angela. I had my face in my father's chest, holding on to him. He and I were afraid for our lives. Ryan's face was wet. He looked as if he had been crying, or sweating insanely hard. "I love you!" He shouted, with a bit of a whine. "Can't you see that?" He paused, waiting for a response, but I didn't have one. "Look at me when I'm talking to you!" I forced myself to turn around and face him. "I'll do anything for you. I'm not like your mother. I won't just leave you in your time of need." I stared. "Do you get that?" He had been asking so many questions tonight, and I never answered any of them. "ANSWER ME!" It was obviously getting to him. "I don't want to be with you!" I cried back, finding my voice. "I will never ever want to be with you again!" His eyes were wide.

KAHLAN AND DAMON Damon had found an ad that seemed to have everything he was looking for. One bedroom, one bathroom, close to the beach. That was all he needed and it was in his price range. He pulled up to a tiny house, seeing the 'For Rent' sign almost immediately. The place looked bigger and nicer than he thought. His initial thought was to get an apartment, then he thought about how he planned to stay here. So, he looked into houses too, just in case. He got out of the car, having the home stand over him, blocking him from the sun. He wanted to take a closer look, so he did. He had reached the front door, seeing that it had a doorbell. There was only one window at the front of the house, and as you looked in, he saw a hallway with tile floor, and a nicely carpeted living room. He wanted to see more, so he made his way around the side, only to be stopped by a fence and someone crying. He looked around, thinking that maybe someone was hurt, or he was hearing things. BROOKE AND JAMES Brooke had awoken from an afternoon nap with a smile on her face. First, she and Sandino had gotten over their fight and we're now back together. Second, his face and love had taken over her dreams. However she had reason to frown. One would be the fact that she had slept with James as well, and now he was back to blowing up her phone. She didn't want to talk to him. She knew right after if had happened that she had made a mistake and now there was no way to fix it. So, she was just going to ignore it and act like nothing had happened. It was the best way. She had been back and forth about what she was going to do when it came to Carly. Too many people knew her secret and Carly had already heard the news, thinking it was a lie. Eventually she would catch up. Brooke was so upset that she couldn't just own up to it, or be honest. KAHLAN AND ASHLEY "It's Monday." That was my first sentence of the day. God, I hate Mondays, this Monday in particular. Today, I would go to school and face Chad and Sandino. I hadn't spoken to neither of them and our conversations hadn't ended on a good note. Then there was James Blake...His name meant trouble and seeing him meant worse. How would he be at school? Would he approach me? And last, I would meet with Damon Meir. He was going to be full of questions. There was no doubt about it. As I walked onto the school campus, the first person I saw was Ashley. "Sooo, how was your weekend?" She asked. I looked over at her, letting out a sigh. She gave a chuckle, as she worked to put her long hair into a messy bun. "That bad huh?" She squinted, trying to keep the bright light from the morning sun out of her eyes as she looked at me. "You have no idea." She hooked on to my arm, eyes still on me. ROBERT AND CARLY Carly and her father walked through the front door of their home, coffee drinks in their hands, in mid conversation. Robert laughed, as he held the door open for his only daughter, who talked about the cute cashier who seemed to be flirting with him. "I'm trying to tell you dad, she's into you. Why else would she always add an extra splash of Vanilla and extra whipped cream, without charging you, like she's supposed to." "She was being nice," he answered, closing and locking the door. Carly made her way into the living room, sitting on the couch, with that bright smile of hers still on display. Robert sat in a comfy one-person chair to the right of her, taking notice of the happiness she was showing. It was strange to him, he thought she would be on edge for a while, scared and keeping to herself, but she wasn't. She was being just the opposite. THE MEIR FAMILY "How was your day?" Ella asked Damon, as he threw himself on to the couch, setting his bag down on the floor, in the usual spot. He let out a yawn, before answering. "It was good." "How about your client? How is she?" Ella didn't know too much about Kahlan. She knew that she had lost family members, but that was about it. "She's fine. I think she may be getting better." "That's good." He stood up, stretching. Ella watched him intently. "I'm so tired." Another yawn took place. "I didn't get much sleep last night." "Why not?" Ella questioned. He shrugged. "I don't know. I guess there is just too much going on in my mind." Just like that, his mind went back to Kahlan. She was starting to take over his every thought. He flashed back to their secret moment, and it was like he could feel all the hair on his body stand up. That was the feeling that he was trying to chase away. "I'm going to take a nap." "Do you want to eat dinner first?" She asked.

THE TWINS Mya used the oven mittens to hold on to a glass pan of green bean casserole; her favorite dish. She made her way from the kitchen, through the swinging door to the dining room, setting it in the middle of the table. She smiled, looking forward to dinner. She glanced around the room, seeing nothing but empty chairs. Unfortunately, this would be a meal that she would enjoy on her own. Paul, her father, was working and Amy was on a date with her official boyfriend Jason. Mya took off the gloves and apron, setting them in the chair beside her. She used a large wooden spoon to scoop it into a bowl and then she took a seat. And she quietly ate, alone. "I had a good time tonight," Amy stated, using both of her hands to clasp on to Jason's large arm. He smiled. It was a simple date for him, but to her this was her first official date. ~ELLA~ Ella rushed up to one of the cops on the scene. The waiting around was killing her. The cops had begun to clear out one part of the building. There was an automotive class-taking place, and their escape was out the garages of the North side of the building. Officers were planning on storming through there. That was the last that she had heard of their plans. There were two students hurt, but at least ten evacuated. That gave some hope. There were no fatalities. ~JUSTIN, EMETT AND MYA~ Mya snuck the guys into one of the pool exits. It threw them off course just a bit to get the front office, but as long as they got inside, Justin didn’t care. He would find a way to Kahlan."How did you know this would be open?" Justin asked quietly. He wasn’t comfortable with Mya leading them. As men, they should be protecting her. ~KAHLAN AND BROOKE~ "It’s been five minutes!" Brooke shouted at me as quiet as she could when I returned to her side. She had gotten loud as if she was angry, but she was scared. She was sweating bullets, her face looking as if she had gotten caught in the rain."I know, I'm sorry," I said, "Did anyone text back?" She shook her head. "Damn it." Brooke looked at me. She wanted so badly for me to have good news for her, but I didn’t."What are we going to do?" she asked as she placed a hand over her belly. I stared down at her stomach. It was more than out lives at stake, it was the life of this unborn child. I couldn't give her an answer; so instead, I looked around, trying to come up with our next move.

~JUSTIN~ Everyone got to their knees outside, at the sound of another gunshot. The group was pushed back further from the school as more people escaped. Now officers had arrived on the scene. They had begun pushing everyone back across the parking lot, closer to the street and the surrounding homes. Justin couldn’t just stand around and do nothing. He was not the type to feel powerless."I have to get in there," he demanded, pushing past Carly. He didn’t even get a few feet, before he was thrown to the ground. ~KAHLAN AND CARLY~“So you have a date tonight?” Carly asked as we made our way to the front of the school. I glanced over at her as we walked down the hall. ~CARLY AND JUSTIN~Justin rushed through the crowds of teens pooling into the lunchroom. He was chasing one particular person down, and wanted to get to her before she reached their lunch table. He reached out and touched Carly’s shoulder, pulling her back.“Hey,” she said with a slight chuckle, his force a bit surprising. The last time she was grabbed like that, James was the one with the force. She was able to push the thought away from her mind rather quick. “What’s going on?” He seemed eager.“What do you think I should get Kahlan for her birthday?” That wasn’t a question she thought he’d ask.“Well, what do you think she wants?” She questioned, “besides you naked in a bow?”

~BROOKE AND SANDINO~ Brooke knocked on Sandino’s door. She had heard that he didn’t go to school, and figured now would be the best time to go over, since his mother would be at work. Dino opened the door, looking at her through the screen."What do you want?" he asked. She looked. So far, this was going better than expected.
