Evangeline gently handed each of the triplets their milk bottles with practiced but weary movements. Klein stood nearby and watched with both awe and amusement. He couldn’t help but marvel at how she managed to juggle three one-year-olds on her own. The sight stirred a sense of regret within him as he was struck by the realization of how much she had been carrying alone and how he had failed to be there for her.
