"Good morning," Klein replied, his smile genuine and welcoming. He turned away from the stove for a moment to give her his full attention. "Did you sleep well?"

Evangeline nodded, feeling a sense of ease in Klein's presence. "Yes, surprisingly well, thank you," she replied, her voice soft. "And the smell coming from here is making me hungry already."

Klein chuckled with a twinkle of amusement in his eyes. "Well, I hope you're ready for a delicious breakfast then," he said, returning his focus to the cooking. "I'm making pancakes with fresh fruit and maple syrup."

Evangeline's stomach rumbled in response, and she couldn't help but laugh. "That sounds amazing," she said.

As the two chatted, Evangeline couldn't help but notice the change in Klein's demeanor. He seemed more relaxed, almost at ease, compared to his usual stoic self. It was a pleasant surprise for her to see this side of him.
