Chapter 66

I knew I had to keep moving. I bit my lip, gritting my teeth against the pain as I forced my legs to move. Each step was more painful than the last. The pain in my ankle was unbearable. Every step I took sent waves of pain up my leg but I couldn’t stop. Not now. Not with the sound of footsteps echoing behind me. The sounds behind me grew louder with every second.

I gritted my teeth, pushing through the pain. My breath was heavy and I could hear my hear pounding in my ears. I dragged my way into a forest. The branches pulled at my clothes, slowing me down. I could barely see where I was going due to my blurry and weak vision but one thing was for sure - I had to escape. I had to survive.

My head wasn't in the right place. I started to feel dizzy as time went on. I tripped over a root, catching myself just in time before I hit the ground, but the movement sent pain through my ankle, and I cried out, unable to hold it back.
