Not loud. Just firm. Two taps. My heart stuttered. I already knew who it was.

I don’t know how - I just felt it. Like my whole body recognized the sound before my brain caught up.

I stood frozen in the middle of my room, hair still messy, wearing one of those oversized silk robes that felt more like Marco’s taste than mine. My fingers fidgeted with the tie at my waist. I opened the door slowly.

And there he was. Six.

Leaning against the frame like he had all the time in the world. His eyes dragged over my face like he was putting it to memory. There was no denying the admiration in his eyes.

He was gawking at me like I was the most beautiful thing in the world right now—and not looking like a mess. Then there was the flicker of desire. I lowered my eyes, biting down on my lower lip.

I couldn’t meet his eyes. God, I tried, but the moment I glanced up at him, all I could remember was the way his fingers had caressed me all over. His lips—oh, his l

I saw the need in her eyes; I felt it in the way she gasped when I touched her.She couldn’t even meet my gaze, cheeks warm, fingers tugging at the edges of her robe. Cute. Dangerous. That damn robe. His hair was slicked back, making his face appear even broader. His eyes scanned me like I was something suspicious he’d found under his shoe.“Well, well,” he began, a wry smile on his face. “Who do we have here?”I stare

SixArabella sat across from me, her fork lazily twirling the last few strands of pasta on her plate. The sunlight filtered through the wide windows, casting a soft glow on her face. She looked…“Why are you looking at me like that?” she asked, interrupting my musings. She was right; I was practically gawking at her. I mean, who wouldn’t? She was so freaking beautiful.I shrugged nonchalantly. “Nothing…”Her eyes narrowed at me. “Are you supposed to be here?” She peered around nervously. “If Marco was to…”“Marco is not around,” I cut in. “And I’m doing my job. My job is to protect you.”Her eyelids fluttered, and I was entranced once again. Long, full lashes, beautiful blue eyes, her lips red and rosy…I reached out and brushed a thumb against her cheek before I could stop myself. She swallowed nervously. “I don’t think this exactly counts as protecting…”I traced a finger across her lower lip. “Yes, yes it does…” My voice was a soft whisper. Before she could say anything, the door c

ArabellaI dabbed my eyes, blinking back the tears. “Oh, you’re so pathetic, Arabella,” I muttered under my breath. I fluffed the pillows on my bed for lack of anything better to do.My bedroom was tidied to perfection. I picked up a book from my bedside table and hopped into bed.I flicked through the pages, but I couldn’t bring myself to concentrate. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Actually, I do—I just don’t want to admit it.I slammed my book closed for the third time in ten minutes. It wasn’t even a real slam. Just enough for the pages to make a snapping sound.Katherine’s laugh still rang in my ears. Sweet, delicate, perfectly timed laughter. I’d heard it all morning—she was laughing at everything he said, like he was a comedian.I picked up the book again and stared at the same paragraph. Some nonsense about courage.I couldn’t focus because every time I tried, Katherine’s voice popped into my head, her touching his arm at every slight chance.I should have left. It was awkw

I could tell he was drunk from one look at him.He stumbled inside, not even bothering to close the door behind him. His eyes were wild, glassy and bloodshot, his shirt halfway unbuttoned, collar askew like he’d been tearing at it.“They came for me,” he muttered. “That day at the dress fitting, it was intentional…” His speech was slurred. “It was not a matter of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. SixTen years. Ten fucking years of blood, bullets, and brotherhood.I stared at the ornate ceiling of Don Vincenzo’s study, counting the cherubs painted in some long-dead artist’s vision of heaven. Ironic, considering the hell that transpired in the room below them.I lifted my gaze back to his, remembering all those stern lessons from my childhood. The Don had drilled it into me countless times: a man who couldn’t maintain eye contact wasn’t worthy of respect or trust.Even now, I could hear his voice in my head, sharp with contempt for those he considered weak.In our world, weakness wasn’t just a flaw – it was an invitation to the grave. So I held his stare, steady and unwavering, even as my pulse thundered in my ears.“You understand what you’re asking, Six?” The Don’s voice carried the weight of tradition. Of rules written in blood. “La fratellanza is for life.”I kept my expression neutral, years of training holding my features in check. “I understand, Don Vincenzo. But I’ve se

CarmenI fled the house in a blur of motion, rage burning so hot in my chest it scorched away all rational thought. My father’s voice boomed behind me, each word a command that made less and less sense as the blood rushed in my ears. The tears came unbidden, stinging my eyes, threatening to spill over – but I wouldn’t let them fall. Not yet. Not here. I wouldn’t give him that victory. My father had taught me that tears were weakness, and today – of all days – I wouldn’t be weak. Not when he was wrong. Not when everything he’d said felt like betrayal. The key fob shook in my hand as I pressed the ignition button from a distance. The engine roared to life, offering me a way out.I quickly jumped into the driver’s seat, glancing at the security guards in my rearview mirror as they rushed out of their posts in concern. I hit the gas, leaving them behind as I sped down the driveway.I arrived at the club and parked at the entrance. Maybe what I needed was one wild night—a night away from m

But my mind wouldn’t stop playing that moment on loop—Six’s hand brushing my thigh, his mouth kissing me all over, and later… the way he’d slipped my underwear into his pocket like it belonged to him. Like I did. He said I was his.Heat rushed to my cheeks.Marco chuckled above me. “You don’t have to be shy around me, mi amore,” he said, lifting my chin with his finger. “You’re going to be my wife.”Wife.The word hit hard.I blinked up at him, confused. “What?”He just smiled like he hadn’t noticed the way my breath hitched. “You heard me, Arabella.”I didn’t know what to say. My throat felt tight. So I just nodded. It was easier that way. Pretend like I agreed. Pretend like everything was okay.Marco opened the door to my bedroom and carried me in. He dropped me gently to my feet when we got inside.I heard soft

I stared at her flat belly, then at her full, long legs.I exhaled. This woman would be the death of me. I touched her crotch area, tracing a path down to the wet spot between her legs.“Nice choice of undies,” I remarked. She smiled, but I didn’t miss the look that crossed her face.“Let me guess, Marco’s choice?” I asked in a strained voice. She nodded, looking at me with wide eyes, like a deer caught in headlights. “Do you ever think of him?” I asked. She shook her head vigorously. “No. His touch repulses me…”I touched her again down there, gently. “And mine?”Of course I was jealous. It was torture to watch them together. I needed to be sure. I needed reassurance. She sucked in a deep breath and shook her head. “I like it when you touch me,” she whispered.I crouched in front of her and pulled down her pa
