Chapter 72 Violet's pov 

I stood there watching the odd wolf God behaving strangely. He told me to wait a minute as he disappeared from my eyes and then reappeared beside Fillan. Now that Grayson had left he glared over at me making me second-guess myself.

"He is the crazy one and he is very angry that you got the better of him before. You weakened him but still need to be cautious," Sierra whined in my subconscious. I started wringing my hands nervously.

"I wonder what is keeping Grayson," I said casually. Lykaios's eyes narrowed and I frowned when he looked down at my son's body and ran his finger down his cheek. He split the skin open with his long claw-tipped finger.

"You know he fought valiantly," he growled low and looked up at me and I stepped back as he started shifting in the enclosed space. I glanced around for a weapon and ran out into the hall toward the exit only to find it bolted from the top. Damn it for being short.
