What?!" I asked in surprise, my face looking similar to the shocked emoji.
"Yes, rumor has it, he's getting mated to the daughter of the neighborhood pack's Alpha." The woman added before she left.
I sighed in defeat. "The only person that could make my search easier was getting mated to someone else. He wouldn't even have my time." I said to my wolf as she howled in pain.
I never thought he would move on so fast. It's not been a year since the incident, and he forgot about me and his children.
"Don't give up Bailey, try and reach him." My wolf said to encourage me but I was already dejected.
"THE ALPHA IS COMING! THE ALPHA IS COMING!! THE ALPHA IS COMING!!!" Someone announced. I looked up immediately and saw everyone rushing to meet him and I joined in.
I hurried through the bustling crowd, my heart pounding in my chest. Everyone around me was in a frenzy, rushing towards the same destination. They were all eager to meet the Alpha and his mate, to hear her speak, to be in their presence.
I could hear the sound of chanting in the distance, the crowd's excitement building with each passing moment.
The air was charged with anticipation and I knew that I had to keep moving, to keep pushing forward, if I was going to have any chance of reaching the front of the crowd and reaching Lucas.
As I moved closer, I could see the stage in the distance, illuminated by bright lights. The Alpha and the lady were already on stage, a regal figure in a flowing white gown. Her long dark hair cascaded down her back, and her piercing hazel eyes sparkled with a fierce intensity that made me shudder in fear.
I could not get to the front line of the crowd, but I was amongst those in front. I stood there motionless, my eyes glued to the figure I wanted to speak with.
His eyes scanned the crowd before they landed on mine and he had a shocked expression but quickly masked it up with his neutral cold look.
His eyes lingered on me for a few seconds before he looked away.
"Lucas please, I need to talk to you. It's urgent." I pleaded to him through mind link hoping he would take a look at me and answer me.
Seeing his neutral expression, "Please Lucas, please." I begged again. "I just want to speak with you, I'll leave afterward, I promise," I said with my head low to avoid the tears building up in my eyes.
With my head low, I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned back immediately. It was Sam, Lucas' Beta.
My wolf rolled her eyes and spit at him when he inhaled his scent.
"Bailey, follow me." He ordered with a stern face and I immediately complied.
Seeing Sam reassured me that I'd see Lucas and my heart leaped for joy.
Sam took me away from the crowd and into a house not far away.
He motioned for me to walk in and I did then he closed the door.
"What do you want Bailey?" He spoke to me through clenched teeth, his voice dripping with anger and frustration.
"I need to speak with Lucas. It's urgent and confidential." I replied, giving him the cold stare he looked at me with.
He grunted before he made his way to the door and left the house. I could hear his receding footsteps.
Eagerly waiting to meet Lucas, I started pacing back and forth in the living room, expecting him.
After minutes of walking, I grabbed my phone and placed a call to Sasha.
"Hey Sash, how are things over there?" I asked immediately after she picked up the call.
"Bad B. The police are not doing anything. They keep sending me back and forth in the station." She reported.
"Oh shit." I grimaced. "Humans are so frustrating," I said to her.
"Yeah, I know right? So how is Lucas? Have you spoken to him yet?" She asked.
"No, not yet. The Alpha Lucas is getting married to his mate and they are celebrating it." I informed her.
"Are you for real?" She gasped, shock evident in her voice.
"Yep," came my short reply then I heard footsteps approaching the door. "I'll speak to you later, Sash. He's here, Bye."
"Bye." She replied before I hung up.
A few seconds after I hung up, the door opened and Lucas came in alongside Sam.
I watched as he approached me, his muscular frame filling the doorway of the house. He moved with fluid grace, every step oozing confidence and power. His chiseled jaw was set with determination, and his piercing grey eyes seemed to bore into my soul.
I couldn't help but admire the way his taut muscles rippled beneath his shirt, or the way his dark hair fell in thick waves around his face. He exuded an aura of sexiness that was impossible to ignore, and I found myself drawn to him like a moth to a flame.
As he drew nearer, I could smell his musky scent, a heady mix of sweat and desire that sent shivers down my spine. I felt a flush of heat rising in my cheeks as he spoke, his voice low and husky, sending ripples of desire coursing through my body.
I couldn't deny the attraction that I felt towards him, the way that every fiber of my being seemed to yearn for his touch. He was the embodiment of everything that I desired in a man, strong, confident, and undeniably sexy.
"BAILEY!!!" He called out, bringing me out of my wild thoughts.
"Alpha Lucas," I greeted with my head low.
"What do you want now?" He asked in a cruel tone that almost snapped my heart in two.
I looked behind him and saw Sam. "I'd like to speak to you in private, please."
He nodded and Sam walked out immediately.
I fell to my knees immediately and started speaking. "Please Lucas, you have to help me. It's a matter of life and death."
"Hmm," he sighed. "What did you do now Bailey? He asked in an accusing tone.
I looked up at him and swallowed my pride before replying, "It's a long story."
"I'm listening," he said as he walked over to a chair while I was on my knees.
"After I left the pack a few months ago. I discovered that I was pregnant." I gulped before proceeding, "with your children. I gave birth to triplets a while back, 2 girls and a boy.
"Have a seat," he said and I sat down opposite him. I explained to him the incident of the break failure and the kidnapping incident that took place earlier today while crying.
I felt his demeanor change after hearing my story but his face didn't change. It still had that cold expression.
"And you believe the children to be kidnapped by who? He asked coldly.
"I don't know," I answered truthfully. "I don't have any enemies. I don't know why they would harm my children and me." I said still crying.
"Sam!" He called out and Sam walked in like the loyal dog that he was.
"Find out about what happened to Bailey and her children in the human world and report to me immediately." He ordered.
Sam stood there, looking shocked like I had two heads before he recollected himself and went out.
Seeing Lucas render his help to find out about the children without questioning whether they were his or not made me happy. I ran to him, knelt, and hugged him.
"Thank you, Lucas. Thank you so much." I thanked him profusely, in-between sobs, staining his shirt with my tears.
While hugging him, I felt a sharp pain in my stomach, which sent me to the floor wriggling in pain.
"Bailey?" Lucas called out to me in concern. "What's wrong Bailey?" He asked again crouching beside me, pity and sadness reflecting in his eyes but I could not respond.
My insides were twisting and turning in discomfort. I groaned, trying to find a comfortable position, but the pain only seemed to intensify. I knew that something was wrong, but I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was.
Lucas splashed some cold water on my face and gave me a little to drink, trying to help me.
But the pain was all-consuming, a sharp ache radiating through my entire body. I knew that I needed help.
I felt a wave of dizziness wash over me, the world spinning around me as if I was caught in a whirlwind. I remained on the floor, trying to compose myself, but my body was in pain from my stomach and my head hadn't fully recovered from the hit.
And then everything went black.
I woke up in a daze, unsure of where I was or how I got there. My head throbbed, and my mouth felt dry as I tried to focus on my surroundings.I looked around and realized I was lying in a bedroom with an IV drip in my arm.Memories of the previous day came flooding back to me, and I groaned in pain as I remembered the intense stomach ache that led me here.It had started as a dull ache in my lower abdomen but had quickly escalated into a sharp pain that had me doubled over in agony.I remembered feeling so weak and helpless as if my body was no longer my own. Now, as I lay on the bed, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. The pain was gone, and I felt a strange sense of calm.I knew that I was going to be okay, but I couldn't shake off the feeling of vulnerability that had taken hold of me.As I lay there, lost in thought, a nurse entered the room and greeted me with a smile. She checked my vitals then she assured me that I was in good hands, and went out.Alpha Lucas and Beta Sam c
I never thought that getting into a car with my triplets could end up like this. I had always been cautious and careful while driving, but this time, things were out of my control. We were on our way to my friend's house for a family gathering when suddenly the car's brakes failed. The car started to speed up, and I panicked. I tried to step on the brakes again, but they were not responding. My triplets, who were sitting in the back seat, started to cry and scream. I felt helpless, and all I could do was pray that we would be okay.As we were heading towards a red light, I realized that we were going to crash into the car in front of us. I honked the horn repeatedly to warn the driver, and fortunately, he moved out of the way.I panicked and quickly turned into the street hoping to slow the car down. As the car sped through the bumpy street, it lost control and crashed straight into the wall.We hit the wall with such force that the sound of metal crunching and glass shattering around
"What babies?" The nurses asked."WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY WHAT BABIES?" I screamed and asked them in return, blood pumping into my veins."Where are my triplets?" I asked, my voice breaking as my brain made up incidents that could have happened to them."Calm down ma'am. The police brought you here alone. You were not with any child." One of the nurses said calmly, insinuating that the head injury affected me."Police? There was no police." I informed them. "We were saved by a family in a black car. They took my babies and I was about to enter with them before I was knocked out."I gasped as those words left my mouth. I immediately knew they were not the good samaritans I thought they were. They took my babies.I grabbed the nurse next to me and begged, "You have to call the police, they took my babies, they are kidnappers!" I said crying like a helpless mother. "Please."They all looked at me and shook their head with pity. One of them grabbed a phone and made a call to the police and wi
