Chapter 1

Hayley's POV

"Miley, Miley…." I opened the door to my sister's room wide as I screamed her name but got no response.

"Miley…" I looked into the room but it was neatly arranged with no soul inside.

Where could she be? I thought as I looked around.

"Miley, are you in here?" I called out softly walking over to her bathroom, I opened the door and peeped inside but Miley was nowhere to be seen.

But then realization struck and I noticed something else was missing in her room. Her bags! They were no longer in her room.

"Mom!!" I yelled running out of the room and going straight to my parents who were in the sitting room.

"Mom, Miley is missing" I announced in panic and they quickly sprang up to their feet.

"What do you mean she's missing?" My father Conner Bradley asked with worry written on his face.

"I don't know. I went to her room to call her out. But she was nowhere to be seen. And the bags are also gone. Miley ran away from home..'' I was informed and silence reigned in the whole room.

My sister Miley was getting married to the Alpha of our pack today or rather she was being given out as collateral.

The infamous Alpha of our pack was known to be a very cruel beast, people feared him a lot, but only a few had met him.

It was rumored that he was an ugly beast with scars aligning his body so everyone wanted nothing to do with him.

"Hayley…" my mother, Clara suddenly called as she grabbed my two hands.

"You have to go in place of Miley…" she said hurriedly and I stilled.

"What?" 

"Mother, what are you saying?" I asked in confusion.

"I said you have to go in place of Miley. The Alpha hadn't met her yet nor had he met you. So you'll get married instead…" she said in a curt tone as she released me from her hold.

"Poor Miley, my mother pouted. She must have been so scared that she ran away from home.." she whimpered sadly and I stared at them in disbelief.

Miley ran away from home because she wanted nothing to do with the beast of an Alpha, now my mother was telling me to go in her place. Was she not even scared for her daughter?

Come to think of it, all of these were Miley's fault. She was so obsessed with going out with friends that they got drunk, crashed into a statue in front of the Palace, and destroyed it and that got my parents into a huge debt.

My family was poor and couldn't pay back, so the Alpha requested for their eldest daughter, which was Miley.

"I can't do this.." I shook my head, stepping away from them both.

"What did you say?" My dad squinted his eyes.

"I can't do this, Father!!" I yelled.

"This is all of Miley's fault. If she hadn't gone to that party and ruined the Alpha's car, we wouldn't be in this mess. And yet she is running away from her responsibility.." I defended myself as there was no way I was going to offer myself to a man rumored to be a beast.

"Can you hear yourself, Hayley?" My mother asked.

"What kind of a sister and daughter are you?"

"The Alpha will come for Miley today and If he doesn't get her, he'll kill us all…" she explained but I shook my head in denial.

"I can't do this mother. I'm already in love with someone else, how do you expect me to be the Alpha's mistress?" I painstakingly asked. I already had a boyfriend and I loved him a lot.

"Love someone else.." my mother scoffed in mockery.

"That's your problem, Hayley. You're so naive and stupid.." she fired at me.

"Now let me tell you this. Jackson does not love you but instead, he loves your sister Miley. Just so you know he has been seeing her. So forget about him and do as I say. Go with the alpha once he comes…" she stated as I froze.

Unable to fathom what she just said.

"What?"

"Yes, Hayley. Jackson and Miley are a couple…" she said and I wondered how my mother could say such a thing so shamelessly.

Was I even her daughter? A man was toying with my feelings but she cared less about it. It had always been Miley right from the start, it was always her.

"Mother!!" I screamed as tears trickled down my face. My own mother telling me that my boyfriend had been seeing my sister behind my back was a big blow to my face.

"How could you? I'm also your daughter.." a sob slipped my lips.

"Then act like one and get us out of this mess. The Alpha's men would be here any minute and you should go with them.." she said in a firm tone.

"I won't do it…" I shook my head repeatedly. I won't offer myself.

"You have to do it, Hayley, stop being so ungrateful!" My father chimed in. 

He looked so calm and reserved. He didn't even look bothered after hearing what happened between Jackson and Miley.

"Once the Alpha takes you away. Miley will return back to us. My daughter will come back to us.." she said positively.

"I'm your daughter also. Mother!!" I cried out loud.

I had always been the black sheep of the family. Miley was the favorite one.

"Then act like my daughter and get us out of this mess.."

"You go to the Alpha. Miley comes back out and the debt is paid. Everything goes back to normal.."

"What about me, I have a life also?" I asked, I felt so hurt and betrayed by both Jackson and Miley.

"You can start a life at the Alpha's palace. Since you're going to be his woman. You're going to be treated like a queen.." she still tried to convince me.

I cried helplessly as I couldn't believe that my own mother would do that to me. Offer me to a beast when it was all of Miley's fault.

I was still in denial when a knock came through and I heard my father say.

"They're here"
