A howl in the distance alarmed Allister to finish up quickly from his shameful act. He transformed back into his human form. He could feel the power coursing through him. He felt exhilarated. He felt the adrenaline pumping through his veins. The crunching of twigs getting closer alerted him but with his strong sense of smell he knew it was one of his own.
Blake, Allister's royal advisor approached him quietly. The smell of blood luring him closer. Although it was just a few drops, he could smell her from miles away.
He looked at the girl laying in the snow, her body pale and her lips blue. Her small frame sprawled on the ground. Her face was flawless, like the rest of her body. She was young, a teenager and her beauty was that of a goddess. "What have you done sire?", Blake asked, sniffing her body, she was still breathing faintly.
" You know I live off the power of others. Especially witches. A virgin witch, do you know what power I have now acquired? The endless strength I have gained?" Allister growled arrogantly.
"What are you going to do with her?", Blake asked his eyebrows knitted together. He did not want another death to be blamed on wolves. There were already too much attention on them after the last witch he had slayed.
Sensing Blake's thoughts he replied, " The last witch was troublesome, that's why she was left in a mess. This one has no evidence of an attack. It could easily be passed along as a human encounter".
"The last witch had her head ripped from her torso", Blake shook the image out of his small head. He was in his late fifties and served the king. He was now entrusted with keeping the prince out of trouble which was proving to be harder every day. He had never encountered such ruthless behavior from the king in all 30 years that he had served the throne.
They both stood looking at Ediths beautiful body. Not even a scar, skin so silky and white, Allister almost felt bad leaving her in the middle of the forest alone, cold and for dead.
High up in the tree tops a familiar person watched over. His heart cried at the scene that had unfolded. . He was heart broken that he could not save her from this ruthless attack. It was barbaric. He could feel her spirit, she was a fighter. He could feel her fighting the urge of fading into nothingness. The sense of loneliness and a broken soul made his stomach churn. He knew he could not take on a wolf on his own. " The damage is done" he thought," he may have taken her virginity by force but her heart is still innocent and pure".
Connor watched on as the wolves fled leaving a frozen Edith for dead. She lay on the ground taking her last few breaths. This was a fight she was giving up on. A fight for her survival but her body felt numb.
Connor looked around making sure they were gone before he soared down from the tree nearby. He looked down at her and a tear slid down his cheek, falling onto the earth, melting the snow around her.
He gently lifted her up into his arms and carefully cradled her. The color was returning to her body, her cheeks were rosey red again and her lips a deep pink. Connor looked down and smiled as her breathing stabilized.
He did not want her to see his form, not now atleast. She did not need to know the truth just yet.
He spread his white wings and began to flap them gently. They were as big as a gryffins and he did not want to wake Edith.
He flew across the night sky with Edith in his arms. He knew he would have to leave her at home before her family got worried. He knew that although they did not understand her gift, they still loved her to some extent and would keep her safe.
He went into the barn outside of her house and layed her on some hay while he looked for a sheet or a blanket. Anything to cover her nakedness and keep her warm when he left.
After a few minutes he spotted her father's rain coat hanging behind the door. He grabbed it and wrapped Edith tightly. Lifting her up, he left her on the doorstep of her house and knocked the door loudly before dissappearing into the night.
He did not look back. The hurt in his heart fueled him to avenge her innocence but he knew he was not as strong as Allister.
He hoped that this was the only encounter Alistair would have. He had gotten what he wanted." To claim the virginity of the most powerful witch at her prime. And he has succeeded".
Connor knew Allister as his old rival, they had met before when he had fallen from his grace for loving a witch and choosing earth over heaven. Connor was given the duty of watching over Edith when she turned 10. As he watched over her, he fell more in love with her each day. He disobeyed the rules in heaven and chose to stay on earth. He chose no longer hide and disguise himself as a human, her best friend. He shielded her from Allister's pack before but this time the alpha had come himself.
Although Edith did not know it as yet, she was destined to be the most powerful witch.
A witch that now lay in a deep sleep on the doorstep waiting........
The loud knocking on the door rang through the small cottage. " Honey get the door", Mr May, Edith's father yelled as he sat on the sofa with his legs up reading the newspaper and smoking his pipe," I wonder who it could be at this hour?" Mrs May wiped her hands on her blue and green apron and walked out of the kitchen. She walked hurriedly to the door and peeped through the little crack. She saw her husband's rain coat laying on the ground and opened the door with one big swing. She gasped at the sight that lay before her. She screamed in panic kneeling down, clutching Edith in her arms. "Oh, my poor baby", she cooed as the tears streamed down her small face. Mr May got up of his one seater couch, knocking over his afternoon coffee and ran to the door. He looked at Mrs May clutching Edith and sobbing hard. For a minute he thought his daughter was dead until a small moan escaped her lips. He picked up her limp body and carried her to her room which she shared with her younger sister
Mrs May stood in the kitchen chopping vegetables for her famous stew. It was the perfect dish for this weather and to warm them up, especially Edith. She wiped a tear from the corner of her eye. Her heart felt so heavy thinking about Edith. Although Edith was not her own she felt her pain. The council finding out was the least of her worries. She was genuinely worried about Edith. When she touched Edith's hand she felt the deep pain inside and a vision flashed before her. It was a wolf and an angel. She could not make sense of it all. Mr May entered the kitchen dressed in his coat and boots. " I am going to find the B*****d and kill him", Mr May spoke through gritted teeth. He would take care of it before council found out. "Honey, it may not seem as easy. I had a vision of an angel and a wolf", Mrs May said as she added potatoes to the pot. After all these years together, his wife still did not know he was a wolf. That is why Council had chosen them. His wife was a visionary, a si
Alexander May sprinted into the night, through the vastly dense forest, he started to shift into his wolf form. The air was fresh and crisp with a strong wind ruffling his tan fur. He stopped to sniff the air, trying to gather any scent that may give him direction. He looked into the darkness with his sea blue eyes, trying to find any clues to the mystery. Alexander May sniffed the snow, but there were no traces of who could have left Edith at his doorstep. He walked further into the forest, slowly, still sniffing the air. A gust of wind carried Edith's scent, along with a foul smell that made his stomach lurch. It was another wolf's scent, one that is unpure. He stood still in the forest, trying to gather his thoughts. Alexander May finally decided to venture on and confront the beast. Although his human form said return home, his wolf form overpowered him to keep on going. The anger and fury inside of him led him further into the forest, following the scent. After fifteen minutes
Alexander wiped his face. He did not expect this ruthless creature to possess any brains. He stood up straight and smiled widely at Alistair. "So...... you are clever",Alexander chuckled.Alistair took a step forward and grabbed Alexander by the hair, titling his face towards him."Clever?", his question came out sarcastically as he grinned from ear to ear, pulling Alexanders hair harder.Alexander smiled in return showing his sharp teeth. He felt a sharp pain on his scalp as if the hair was being torn off. "What do we owe the pleasure to? A lone wolf venturing into my castle", Alistair said as he threw Alexander back onto the floor."You are no match for me! let alone all my guards".Alexander knew this was true. He now regretted even coming this close. He should have waited for the council. This wolf was not ordinary. He possessed many other powers."You have raped my daughter. You left her for dead",Alexander screamed out bitterly trying to free himself. As the words rolled off his
Mrs May brought three cups of piping hot tea on a tray with chocolate chip cookies. She layed them on the small round table in the middle of the sitting room. Grabbing her shawl, she draped it over her shoulders, spreading her hands out to the fire. She rubbed them together in anticipation."So Connor, the Fallen angel, what is it that you are here to tell us?", Mrs May said enthusiastically. She couldn't wait to hear what he had to say. Her visions never lie. She had seen him before but could not join the dots. Curiousity was eating away at her last nerve.Connor picked up a cookie and dipped it in his tea," Make yourselves comfortable. It is going to be a long, adventurous night. I suggest we have our tea first. Mrs May, we need your power of vision as we walk through the journey."Connor lay his cup back on the tray and dusted the crumbs off his lap. He wiped his hands on the dish towel that Mrs May handed him." Are we ready to begin? ", Alexander asked.Mrs May nodded as she looke
" Get off me. Let me go", Edith screamed. The tears streamed down her pink plump cheeks. It was just after five o clock and the sun was setting rapidly on this cold winters day. The wind blew gently and the smell of snow lingered in the air. Edith stayed late at the school park with Connor, her best friend because she didn't want to go home to her misfit family. Although she loved her family dearly, they were indifferent towards her. Everyone was, always calling her a weirdo. Edith never understood why. Maybe it was because things that cannot be explained, happened when she was angry or upset. But it could always be a coincidence. She regretted staying late instantly when darkness crept in and the few streetlights that worked were dim, making it hard to see clearly. As she walked down the street, wondering in her own thoughts , a man called from the narrow alley at the end of the street. She could not see clearly but he called out for help. Edith ran towards the stranger without think
