Chapter Three

Autumn’s Pov

'Autumn?' I heard my wolf called me.

'What?!' I replied uneasily.

'Where's the guy?' She asked.

'Well, I thought he's right behind us!' I closed my eyes ready to be grabbed.

'No, The scent is getting weaker. I think he's going somewhere.' She informed and I looked behind me and found him standing at the back of the restaurant still search for something outside.

"What the hell! Where's that rogue go? Alpha will punish me if I can't find them!" He mumbled behind his breath wished no one hear him but my super hearing can hear those words.

'I think it's time to get out of here!' My wolf suggested.

'Damn true!' I got up from my seat slowly and nodded to the waiter.

"Thanks," I said in a whisper and walked faster to the lift.

When I got to my room, I released a breath.

'That's close!' My wolf yelled in happiness.

'You will never want that to happen ever again.' I inhaled the air and exhaled it in relief.

I jumped on the bed. Wow, I missed sleeping on a bed! I've run away from home for a year and slept on the ground with dirt or leaves covered my body for a year also.

Remembering home hurts my chest so much. I missed my mom's hugs, my twin's giggles, my brother's kisses, and my dad's goodnights. They are my everything. 

I didn't know I was really tired that I fell into slumber just after I closed my eyes.

*flashback dream*

"Alpha! We can't find your mom. Her scent was also lost a few moments ago. We are afraid those rogues had her far enough until we can't sniff her scent." My brother's beta, Jordan told him. My dad beside me and Sammy got up.

"No! This isn't happening! I want my wife back!" My dad, the former Alpha of the pack yelled at Jordan. Luke tried to calm him down but that's useless! My mom is gone. Rogues got her!

"I will search for her!" I said, got up from my seat with tears ran down my cheek. I'm 17 now. I finally can have my own decisions.

"I will too! I will never let those rogues touch her ever again." Sammy got up and walked to my side.

'And I will kill them.' My wolf said with anger boiled her.

It was Luke's 24th birthday party and mom was out. She told me and Sammy she wanted to go to a bakery to buy a birthday cake and then set a party for our new Alpha. Dad will give his title as an Alpha to Luke.

Actually, it should be done when Luke is 18 but Luke asked for extensions because he wanted to search for his mate first.

Mate is a Soulmate. Usually, someone will get their soulmate at the end of his 17 years old age. But, Luke was unlucky, he couldn't find his mate until he's 24.

On his 24 birthday, he told us he felt something different and that's when a Human girl passed our territory to play on our lake. Luke found out she's a human so he needed to ask her and told her anything first.

Her name is Sierra and she's kind of cool. She can cook like a pro. She accepted the mate bond a week later.

Well, it didn't matter if she's a human or a wolf because when my brother marked her, she'll turn into a wolf, anyway. (She told us that it would be cool to be a werewolf.)

Yeah, turned to be a wolf. You know, wolves bites were just the same as the vampire's bites you saw on TVs. The bite was like a virus.

Well, vampires do not exist in this world. Umm, right? Well, I had never seen any of them passing our territory so, I guess they're not. Just some myth? After all, we would know if they exist in this world and sucking humans' blood somewhere. 

Oh for real, that's disgusting. Drinking blood? Yach!

Oh yeah, back to the topic. Werewolf's bite was just like a virus. For example, when a dog has rabies, and he bites you, you will have rabies also, right? That's what werewolves did too.

But that doesn't mean we're going to bite everyone. We just bit our human who is our mate to mark them so every werewolf knows they are ours. Then, the human will become a new werewolf when the full moon rises.

Oh! But humans didn't know we exist either. That's why we're safe. The moon Goddess already made it clear that werewolves and humans have a different world. But just like ghost's world, our worlds are different but can be mixed. Not that I know ghosts exist tho!

That night, mom went out because she thought it was a very precious day for my brother and she wanted to make a little party for him. But, she never returns. The pack's sentinels and hunters quickly searching for her, but we still have no clue where she went.

Didn't want the coronation to be ruined, dad finally gave the title to Luke without mom there and that was a sad moment for the whole pack. (Oh! Dad bit Luke too! They said the soon-to-be Alpha will have the Alpha power from that bite. Weird? But I live in it, so it's kind of cool!)

My grandparents gave me and Sammy a cup of tea to calm us down.

"Autumn, don't worry we'll get her as soon as possible." Grandpa cheered me up. "She always been a strong daughter to us and she will be alright out there." He continued.

I let my sob more and more along with Sammy's. I hugged her and she hugged me in return.

"Summer, don't worry child, you have to be strong. You too, Autumn. We will find her." My grandma said with her soft voice. It calmed me and Sammy a little. But, just a little.

"We will find her, Sam," I told her. She nodded in my embrace.

When our dad sat beside us with tears, we hugged him and that's when the new Beta of the pack, Jordan, told us our mom's scent was gone with the rogues' scent.

The other night after the ceremony, Sammy and I went to another pack to ask for my mom. And of course our Alpha, or our brother, Luke didn't know went to other packs.

We call the other Alphas by our private cellphone to ask him if we can come to look for our mother's scent. The Alphas were good to us. They even tried to help us search for mom.

When we're on our search at the 4th pack we visited, Sammy told me she felt something nice. We guessed it was mom's, so her wolf led the search when the Alpha of the pack came to see us.

I was the one who talked to the Alpha because Sammy wants to go to the restroom. Well, she made an excuse about that.

That time, I found out that the Alpha of the Quarter Hill pack is so funny and sweet. He told me that I was the girl he saw in his dream and maybe that's what makes him want to help me to find my mom. My pack was hopeless already to search and I was so happy that his pack wanted to help us too.

Sammy came to the room and when the Alpha, (he said his name is Brian) saw Sammy. His eyes glowed and then softened a little bit. He growled. I look at Sammy and her eyes were also glowing.

Oh! Brian is Sammy's mate!

But, Brian told me I was the girl in his dream.. 

Wait, it wasn't me. It was Sammy. Of course! We have the same face!

Well, I'm happy for her. I rejected my mate last month and Luke help me to get rid of him from my life. He's the type of guy who was really abusive and I can't handle it. He didn't want to reject me at first but when he found his second mate, he quickly rejected me. Asshole wasn't he? Well, it's not like I want to complain.

Well, at least the moon Goddess always gave us a second chance to have a mate. If I rejected the first one, one day I still can find one more. Like my ex who got his second mate when I rejected him. 

But t's also tricky because if I reject the second one, or he rejects me, I'll be dead. Yeah, just like that. 

We just need to believe in The Moon Goddess because a mate means they're our other half. If there was no mistake like my previous mate thing, our mate would be the best wolf or person we can have. 

"Mate." I heard them growl. Oh my. They accepted the mate bond at the first sight!

"I'm going to be outside, well..." I said when their glowing eyes looked at me. "Never mind," I said and quickly out of their view.

'Sammy... I'm going to search mom in another pack, okay. Please ask Brian to help us find mom. And don't forget to tell dad and Luke. Bye sister, wish you a happy life.' I mind-linked her and I felt something nice in my stomach. It must be Sammy's. I ran out from the pack's house to the woods.

'Autumn!' I heard Sammy said but I blocked her off. She'll be happy with Brian.

Then, I felt pain in my neck, but this pain is... Nice! 

Oh! It must be Sammy's too! Alpha Brian must be trying to mark Sammy. I felt everything she felt because we are sharing a bond, so yeah... it's awkward.

I walked to the pack's border to go out from Alpha Brian's territory but I couldn't find it. Then, I saw the pack's Omegas playing. I asked them to get me out of their territory, and they do what I asked with pleasure. They're all nice to me.

When I was out of the Quarter Hill Pack territory, I ran faster to the next territory. I was about to call the next Alpha but of course, I forgot my phone on one of Alpha Brian's sofa that I sat on before.

Damn it!

I felt something strange in my bond when I realized that it was already 1 month from the day Sammy and I got out of our pack without my brother's permission. It means, I turned to be a lone wolf now. Or a rogue. If someone became a lone wolf and go to another pack's territory, it's just the same as killing yourself.

'We can't pass their territory. We will be killed! We are on our own now!' Audrey shouted in fear. She's a strong wolf but a coward! She always made me panic.

'I have an idea. We can just run in the morning to search and hide in human's town in the afternoon then sleep on pack's territory with our body covered with dirt... ' I said.

'Or leaves! Just like what mom told us the story about the rogues' attack!' Audrey completed my words.

'Who knows for how long we will be like this.' I huffed and grabbed my wallet from my clutch before walked to the human's city, searching for a restaurant to eat.

'Keep strong, Autumn. We will find our mom.' She said calmly.

Well, at least I have her.
