Chapter 216 Numbed

Skye’s POV

The glass in my hand flew like a baseball ball to his face and broke his nose. I did not know I had such strength similar to a real pitcher, but the man fainted right away with his face held by both hands and his stomach folded, making the man half-fallen and half-seated on the sofa chair.

“How dare you step into my home and act high and mighty!” I groaned, murmuring to myself as I approached the man without feeling bothered that his face was covered with blood. It was in the middle of the day. The living room is well-illuminated by direct sunlight from the windows. I could recall the sarcasm in his voice and his laughter.

“Let’s see if you can still mock me,” I said as I squatted down to stare at his face after pulling him up so I could see his face more clearly.

I was cloaked with indescribable anger and fury that I think my fear of blood disappeared. Or maybe, my brain was too numb as well to process the fear that I would usually feel in situations like this.
