"Here."
Isabel, who was sitting on the bench outside, immediately stood on hearing Chris's voice. Turning around, she clashed her eyes with his and then lowered them to his hand. He was forwarding her coffee.
"No, sir. I'm fi-"
"Shh. Take it quietly." He used his strict tone on her that had her immediately complying.
Muttering a small thank you, she took it from him, her fingers brushing with him in the mid, causing her to flinch away. Her reaction had him raising his brows.
"People usually have that reaction with Theo." He pointed out. "Didn't realize I made it to his level."
Isabel, anxious, maintained her silence.
"Very well." He picked on her nervousness and decided to make things easy for her. "Sit." He indicated towards the bench.
Isabel, clutching the disposable cup in her hand sat down at some distance from him.
Few minutes of silence fell again them with Isabel's eyes lowered to her lap and Chris.. Well
"I have told you this many times, I can't let you meet them." The constable growled, firmly pushing at Edward chest.Edward, with a low growl, grabbed the constable from his collars before yelling loudly, "The fuck you mean by you can't let me?! Huh?! I'm fucking son of a mayor. Dare you stop me and I shall bury you alive!" He kept on roaring, harshly jerking the constable who looked done with Edward's temper tantrums. He had been like this from past four weeks. From the day Theodore got Evelyn and Chloe arrested, he would come here every day and would create a scene. He was adamant to get the girls release. Or at least to talk with them. What had they done to annoy a man of that caliber? Something wasn't setting up. And Edward was resolute to find the missing pieces of puzzles."Edward! Get hold of yourself!" Andrew pulled Edward away from the officer before apologizing to him and dragging Edward away."I will fucking see all of you!! Especially th
"Stop shivering, Hazel. You are raising suspicions."Emily's scolding had Hazel looking up with her anxious eyes. And indeed, the officer Theodore had sent for her, was looking her way with joined brows and concerned expressions.Seeing her eyes on him, he took the initiative of asking,"Is everything okay, ma'am?" His tone filled with respect.Hazel lowered her eyes and mumbled, "Yes, sir. I'm fine. Thank you." She intake large breaths to calm herself down. The officer didn't look persuaded though he didn't press furthur either. Nodding, he stepped a bit away from the girls to give them some privacy Albeit his eyes were following them with hawk gaze."Now what?" Hazel mouthed to Emily who was standing beside her. Both were now in corridor of hospital. Emily indicated Hazel to keep quiet and turned towards the officer."Sir, I will take Hazel inside my office. You can guard on the doorframe.""Sure thing." He gave a curt nod.In
"Why are you doing this?!"Her helpless voice had Chris turned towards her. His eyes studied her carefully. From her exhausted face to her sweating body, he analyzed it all.And why wouldn't she be exhausted? She had been running through the whole military track from past two hours."Because I can." He replied in sweetly sickening tone, walking towards her and forwarding her bottle of water. She was barely able to stand on her feets, her legs writhing and shivering badly. She took it from him with breathless thank you, that made him almost smile. Even when he was drilling the hell out of her, she wasn't forgetting her manners. Sweet girl.Too bad, Chris couldn't allow his heart to sway him. He had matters to even with her."That's an abuse of authority. I can complain to Sir Theodore." She said after drinking some drops of water and recovering her breaths."That statement of yours had earned you three more rounds to your prior number.
Her mouth went dry with fear. She couldn't speak. She couldn't move. All she could do was to gaze down at the reports and then back at him, time to time, with nothing but paleness and anxiety."Talk, Hazel." He said, closing the door and turning around that made her step back unconsciously. He feigned ignorance of her fearful antic. "Right now, I'm very angry, Hazel. So, let me know if you know something about why the hell have I received this unexpected report on my address. If you don't open your mouth, then I will gladly rip the envelope open and will make you read it. And if I found out anything about it concerns you, then God help me. Rest will be the dreadful future, you will remember as close as a horrifying history."With each step he spoke, he took a step closer to her. While, all she could do was to move back and back until her back touched the cold wall, that notified her of pathless alley she had walked into and now the only way to cross it was throu
"Shh, baby. Stop crying, will you? Are you not my good girl?"He was trying to hush her softy while brushing his fingers through her hair in an attempt to calm her. But, her tears were not stopping. Not a sound was leaving her. He was continuously murmuring gentle things and regretful apologies for jumping to conclusions. But for her, his voice was just blurred frequency resonating in the background. She was traumatized with shock. Her mind wasn't accepting the news. She was pregnant? She? What did she know about pregnancy? How can she bear the child of her rapist? How will she raise the child on her own?But the most terrifying question that was flashing before her eyes again and again was how would she confront Theodore about this? The mere thought sent tremors down her body. Fear struck her. Didn't know what hit her, but she began to wriggle in Theodore
His blood shot eyes were blankly staring at the ceiling, bottle of expensive liquor in his hand from which he had been drinking like an addict. He was sat on the floor, with his back leaned against the side frame of his king sized bed. His hair grown, face pale and eyes mahogany. He looked high on drugs. And he indeed was.He had been inhaling heroine and other drugs from time her disappearance had started taking troll over him. He couldn't deal with the stress. And thus, all he could do was drink and inhale until the painful memories of his time with her, would vanish away from his mind, leaving him nothing but hollow and numb.He didn't know where to find her anymore. All his resources had failed. There was no clue of her. It was as if she had disappeared in thin air.He couldn't get to meet with Evelyn and Chloe either. Apparently, the orders from that Brigadier were like stamp on paper. There was no repelling against his words."U
With very thundering heart, Hazel stepped out of her room. The whole house was eerie and silent, evening's dim light coming from window. The atmosphere added more anxiety to her already anxious nerves.Taking in short, nervous breaths, she dragged herself forward to the kitchen to hydrate herself. The pregnancy reports were tightly clutched in her hands. She had made up her mind to talk with Theodore. Today and right this instant. After drinking the water of course. Not that it would be of any use. Her mouth always goes dry at his presence, anyway. He would-"So the little mouse is out of her attic, huh?"Much for the; Speak of the devil and devil appears. His sudden voice caused her to jump in fright. Stabling herself, she placed the now empty glass on the shelve before turning around and looking at him.He was leaned against the doorframe, in his casual black button up shirt and black pants, sleeves rolled to his
Sat in darkness and silence, Edward was working on finding his solace in it. Though, it was no where yet somehow he was alive. Merely breathing but alive.Suddenly, his peace of mind got disturbed by distant voices, some uproarious and some haughty. His brows furrowed together on hearing his father shouting at someone. He had never seen him doing that before."How fucking dare you touch my Minha , huh?!" He was yelling in deranged tone.Edward's brows cocked up hearing the name of his one and only elder sister who moved out of the house a year back and had gotten bit distant from them. At first, it was weird but then Edward grew used to it. Their father's wealth and influence had made her independent at an early age.Though, no doubt, Edward was the one who had gotten most benefitted from his father's influence. But right now, when he needed his father's influence the most, his father dearest had backed away, causing him to mentally writh in abandon
